BTS members are KOREANS. And while Festa Room 2021 was made during the pandemic, it was to celebrate the 8th anniversary of their debut (June 13, 2013). They sang a medley of some of their side B songs.

BTS room was a special release they did for Festa 2021 (pandemic year.)
Festa is the annual celebration of bts's debut anniversary. It usually lasts a week. And every year BTS members release music, photos and video content for free. Some years they might even have concerts but that wasn't possible in 2021 so they did this medly instead.
In 2023 festa, their 10th year as a group, was the biggest one and was celebrated all over Seoul in korea and even featured a 30 minute fireworks display with their songs in the middle of the city. The entire city turned purple (official color) for bts.
Since 2 members are currently in the military, they even preprepared content that was released for an entire week.
BTS has a 10 year discography and its worth checking out if you guys are genuinely into different types of music. They started out in 2013 with a pure hiphop and rnb sound and later meshed in edm in 2015 and then in 2019 started incorporating pop elements.
Their discography is flawless, you won't find one bad song.

Hi dears. 68yo Army (BTS fan) here. You really should react to Taylor Mari's "A guide to BTS members: The Bangtan 7" just like all the other BTS reactors had to. In the guide the information goes by very quickly so you'll have to really pay attention or you'll miss someone's favorite part that they really wanted you to see. And don't talk over BTS when they're talking...you're probably going to need to pause a bit...but that's ok with us. Hurry back, dears.

The have 6 nr 1 songs at Billboard 100 also 2 members did solo songs and both songs also got to nr 1 Billboard 100, and the have 6 nr 1 Albums at Billboard 200 and are tied whid Beatles for that

This was a sampling of their songs, the songs and albums were on the bottom. I think you might enjoy the Rice Squad's -The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!). It takes you on a journey of why and how BTS was formed to their debut and their current success using a chrono of their discography albums. It spans from around 2010 to August 2022.. It fills in the gaps to some of the other bio documentaries and is a nice addition. It also lays a foundation on what you might like to listen to on your own journey. I also recommend their NPR Tiny Desk Concert (live performance). Festa is their debut anniversary celebration and the Live Room was a celebration for ARMY. This year was our 10 Anniversary Festa. Festa is BTS annual anniversary gift to army. This is their 2021 festa. All of the songs in this festa is their B side songs. To me some of the best songs are the B sides. Just a fyi for you two, there is centuries of abuse, war and occupation by Japan and China regarding Korea. The most recent was the Japanese occupation of Korea in the early 20th century that lasted until the end of WWII when Japan finally surrendered to the Allied forces. During the occupation Koreans were not allowed to have their Korean identity, their language was forbidden, millions were slave laborers, women were what they called “comfort women “ to provide sexual services to their soldiers, my mother was hidden many times during this period by my grandparents when Japanese soldiers came looking for young women. She was only 14 years old when WWII ended. So we armies get upset when you refer BTS as J Pop because you apparently don’t know who’s music you’re listening to and really with today’s technology there is no excuse to take a minute to look them up but come on, you as a TH-cam reactor who’s been doing this for a while know better than to make that kind of mistake. This is embarrassing. BTS is a great music artists and so beloved by armies around the world. Please, don’t insult us with those types of mistakes as BTS has been discriminated, hated, xenophobia their entire 10 years and still going on. The discrimination and xenophobia that the American media and the music industry really shows their corruption and they don’t care that it’s blatant. Billboard, MTV, Spotify, etc. change their rules to keep BTS out of winning their charts. BTS was once asked about winning billboard charts and awards and the leader of BTS (RM) replied that if they want to keep us out they need to change their rules and that’s exactly what they have been doing. So the shit goes on. One of the reasons this still goes on is American music industry has not made a dime out of BTS. BTS and their label HYBE refuse to to give contracts for album sales, PR, promotions, etc. Because BTS doesn’t need them. BTS refuses to participate in “payola” with American radios. You won’t hear BTS songs on the radio because they have a set playlist dictated by their sponsors. Millions of armies have called radio stations requesting BTS songs and zero radio play. There are clips of DJs calling armies “annoying “ b’cause so many requests but do they tell anyone the truth? That they can’t play any and all songs but can only play the set playlists. So, to rap this up, there is a lot of history as well as the present and more in the future of discrimination, hate and xenophobia that we will defend and protect BTS. This is coming from almost 63 year old silver army

BTS actually debuted in 2013 as a Hip Hop Idol Group in South Korea. So they are Korean Artists, not a JPOP band. While they debuted in the South Korean IDOL system, at this point, they have transcended the KPOP label and are Global superstars and have music in many different Genre's. They really are NOT your typical KPOP artist. They did pave the way for other KPOP Idols to have a Global Platform, especially in the Western Market. Thank you for reacting to our guys. This video was released on their 8 year anniversary, and they tend to do that every year, release special content for ARMY to celebrate their debut on June 13, 2013. For 2023, their was a HUGE Celebration in Seoul, South Korea. You can check it out online, they even livestreamed an awesome fireworks show to their music.
By the way, this is a medley of 7 of their songs, and the song title (left side) and album title (right side) are listed at the bottom of the video. These are mostly B side songs. I think one of them was a second release track for their album 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever', released May 2 2016, their 7th album release. That's SAVE ME. The Room was recorded in June 2021, so it was covid era. Every june they have a Festa like a a birthday party to celebrate the their debut in June 2013. This performance would have been in private because of covid. The next year they did a tiny desk concert.
The actually originated in Korea, from the underground hip hop scene and Kpop, but most of their fans feel they have moved far beyond Kpop.
Small correction: their Tiny Desk performance was in September 2020 - before this FESTA recording which was, as you mentioned, in June 2021.

BTS members are all Korean! They are KPOP (Korean Pop) and really should just be BTS music and not categorized as KPOP. They are a 7 member group with 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. They sing or rap in Korean and English. They do have several songs in all English. The leader of the group RM is fluent in English. They will all have served the mandatory military requirements by 2025. Please educate yourselves on them by watching a BTS guide.

As you know, BTS is a South Korean boy band consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers.
They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop.
All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them.
BTS started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves.
Among the songs in this video, Save Me has a music video. And there's choreography too.

Not to pile on but J Pop? A Japanese group? Where did that come from?
Room Live gives you a feel for BTS as all but one song was a snippet from a B side. The measure of a group is the quality of the group's composition and performance of B Sides. Lauding a couple hits from an album is not the definition of a great group. Sometimes the balance is filler. So BTS being a special group has a large well of works they can draw from and keep you entertained.
I was one letter off...its not that deep. 😑. Thought they were from Japan.

Japanese and Korean are not just 1 letter off. Calling them Japanese is as much an insult as calling the Beatles German. Korean and Japan have previously been enemies the same as England and Germany. It also implies that all Asians look the same. I don't think you realise how rude and insensitive you were.

Amongst a great number of ARMY comments, tazzznphilly finally acknowledged the many attempts to inform them of their "J-pop" blunder, with, "Yup honest mistake". Sounds pretty flippant to me. The only other acknowledgements I saw were, "It was an immocent mistake . Lol, ur acting like I called them killers or something. Calm the hell down. ... Smh. Foolish waste of a comment you made. ..." which is spelled wrong, hostile and nasty. The one other acknowledgement I saw said something like "So I was one letter off", which is just willfully ignorant and rude.
Their first BTS reaction was May 15, 2023. This third one was August 3. In 3 months they could have educated themselves at least a little about the world's most popular group instead of just using them occasionally for *clickbait* .
Also, using the same inane pasted reply to a great many of the comments is lazy and annoying.
