my criteria for "everyday" pens: light, has a clip for my pocket or agenda, not expensive to replace if lost, has good ink capacity to limit refilling at work, ink window, well sealed, scratch/smudge resistant, and pleasing to touch and look at.... enough?!? I think all of the pens you presented fit my criteria. My current favorite daily pens are the Stipula Novecentos, Sailor 21k nib pens, and Eboya ebonites. I love solid gold nibs - stainless/titanium nibs need not apply LOL!
Great selection Sam : for me an understated design , good ink capacity , not too big and an expressive nib are what I look for in an everyday carry pen. Those I use most are Pilot 823 , Pelikan M805 Blue , Sailor Realo Pro Gear & Visconti HS Bronze Age.
I agree with your assessment of the 1911 Realo, it ticks so many boxes being a gold nib piston filled pen. It looks great with that ink window! But in hand I find it too small and too light. Hence, a 149 remains my daily pen.
An unsurprisingly very tasteful selection of pens for everyday pleasures. I like them all, to differing degrees. I especially love the Caran d’Ache Leman. I recently bought a lovely turquoise one with the silver cap for much less than the MSRP in Europe. Sad to see no Aurora show up here., Anyway, my own A-list of favorite daily luxury pens would include a Sailor KoP, Aurora 88, Stipula Etruria faceted celluloid, Montegrappa Brenta, Caran d’Ache Leman, Visconti Divina and OMAS Ogiva.
I love all the fountain pens that you featured here. If I got all 7 of these and these are excellent recommendations by the way. 4 of these are ones that I had my eyes on before and the other 3 I learned from you. If I were to get all 7 how would I carry and preserve all 7 of them? What carrier would you recommend that I purchase. I am a beginner fountain pen collector. I would like to educate myself, learn more and enjoy the collecting aspect of fountain pens. Thank you!
I don’t like the M1000 as an everyday pen because it doesn’t post. I’m so afraid it will roll off of my desk. It posts, but very long and you’re absolutely right about the medium nib.😊
My Leonardo Momento Zero has never not been in the pen pouch, it's the daily go everywhere carry, the Grande has its outings once and a while but not everyday :)
Great video! i love the Graf von Faber Castell, but wont the Pen get slippery after writing a page because of the polished metal grip section? Keep up the good work Samuel :)
I don’t own these type of fountianpens yet, my closest in design would be a Jinhao 100 in black (Duofold clone/hommage), has the best in hand feel and weight also. For long writing sessions I rather use Platinum Meteor (same nib as Preppy/Plasir). But I noticed that I write the most with a Penbbs 494. For a nicer pen I’m currently comparing 50-120euro pens like Waterman hemisphere or a vintage Parker 51/ Duofold
Which are your Every Day Pens?
Sailor Pro-Gear or 1911L MF (or) Pilot Custom 912 Heritage MF
Pelikan M800 Ocean Swirl EF also a favourite :)
Lamy Studio is one of my favorite EDC.
Montblanc m146 & Waterman Carene
Ten inked up on my desk: Montblanc, Sailor, Platinum, Pilot, a few others.
Platinum Preppy is also an excellent EDC.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Best bang for the buck, definitely 😁
that a hard to ignore fp, I have the Chinese market Meteor which is a different styled Preppy
Now that was funny, don't forget the Pilot Varsity. LOL !!!
@@tbayless8324 Of course. You are right !
My everyday fountain pen right now is the Montblanc Glacier Doue! The cap adds a little sparkle to my day 🙂
I love that cap of the Glacier Doué. Compliments! 👏🏼
Most of the time I'm using my Pilot Custom 743 with a soft-medium nib. It has a nice size and is lightweight. 🙂
Great every day piece indeed
Thanks for another great video. My favorite everyday carry pen is the Pelikan M815 Metal Stripes.
Thanks to letting us know 🙏🏼
My favorite EDC is Montegrappa Zero(B) nib, Sailor Blue Dwarf (Zoom) nib and Esterbrook Estie Candy (B)nib.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Very good points and very good pieces
Caran d’Ache! No doubt
Swiss Made 🙏🏼

Yep, totally what i meant. But it does tick many boxes… 😄
Samuel, what's your opinion on Parker pens? Specifically on Duofold Chevron family?
Good pens - great history, but brand needs a new direction
I use Montblanc Meisterstück Edelharz No 146 LeGrand Füllfederhalter Bordeaux as my EDC fountain pen 🖋️
A classic… but special. Very nice!

Thanks for sharing!
Two pens should have been added to this list: Lamy 2000 and Pilot Custom 823.
Great EDC’S
My everyday 3pen carry is Pelikan M205, MB Heritage Rollerballpoint and CDA Ecridor BP.
👏🏼 cool, thanks for sharing!

Montblanc has a 5 Pen Pouch now and you can also get a wonderful Toyooka Craft Storage Box.
Glad to know you have these on your wishlist 🙏🏼👏🏼
Mine is the Waterman Exception
Cool! Thanks for sharing!

Cross peerless or aurora talentum which is better?
The Peerless writes very smooth, but way too heavy for your shirt pocket.

Thank you so much!
I don’t find it slippery, but some people might not like it.

Keep on going 🙏🏼💪🏼
Got a Kaweco Sport mellow blue on the way pairing with Pilot "Shin-Kai"
i had to reupload this since there was good 3 mins missing.
I assumed the Lamy 2000 would be on the list…
There are many pens that could be in the list. I wanted to focus on some models i covered less. 🙏🏼
👍👍👍👍
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My Porsche as my daily...first world probs here. ROFL
😂😂😂 you should come to Zug. More Porsches than VW’s
Maybe good material, but I stopped the video at the Bentley as your daily car :) Good luck anyway!
