The most underrated bait to catch big bass! I love the California Swim Jig with the R2S D-Walker or the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper for trailers. Great video
Griff's been listening then sneaking out to try a few new baits in y'alls clear waters.. ... and he's a fast learner...way to go!...Mucho respect Sir. Clear water can make 'ya go wacky
I like to put a zoom trick. Worm about I'd say 2/3 of the worm as a trailer behind my swim jig. The way it moves in the water is pretty enticing and I've done okay with it. I know I'm not the only one that does this but if you didn't know about it you should try it
Reins fat rockvibe is also a great paddle tail for jigs, really gets the rocking side to side. Picasso straight shooter (with the wire weed guards) is also a dope swim jig, the wire guards are money in wood.
Just threw my first bullslide today, in about 3 casts I landed an almost pb largemouth 😎 thank you for what you do sir. Now let’s watch some swim jig info
I was fishing near an old timer on Pickwick one day- fishing grass in the post spawn, and I wasn't catching anything to speak of but all morning I could hear this guy mumbling and then every once and a while he would say "... and sting like a bee!" and then just bury a hookset on a nice one. And I mean he was tearing them up- he was setting on a nice one just every few minutes. So finally, the curiosity got to me and I just rode over and started talking to the guy- we ended up having lunch together and I asked him- "What were you mumbling and saying and what where you fishing?" Turned out he was fishing a swim jig and he was saying "Float like a butterfly..." to himself over and over as he fished it, and when he would get bit, he would say "...and sting like a bee!" and then set the hook. He said it was something he learned to say to himself while fishing a swim jig to remind him constantly to slow it down, keep it high in the column, like it's just floating along- and when they bite, he said if you say "and sting like a bee" that gives them just enough time to take it and turn their head so you get a good hookset. So, I don't mumble to myself but, I do fish it like he described and man- it really works. A lot of guys call it the "Alabama shake"- you just keep your rod tip up and kind of shake it as you retrieve, but it's tiny shakes, almost imperceptible- just makes the jig buck and stay high in the column and slows it down. Works best around grass or pads or something during the spring and early post spawn. Once the shad spawn starts, we change colors, where we're fishing it, how we're retrieving it, etc. It gets easier then- it's just chuck and wind tbh. I also transition from the craw style trailer to a paddle tail during the shad spawn.
Thank you for a very educational training video. You mentioned that is is ok to hook up to direct braid so long as the fish are not line shy. Can you offer guidance on how I can know if the fish at Bartlett and Roosevelt are line shy? Thank you again.
Gambler ez swimmer is another great trailer option on the back of a California swim jig and the no jack swim jig. Love me the (in my Oliver Gny voice) Uoze swim jig as well! We need to see 1v1s with Geoff being a participant! 😁
A swim jig is an underrated technique, and so many freshwater anglers don't know when to use a swim jig or how to correctly set one up. I caught my pb largemouth bass (10.2lbs) a few years ago on a swim jig. Since then, I haven't caught a bass over 6lbs, which is why I've mostly transitioned to fishing big swimbaits for bass, over the last two years. Since I started fishing big swimbaits, I haven't caught one bass on a big swimbait, even though I have the right rod/reel/line for what I'm throwing, and I know how to work the baits. I have probably at least $1000 in swimbaits that I have bought over the last two years, and none of them have caught me a bass. There's probably a reason as to why I haven't caught a bass on a big swimbait yet, but for now I'll just say that I'm ridin' the skunk train. (skunk train means that you are one of many other people who can't seem to catch a bass when they go out fishing).
Man I love swim jigs you guys always have stuff I have never hear of. My go too swim jig is a Nichols saber wing and of course a 6th sense swim jig. But I like idea of the jdm ideas as well. Also I am a angler where where 100 bucks is my limit for reels. I am looking at the Lew’s LFS or the Shimano SLX, what are you thoughts on those two reels? Thanks
A non JDM swim jig that I honestly was super impressed with especially in skinny water or ponds is the Googan Baits swim jig. It's a smaller hook and very compact presentation and very well built with premium components. But I'm gonna have to get my hands on a couple of those Jackall's as well as the deps. That flapper trailer looks money as well. I'm a shallow water guy so those smaller presentations are my fave.
I swear u be reading my mind Bro was talking to TH-camr on live yesterday that I needed swim jigs for my Berkley power wigglers an boom swim jig video I was like no way lol. But I think u forgot to also add the deps Violator jig which can be a swim jig or a grass jig or flipping but can be used as a swim jig cause of the shape of the head I love em I got 2 of em skirt really looks nice underwater.
Today I finally learned how "Uoze" is pronounced. Only problem I've had is the blade occasionally falls out but megabass has great customer service replacing them.
Nice I love fishing that is what I am all about noeone wants to watch me though I am just a kid 😂 but I have been working hard on it for a year If you have time I would actually like some suggestions!!
@@omione5449I thought it was only for the lower end rods. Essentially they seem to be the fancy Daiwa rods basically. I just can’t seem to bring myself to spend 600$ on a JDM rod thats not Made in Japan.
@@Shadowtech2024 I feel the same way. It hurts when you drop some serious coin on a rod and it says Made in China. I have a destroyer 18 evolucion and i believe it said it was assembled in Japan. Destroyer USDM and JDM, Orochi, and Valkyrie all made in China. Megabass is overpriced in the US for sure.
River2Sea D walker is a great trailer option. Stiffer plastic which causes more wobble and makes the skirts dance even better
TacticalBassin baby!
Hell yeah and that thing has a great wobble even has head movement hole body shimmys great bait i use it on alot of shit
Been watching Matt Allen..haventcha?
Maybe
The most underrated bait to catch big bass! I love the California Swim Jig with the R2S D-Walker or the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper for trailers. Great video
The California swim jig was designed with help from Matt Allen of tactical bassin a while ago, an awesome one for sure!
Try them with 6th sense divine swimbait. It's my go to its stiffer and move them well.
@@ship4427 the river2sea d walker is the same kinda idea but bigger. Either one works but the stiffer swimbaits are required for the cal swim jig

What did you use on the hook of the uoze to put the sprinkler tail on it?
That Conquest 904 is incredible and has many uses...lipless, smaller swimbaits and of course swimjigs

Awesome! Awesome! I love that soft plastic, the one that OSP makes and the one that deps makes. Congratulations
I have been crushing on the Uoze w 5in spark shad! 6.45lb,5.7lb, and 4.5lb LMB as some 3lb Smallies!
Swim jig is an absolute year round staple for me
That sprinkler tail on the ouze swim jig... 👌
Nice video. Love the California swim jig with a Keitech or Gambler trailer. Looking forward to the 1 v 1 - Ben v Geoff swim jig contest. 👍🎣
Do the Teckel Sprinkler Tail's come with hardware to attach them to a hook like that? If not, what are you using to hook them up to the jig?
What a cool idea with the teckel frog boots.. keep em coming. :)
Uoze and a 3.8 inch Keitech is killer.

I got to get me a Megabass swim jig with that spinner tail. That would work so good in Alabama
Every time I watch your video’s. This is what I see. The villain on Despicable Me. The guy with the glasses and the orange jumpsuit. Lol
Thank you? 😂

Great Job informative Sir! I do love the Jig.
Where would you put the Zappu PD Chopper in your list of situations to fish a swimjig.
Just bought the Dark Sleeper rod, which is absolutely 🔥 I’m just about ready for the swim jig bite!
You’re going to love the rod!
any chance in hell of a Bcrawl flapper restock with a GP-chartreuse addition to current selection? these things are tough to track down anywhere...
Whens bhites evergreen swim jig coming out?
Great bait, when will hook up tackle have more deps cover scats
What about the deps kontour jig? Are you restocking the 1/2oz colors anytime in the future?

War baits swim jig is a beast too

great video question when you are using the Teckel tail what do you use to keep it on the hook
I use the Decoy Silicone grippers below and above the swivel.

Nice tips thank you

Looks like ill be placing another order 😂
The Sprinker tail on the back of the Uoze is pretty fuckin genius, I wont lie. What hardware are you using to fasten to the hook?
He puts the sprinker tail on fuckin everything
God forbid Ben sees more than 9 million of anything.
👍
Wait, have I been pronouncing Keitech wrong this whole time??!!
Nice stuff but badly understocked
More money out the door
dude are you eating something that we cant see ? whats up with smacking your lips
very annoying!!!
