@@IATEALLTHECHEESE Me too. Saria is easily one of my favorite Zelda characters, maybe even at the top of that list. Kokiri Forest is also still my favorite Zelda location. When I was a kid for a while the Great Deku tree dungeon scared me so I spent a lot of time in Kokiri Forest. It's fate in Windwaker deeply saddens me.
I choose to believe that the Great Deku Tree transformed the Kokiri into the Koroks as a way to protect them. In OoT it was said that the Kokiri would fade away or die if they ever left their magical forest, so my thought was that after the flood they started to fade away and the Great Deku Tree gave them bodies that could survive in the new world.
In Zelda 2, we have a coastal town named Mido, where most towns in the game are named after the sages. And we have a Kokiri kid named Mido. If the Downfall timeline had featured at least one town named after the random kid who blocked your path in Ocarina Of Time, he would've needed to perform some great act of heroism to get his name exalted to a status similar to that of the sages, at least from a lore perspective (we all know they wouldn't have thought about the timeline that far ahead in the past before Ocarina Of Time). Could it be that in the Downfall timeline, the Kokiri children were forced to leave the very forest that protected them and died out in battle against Ganondorf? And in both the Child and Adult timelines, they didn't need to, they were safe?

@@GrimmShadowsII I've always been in the camp where Dragon Roost Mountain = Death Mountain (complete with Valoo being the (more benevolent) descendant of Volvagia). Hyrule Encyclopedia actually flat out states that Dragon Roost Island = Zora's Domain (coupled with Forest Haven = Kokiri Forest and Greatfish Isle = Lake Hylia). My own take: Dragon Roost Mountain could still be Death Mountain, its location merely shifted to be closer to Zora's Domain (geological shifts are a thing as well according to HE, thus why there are massive chasms in TP, which also would explain why the Temple of Time shifted from near Hyrule Castle to Faron Woods in TP). This also assumes one takes HE as fact.
If you look at all the games the geography of Hyrule is hardly consistent, lost woods sometimes being NW of Hyrule Castle and sometimes being SE for example. So it's better to go by landmarks then location. Then again looking at the example I mentioned thats not always reliable as atleast in the downfall timeline the Master Sword tends to be in the lost woods instead of a temple. So there's plenty to theorize about.
@@GrimmShadowsII And as I stated, HE notes that geological shifts take place, which is their explanation of why geography between games doesn't always match up. Case in point, Temple of Time (I personally think this was intentionally shifted as to deny the general public easy access to such a game-changing location). In TP, The Temple of Time has further degraded where the building is no longer present, and it's only remains are the pedestal that contains the Master Sword and the stone statues...this is likely what happens in other titles in different timelines such as LTTP where, again, only the pedestal is present.
Yeah I'm working my way, on and off, through HE. My guess though is the lost woods where the Master Sword is found isn't the same lost woods from OoT, the woods grew around where the temple had once been and was just called lost woods because of stories/legends mentioning a lost woods and centuries later they didn't know there had once been a forest somewhere else so just referred to the only one they knew about as the lost woods.
@@Xman_0613 Makes it even more depressing when you realize that Wind Waker Link isn't even a reincarnation of the goddess chosen hero like other links and was instead just a genuine normal 12 year old kid dragged into a crazy legend because ganondorf's bird mistook his little sister for another girl.
And yet it also has the best ending. It seems that not only is Ganondorf killed, but Demise's curse is defeated for good. Hyrule is washed away at last. The ancient cycle is broken. The legacies of time that shackled the people of this part of the world have finally been cast free, and Hylia's reincarnation and descendent are free to create their new legends at last. The fact that Saria is remembered only by her song, is both amazing aswell as unsetteling Her house now looks so lonely :( Also the fact that the deku tree in this game is the sprout from OoT, growing inside the great deku tree is so interesting yet pretty disturbing. It might be possible that when the second tree is dead, the two trees might conjoin/overlap, and form a hollow mountain, with withered shrubs on the inside, and healthy ones on the outside.. but that is a different timeline.... It's pretty interesting how both trees have been infected by monsters, as ganondorf is trying to hide their wisdom by killing them. Pretty dark. One of the many many things I love about TLOZ, the infinite connections between games. It’s so clever. I love how they recycle some of the music as well, not always just playing the same soundtrack, but modifying the songs somehow.
Both. The sequel for The Hero of Time after Zelda sends him back and he changes the past = MM. The sequel for Hyrule's original timeline that The Hero of Time left behind = WW.
easy tbh the sequel to oOt is Majoras mask the sequel to WW is phantom hourglass WW and oOt are not a part of each other the only relation they have the the hero of time is the hero of winds ancestor.
Love Windwaker!! Your videos are so informative and thorough! I kind of always understood the forest haven as the kokiri forest...it just made sense to me at the time lol
@@dexeronstarsurge I believe the deku tree we see im Wind Waker is not the Deku tree sprout from ocarina of time and is instead one of his descendants. I sure deku tree sprout had ample time to grow large and evolve with changes, possibly raising kokiri forest during the flood and sacrificing his own body to protect kokiri forest. It wasn't perfect so the forest split, the kokiri changed to korok and they slowly left the carcass of the great deku tree who was once a sprout and the area slowly become the forbidden forest. Thats why forbidden forest is dark becuase the wood is old. A new deku tree grew where forest haven is and that's why it's wood is lighter because its not as old as the forbidden forests wood. I assume the great deku tree's consciousness passes through fhe generations. Imagine growing up and dying over and over. Each life gives the guardian spirit fhe chance to slowly evolve himself to suit the changes
Man I never noticed Saria's house in there... that's quite creepy. I need to go back and have a look now lol I wonder how the island became all brambly, though? The new Deku tree's roots, maybe?
So many hidden details that make SO much more sense when you explain them. These games are so intertwined its amazing I especially like the music comparisons!!

Seeing the comparison and that last music comparison just broke me ;o;
Seeing Saria's house made me feel such lament. And with you Zeltic, telling the story, pointing that out, and playing some melancholy music. Made it felt more impactful. Thank you and Bravo.
A little late to watching this, but I had to wait until I played Windwaker so I could fully understand for myself. Honestly it's your videos that make me more invested in the Legend of Zelda timeline and history each and every day. Not to mention, you have the perfect tone of voice and pacing to compliment the info you shed light on. I can't stress this enough, it's so important in any kind of storytelling, and I had to point it out. Incredible as always, keep up the amazing work Zeltik!
On one hand great video On the other hand this has been the most basic level theory about the wind Waker. Like I remember being on forums over 10 years ago discussing this
And he said that very thing at the beginning of his video. My guess is that he just had a couple of extra points to show, and people have been asking for the comparison
I believe Korok's are the original form of the forest spirits, changing into Kokiri after Link was adopted in OoT. I like to think they wanted to comfort baby Link, so they adopted forms similar to his mother, and then changed into other children to give him companionship as he got older. After Link left and the tale of him became just a legend, they reverted back to their old forms.

@@nonoctoro4933 despite all that, I still present the mangas as canon (the difference being I know it's not) so others' are bound to present the encyclopedia as canon as well

I'd rather think that Fire Mountain is Death Mountain
Hey zeltik
I love your videos btw
Oh wow I got a lot of likes wow thanks
Average boi 316 did you remember to ch?

The fact that Saria is remembered only by her song, is both amazing aswell as unsetteling
Her house now looks so lonely :(
Also the fact that the deku tree in this game is the sprout from OoT, growing inside the great deku tree is so interesting yet pretty disturbing.
BUT, a way to revive the legacy of the Deku tree, the quest in tww allows you to save the withering korok's trees
Absolutely brilliant. You spotted and compared things that probably no-one else had done, especially the music!
Zeltik: Makes Zelda theory video
Nintendo: Watches video
Also Nintendo: nYES this was ALL INTENTIONAL :D
I think it would be funnier if this is how it went.
Aonuma: hey, Shigero, did you mean for this to mean this?
Miyomoto: no, of course not, why would you...?
*shows him Zeltik*
Miyomoto: I mean... OF COURSE I meant it to mean that!
Zeltik, the amount of nostalgia you pour into your videos and great calm story telling just invokes all the emotions we had when we explored these locations before. Keep up the great content as always, looking forward to seeing which island you cover next.
@Zeltik
So, since it's obvious that the Forbidden Forest is Kokiri Forest, where is OoT Link's house, meaning, can it be found in the area?
Mind blown again, well done mate. Great video as always, enjoy it a ton!
The reason I love Zelda games. “The best dungeons always has a story behind it” facts
This is probably my favorite theory youve done to date. I love hearing about these things that I miss. The Zelda series will forever have that magic about it.
Great theory!! I love your WindWaker theories.
Your theory’s are absolutely incredible. This brings back so many memories.
This is fantastic. Thank you, I never made the connection before
I mean, i had suspicions, but i never had the interest to do my research. Thanks @Zeltik for doing the hard work for me :)
When I have first seen the thumbnail, my first thought was "well duh! I can tell from the Deku Tree and Fado" but when you presented the evidence about the forbidden woods being the village in Kokiri Forest, that gave me Cloud Atlas levels of goosebumps.
"her house remains"
Me, through tears: wow
anyone else get goosebumps at the end of his intros? when those violens drop? you know you're in for a good video. Zeltik = high quality knowledge and passion. thank you for always making my day better with these videos.
Is this going to be a series
Because I could totally watch more of this
that's actually a sad theory.. but a really interesting and convincing one! that's a great video zeltic, keep up the good work!
The Red King pretty much states that Windfall is in fact the higher point of Kakariko village.
Quote?
@@_Teej_264 The red king says "But... each temple
should have another entrance high upon Hyrule's mountaintops, which are now
islands above the sea." So if you take they Hyrule from oot and think about what place matches with what in ww you can guess that Windfall was that hill above Kakariko Villiage.
connections like this are part of what make the Legend of Zelda series amazing. the attention to detail is always astounding.
I just found your channel I’m hooked lol
This is the kind of stuff that reminds me why I LOVE the Zelda games so much. And how it mirrors my feelings on how I want my son to play these games, to experience these games by venturing through the same places and conquering the same dungeons the same way that I did, retracing the same steps I took in decades long past.
The sped up Forest Haven music got me boppin' \o/
It sounds so damn nice!
This video gave me chills down my spine. Really good work!
I always assumed that Forest Haven was the Great Deku Tree's Meadow and the Forbidden Woods was the village portion of Kokiri Forest.
Your videos are just amazing Zeltik! You make me love all these places even more, and now I appreciate Wind Waker much more then before. Thank You!
I can imagine Link's reaction to seeing Saria's hut and suddenly feels a sudden strain...a sensation of longing. He feels like something is missing... He doesn't know why exactly but can't deny that feeling. Saria's name escapes his lips and he can't help but feel like he is missing an old friend. He unfortunately unable to get sentimental or nostalgic because he has a job to do and time is still a factor... whether in his last quest, this one, or the next.
But... that’s the Hero of Time. The Hero of Winds doesn’t know their existence.
@@catalyst539 Reincarnation often comes with nostalgia. Just look at Avatar.
That makes 0 sense.
i only recently stared to get more into the lore of the games, starting with breath of the wild because there were so many links ( haha ) to the previous games. and your channel does it best. your videos are super interesting and your story telling paired with your soothing voice is perfect! i always look forward to what you have planned next.
Why am i crying.... did saria bury links boomerang in her house?
i knew the basics of this theory, but I am in awe about the extra details you provided. The final music comparison between the HoTs theme being augmented in the Forbidden woods actually made my jaw drop.
I love your theorys! I hope you keep making this stuff!!
Awesome video. I'd often wonder the same thing when I used to play that. Especially because of the Great Deku Tree being there. There's so much to support it.
Hey Zeltik do you know if hoopsandhiphop ever plans on making more remixes?
You're a great host, Zeltik. I really like hearing your theories and stories, too. And your voice is nice to listen to. Keep doing what you're doing; you've got a new subscriber here!
This video was amazing. You connected everything beautifully, like a real story teller. I even got teary eyed at the Syria part. Masterful writing.
*Saria
One of the many many things I love about TLOZ, the infinite connections between games. It’s so clever. I love how they recycle some of the music as well, not always just playing the same soundtrack, but modifying the songs somehow.
Which is the *real* squeal? MM or WW.
OMG!! MM UPSIDE DOWN IS WW!!!!!
Majora is the real sequel
Both.
The sequel for The Hero of Time after Zelda sends him back and he changes the past = MM.
The sequel for Hyrule's original timeline that The Hero of Time left behind = WW.
the real *squeal* lmfao
easy tbh the sequel to oOt is Majoras mask the sequel to WW is phantom hourglass WW and oOt are not a part of each other the only relation they have the the hero of time is the hero of winds ancestor.
Love Windwaker!! Your videos are so informative and thorough!
I kind of always understood the forest haven as the kokiri forest...it just made sense to me at the time lol
The forbidden woods is the lost woods, and the forest haven is the corpse of the great deku tree. That's my before video guess
Yeah. And if i remember correctly, the deku tree in this game is supposed to be the Deku Sprout grown up.
Forbidden woods isn't the lost woods because it has the hut shaped houses from kokiti forest in it, so its kokiri forest.
@@kevincloud574 well the sprout emerged and immediately told Link his history so it must inherit its parent's memories.
How or why did it take me so long to find your channel?!?! Love the videos man, keep up the great work
Man I never noticed Saria's house in there... that's quite creepy. I need to go back and have a look now lol I wonder how the island became all brambly, though? The new Deku tree's roots, maybe?
Great video as always ! Good job Zeltik ^^
I dont know why or how it registered in my brain, but i legit thought the thumbnail said "foreskin forest"
Your name and pfp says it.
@[DATA EXPUNGED] ah yes
This was a well done video. I can't believe I never noticed the small houses in the Forbidden Forest.
Hmm... It might Forest Haven might have been the Kokiri.
The Great Deku tree there. So why not.
So many hidden details that make SO much more sense when you explain them. These games are so intertwined its amazing
I especially like the music comparisons!!

I already figured the Forest Haven was the Great Duku Tree and the Forbidden Forest was the Lost Woods but for some reason I missed ALL the similarities to the Kokiri Village having been absorbed by the Lost Woods and all those structures in the temple are houses in the original. Seeing the comparison and that last music comparison just broke me ;o;
Theory? Nah bro. This is a fact. With all the proof you presented... It might as well be confirmed.
Seeing Saria's house made me feel such lament. And with you Zeltic, telling the story, pointing that out, and playing some melancholy music. Made it felt more impactful. Thank you and Bravo.
I can't figure out how to Ch...please send instructions
All you have to do is 👉🏻
I had no idea that the parallels with Ocarina of Time went so far. That's really nice attention to detail.

Me: WAIT WAT
A little late to watching this, but I had to wait until I played Windwaker so I could fully understand for myself. This blew my mind, just like all the other theories that your channel's made me aware of!
On one hand great video
On the other hand this has been the most basic level theory about the wind Waker.
There is lore to explain this already.
Loved this video Zeltik! The way you explain your theories with suspense and comparisons is so well done. I really enjoy your vids
so early that there is no views
This is your best theory yet, keep up the good work. I actually got a little emotional while listening to this one.
wait you mean this isn't official? i've never met anyone who thought it *wasn't* the remains of kokiri forest.
Same I always thought that too

Man, you make me love and appreciate these games even more. 🙌
Can you do more videos on zelda songs being remixed into other zelda games
