Started listening to Paddy when I was 15 Haven't stopped, had the opportunity to see him live a few times and meet him great man, I'm 52 now and still love sitting in the sun on Sunday morning listening to Paddy.

You got to admire any man or woman that sings in their own accent straight from the heart..most of what we hear now days is forced falsetto type singing as if the person singing is in severe pain. That combined with every conceivable digital manipulation to contrive what is now called modern music. Even country music is gone to the dogs. The only ones I listen to are Adele and Ed Sheeren.

My, my , my....what a lovely song. I was in Dingle recently with my father. It was our first and only trip to Ireland, given his age. I'll return someday with my son, but to hear this wonderful combo of acoustic guitar and fiddle play this song literally brought me to tears. What a joy. Thank you for posting this.

I heard a beautiful version of this song sung in a pub in County Cork by a young Irishman with a guitar. It was so heartfelt the whole pub was enchanted by the song and his voice. I must return to Ireland again to listen, sing and play music with these gifted musicians.

It's only like yesterday when I first heard Paddy sing this song at the regular folk concerts that were held in Liberty Hall, Dublin way back in 1967 on a Friday Night. This is Not an Irish ballad ..
