Appreciate the comment and the support! 🙏🏽 And I have thought about it, but there’s so many options and experiences that people are looking for, I’m not sure yet how to make a video around the topic. I’ll definitely keep it in mind, though!
Hi, great and thorough review. I was very much looking forward to this one. It looks like you had a positive experience overall with the Renew Ride 3. Since you also did a review of the Zoom Span 4, which of these two shoes would you recommend for casual use, walking, and light jogging?
I would recommend the Renew Ride 3 over the Zoom Span 4! They both feel very similar when it comes to the “flat” feeling of the silhouette, but I’ve had a better experience for those things with the Renew Ride 3. The Span 4, though, will give you a bit of a snappier/responsive experience because of the Zoom unit within the midsole. At that point, depend on the experience you’re looking for. Hope that helps and thanks for the support!
Came across an old pair of nikes I had called that were just caller Renew, I really enjoy wearing them and am trying to get a more recent model, the only problem is I found out the that theres the renew ride, and the renew run. I cant figure out which one is better as theres no comparison videos but if anyone knows which one would be better for daily training from 3-10 miles at a fairly quick pace it would be greatly appreciated🙂
Yes! I would recommend these over the Quest 4 simply because of the wider fit and the stability that they provide. The quest 4 isn't terrible, I simply had a better experience with these.
Nice review as always. Is this renew ride 3 more comfortable/ better looking (your opinion) for casual wear than the renew retaliation 3 (training shoe, I know, but I like the style) ?
Yeah, I would choose this one over the Retaliation 3 for casual wear! The overall design is more comfortable and also looks a little better on-feet than the Retaliation. The Retaliation is great, but it feels a little more restrictive and not as comfortable because of its design. Thank you as always for the support! 🙏🏽
how does this compare with the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 3 in terms of support/stability? which one do you think would work better for overpronation?
Can you review the winflo 9 and the downshifter 12 and compare them to this renew ride? Nike has way too many offerings in this price range and they are all interesting.
Agree 100%! It's hard to differentiate them with how close in price they are. But yes, I already had videos planned for both of those shoes and the Quest 5. Comparison videos might take a bit, but I'll get to them!
It depends on the type of experience you're looking for! The Ride 3 has a midsole that's more rigid, but that translates to decent stability and support while running. On the other hand, the Run 3 has a way softer midsole, which helps with impact reduction as your feet hit the ground. Because of this, though, the stability on the shoe is primarily coming from the heel due to the TPU heel clip. Hope that helps!
Both are great, but I have to choose the Ride 3! I wore them around my home in Mexico almost every day when I got them, and I didn't want to take them off. They are comfortable too, which obviously helps a lot if you're walking for longer periods of time. Hope that helps!
Hey, when i run , i feel like both the legs move/roll inwards.. i did not have this feeling in any other shoes, they are completely flat. Is that normal in running shoes, esp this run 3? The shape of this shoe is also so much curved at the center. Is that bcoz of that? My legs are also paining when I use this shoes.
Hi, I know you mentioned on the video that it's true to size for you but do you mean that your actual heel-to-toe size is really size 11? or it's 10.5 and you got a half size up? And if your feet size is really 11 is it too tight on the toe box area since you also got the shoe size is 11 or there is still room to expand when you run?
Cause I tried the Nike Run Swift and I'm size 9.5 it fits perfectly but when I tried the Nike "Renew" though, I'm not sure if it's the same as this Renew Ride 3, my feet won't fit in on the same size 9.5 shoe.
The fit will vary depending on the model, so it really depends. I get, for the most part, shoes in US size 11 to keep a "standard" when testing them (since 11 tends to be the size that works best for me). But there's some shoes, like the Zoom Fly SP, that I've gotten in the past in 10.5 and they work too. It really depends on the materials as well, because a shoe with a Flyknit upper won't fit the same as something with an upper like the one on this Renew Ride 3. My recommendation is to try the shoes in person if possible, or take advantage of Nike's trial period for them. Hope that helps!
Great video, I would like you to help me choose, I am between the revolution 6 and the renew ride 3, which one would you choose to jog daily and train?
I have come to love the Revolution 6 for casual wear, but when it comes to performance (jog and training), I have to choose the Renew Ride 3! It quickly became one of my favorite shoes for performance due to its stability and flat feel against the ground. Also, it's pretty wide which makes it pretty comfortable and roomy. Hope that helps!
Oh wow! Price point is what makes them good in the US, but, as much as I love this shoe, I don't know if $120USD (or equivalent) is worth it. Thanks for the insight on prices!
Hey, I'm recovering from knee injury, so I need cushion to prevent impact. Do u think this shoes would be good? Ps: I also need stability, which I'm sure this shoes has! 🤙🏽
I think this one would be a great option! If you want something that feels slightly more cushioned, though, I'd recommend checking out the Pegasus 38 (I haven't tested the 39 yet). The React foam on that shoe is slightly more cushioned, which will help with impact reduction. Also, the shoe is very stable and versatile, so you can use it for other stuff as well. Hope that helps and speedy recovery!
I'd recommend going true-to-size for these! If you're comfortable with the way the Winflo 7 fits, then that same size will work for this one. Please do keep in mind that these are a bit wider compared to the Winflo 7, and they will feel different because of this. Hope that helps!
Does heel rub in Achilles as 1st version Renew Run? On 10 mile run what are the impressions? How much sensation below differs to 1st version? I have bursitis from 1 km run in 1st model. But I loved cushion under it. For example Peg 37 React I really hate. I don't mind heaviness. Thanks. Good review. Hug for doggy. :-))
The achilles is covered by the cushioning around the collar, and it does a great job at keeping the ankle locked without causing discomfort. I didn't get to try the 1st version of these, but they are definitely better than the 2nd! The overall fit is better, and they provide a more stable experience. They are not as soft/bouncy as the Renew Run 1/2, so just keep that in mind. The foam for these is more about stability and structure. Appreciate the comment, I will let the dogs know about that hug! 🐶
@@PMBShoes Hey, when i run , i feel like both the legs move/roll inwards.. i did not have this feeling in a local branded shoes which is completely flat. Depends on what you're looking for! I think these are perfect and comfortable enough to wear with your regular size, but if you want a more narrow fit you can go half-size down. Hope that helps!
Depends on the experience you're looking for! The Ride 3 will be more stable and flatter against the ground, but not nearly as cushioned and responsive as the Run 3. If you prefer a bouncy, cushioned feeling, the Run 3 is a safer bet. Hope that helps!
They provide a lot of stability for flat feet and room for wider feet. It's worth noting, though, that they don't have a lot of support at the arch, so this could play a role into your experience with them. I'd recommend trying them on first, if possible, to make sure they have the type of fit that you're looking for. Hope that helps!
Just for running, I have to give the edge to the Run 3. Both are great, but they provide different experiences, and I simply prefer the slightly bouncier and more cushioned midsole on the Run 3. The Ride 3 is a bit more stable, though, but it works better as a multi-purpose shoe. Hope that helps!
It depends on how you wear them. Casually, I prefer the Ride 3 as it feels more flexible and closer to the ground which helps when walking around a mall, for example. For running, they are both pretty comfortable, but I think the Winflo 8 does have an edge because its midsole is more cushioned. Out of the two, the upper on the Ride 3 is probably the one I prefer for comfort, but the one on the Winflo 8 feels more durable. Hope that helps!
They’re not the most breathable, unfortunately, so not a lot of air flow. But the upper isn’t terribly heavy or thick, which helps with reducing the heat retention. Hope that helps!
Nike Renew is awful. I never had any knee problems while running for 10+ years but my knee suddenly gave out while wearing these. I had to be on crutches for months. I haven't had any knee problems since I ditched these.
Sorry to heat that! The first version of Renew did the same thing to me, and it's definitely a very frustrating situation to be in. We appreciate your insight!
They are quite awful. I have used several running, tennis and walking shoes before and never have I never experienced numb feet after just 20 mins of running

They really are! I'm truly convinced this Renew Ride is great for the price, it's just a matter of testing durability after some time.
Ride 3 vs run 4 which is better ?

Yes! I would recommend these over the Quest 4 simply because of the wider fit and the stability that they provide.
