I really liked it, borderline loved it. Honestly, it generally creeped me out a few times, and it takes a lot these days. For that alone I give it a recommendation. Great acting by the leads, and while not really an original movie per say, it still felt fresh. And it's really creepy at times. Not a boring movie to me at all and I really liked the lead character. I am leaning towards an 8/10
I watched this last night and this was creepy as hell , that last scene when in Isaac's bedroom on top of him the imagery in that was sooooo creepy....
I only became aware of this movie like 12 hours ago. Just based on the title I have to watch this because how funny is that? I really appreciate this channel because you guys are on the front lines. I swear sometimes I think you guys review movies that haven’t even been made yet. Keep on kicking ass.
Just watched it on Shudder, along with Oddity and Azrael. Wasnt bad but i thought it was gonna be better. The other two movies were better, especially Oddity, which was great imo!

I think the smoke was a crashed spaceship(someone else's theory) and that it's an alien who can shapeshift and "mimic" things it sees and hears. Notice that at the end, that picture found of the dad was the same face that the creature was always making.
I thought this film was really really good. The imagery and photography along with the acting and writing were top. The creepiness is an encompassing void that was truly pitch. As an alien invasion film it is up there. Thoroughly enjoyed. Waiting to see what this filmmaking team comes up with later down the road. I see a big future for them.
Interesting movie. Beautiful set design and cinematography. Decent acting. Lackluster conclusion. Still worth the watch. However with the basic overall premise with dealing with grief I will say the Babadook does it better. Like you said though if anyone has seen Babadook and thought it was dull, then watching Daddys Head is not for them.
Guys, did you see the official trailer for Nosferatu? It dropped 12 days ago and I had NO idea, flew past me. They don't reveal the monster, which is good. The atmosphere looks absolutely FANTASTIC and bleak.

To tell you the truth I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it, out of 10 stars I’m giving it a 6. It’s just the climax came very quickly and it was some what anti climactic, and the ending was so abrupt.
I don't need to "like" main characters, I felt for the boy and that's the main thing: plagued by grief, the supernatural, and a bunch of rich, unsympathetic adults who don't know what to do with him; he was trapped
Apparently I need to rewatch Babadook because everyone seems to really like it but when I watched it I couldn’t even finish it. Think after 30 minutes I turned it off because I thought it was horrible. But maybe I need to give it another shot 🤷🏻♀️

@@MadailinBurnhope Yeah, the trailer and the final cut have completely different tones. The final cut almost feels like an A24 flick, but the trailer feels like retro horror comedy, eg. Re-Animator. My biggest complaint with the final cut was allowing us to eventually see the creature too clearly. Keeping it barely visible for ⅔ of the film made it really eerie!

No lore behind this movie AT ALL: where did the creature come from & why? why did the dad crash & how? why did it target to torment his gf? what happened to the black guy after the hospital did he survive? why didn’t they reach out to a priest or spiritual person that deals with demons? So many damn holes in this movie 😂 No lore at all. just a scary crawling demon with his pops face.
I had those same questions, that's why I came to this video. Did the alien creature kill the father in the first place? Was the smoke in the forest some sort of Flashback to the time when the crash happened? Is the point of that weird smoke scene? Was this an alien movie? And at the very end did the creature inhabit the mother? Because the altercation at the very end appeared as if the mother and the creature were one and the same just prior like as if the creature had shape shifted to the mother and he was hugging the wrong person. So did the shapeshifter Skinwalker take over the mother? That skull that he found at the end was clearly of the creature but if so then how could it be the mother at the end who appeared to look no older. When he went into the creatures Hideaway it was to find the truth but there was nothing but an old skull and what appeared to be a whole other world I came here for answers. I really liked the movie but I cannot stand the part where I don't have closure so in that sense I kind of have to hate the movie for leaving me so confused.

The smoke was from an alien ship that fell on Earth. The fire brigade probably couldn't find the source because the alien hid the craft and stopped the fire somehow. Or an automated fire control system put it out. No, the creature didn't inhabit the stepmother, she just looks the same because it's easier to film with the same actress. The boy goes from about nine to twenty years (20-something actor could also be playing a teen) old so while many years go by, it's not like the ending takes place several decades later or anything like that. As for his stepmother, adults don't typically age that much within a decade or so if they stay in decent health. At least the film tried by showing her from further away and with her hair messed up to create some slight obscurity to her aging or lack of. It did feel like the inside of the hideout was another world or something like that, but I think the film makers just wanted to give it an eerie atmosphere inside.
Movie sucked. Waste of time. Boring. The mom is basically an only fans "who or" that wears a see-through sleevless purple club dress the her husband's funeral, and seeks attention from the the obvious .001 percent of the rest of her family and friends. Couple of better parts the 2nd half of the movie, but still a bore fest. Much more scary to stare at your own ceiling in the dark looking for faces to form.
