If you're already doing proxy nexus, you may as well do proxy mothership.
I want to see this so badly!
iirc. proxying a mothership doesn't do very much because it doesn't spawn with enough energy to use mass recall so you'd still have to wait about the same amount of time no matter where you built the mothership.

12:30 you can control which side of the nexus they recall to by where they are in the recall-circle when you cast the spell - to ensure adepts are on the opposite side to the workers, and zealots (if any) are on the same side as the workers.

@@SPQR_14 Thermal handicaps himself by severely limiting his strategic options so, even if he's playing at lower ranks, it's still a level playing field. And, usually, anyone playing down-rank like that is doing so to try out sub-optimal strategies in the first place. So it isn't even uNique to uThermal; these people are basically complaining that they're a normal person losing in the Special Olympics.
Their problem is that they spend all their APM on bitching. Instead of actually playing and improving their game, their response is to bitch and bark at the opponent. If you _think_ you're already at a disadvantage, *why* would one do something so incredibly stupid as *further* handicapping themself by diverting focus and APM *away* from the game?
So yeah, we are kind of happy that they got crushed; not because they were up against a smurf, because we also celebrate when they win over the smurf when the game is good. We're happy they got crushed because they're an asshole; it's an evaluation of them as a person and has nothing to do with relative skill.

SC2 Ladder isn't even a regulated tournament, and smurfing isn't even remotely a crime. It isn't even breaking any rules of the Ladder. So he's playing the way he chooses to play, in a way that isn't against any rules, on a platform with no real stakes. It looks to me like _you're_ the one doing mental backflips trying to figure out how to frame it as badwrongfun.
And, more to the *actual* point I was making which I couldn't help but notice you ignored (A handy thing to do when you can't actually respond to it), even *if* your argument is that people are trying to climb the ladder, it doesn't change the fact that they aren't even bothering to improve their skill because they're too busy bitching and moaning. How, exactly, do you justify them starting off the match flaming their opponent if they were intent on climbing the ladder in the first place? I'll give you a hint; you can't. Anyone who would bother bitching about it was never going to improve in the first place; at least not until they changed their attitude. So them staying low on the Ladder was already a foregone conclusion; nothing actually changed between them going up against some at their rank or above their rank.

The game you're talking about at 10:30 ish I just watched recently. It's on here in a video titled "PROXY NEXUS IN ENEMY BASE!" posted by SC2HL. Basically he did what you said, but also hid a pylon in the very corner of the main in the chaos and warped units to it to end the game later. Very clever and off-the-wall.
In that game, SoS built a nexus in the terran's main, built a probe out of that nexus while the terran was killing it, hid that probe in the corner of the base, then built a pylon with it, and later warped in DTs from that pylon and won the game.

If this entire recording is possible you can rush 3base chargelots with +1 and 10+ gates just go 1 gas super early and proxy Nexus before gate
Okay, a challenge to GM series idea... "Phasers only" Protos which would be: Void Ray, Sentry, and Oracles. It gives you enough versatility to actually win (like Raven-Hellion, Ghosts, or the Cyclone-Widowmine challenges) and the fun thing would be finding out these beam unit's hidden strengths together through your playthrough. I'd love to see 10 voidrays float through a herd of Zerg Overlords like they're popping balloons with a laser. = ) *Edit, oh a battery's beam would fit in with the theme too..."
That SoS cheese was amazing. I remember that the deciding factor was Bunny not noticing the lights on the Nexus when SoS bulid a probe out the back of it (out of vision) to build the pylon for the DTs.

@@chrismerrell7957 That's not what happened... A smurf is a good player playing on a low account. He called him "trash" because he said he had no honor. In other words, a trashy person. The cheese was irrelevant, diamond is full of cheesers.
Winter might be responsible for so many Terrans making cyclones, he is a fan of it (1, maybe 2). Why? Good defense against units like early battlecruisers, lock-on and kite. Makes sense, but just one.
cyclones are nice but only vs terran and zerg 🤣

I used to play a lot of halo reach. I got to a high enough rank where I would bump into pros once in a while. I was hundreds of ranks maybe hundreds and hundreds of ranks lower sometimes but I would bump into them. I didn’t give a crap. It was awesome to watch them work I got owned. These StarCraft players are so whiny it’s amazing.

Is it possible to win the game by pulling the probes to battle either drone or scvs at early game? Because probes have shields that heal right?
Technically probes are at a major disadvantage, since zerg units regenerate even in combat, and scv's are stronger (and can repair eachother), whereas probes need to disengage for like 5 seconds for shield recharge to kick in.

Gold base gives you so much minerals that you can immediately afford another base with the gasses. so it was 100% worth it.
so I guess zergs benefit the most from maps where you can sneak a gold base even for a short while?
