      While Germany has added many roundabouts over the last two decades, very few are multi-lane. In single-lane roundabouts, you just have to worry about the cars in the roundabout, and those just about to enter it.

    • @trismegistus2881
      @trismegistus2881 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The same here in Belgium. Multilane roundabouts are rare, and in most places where they do exist, you can just stay to the right all the time if you prefer.

    Bains comes across as both fun and quite a confident driver. Though seeing her not use her mirrors or not having control of the wheel at times is pretty scary. It's kinda sad that once they get their licence, drivers ignore the mirrors when they're absolutely important to not hit people - especially cyclists. Same with the blind spots. Though I guess it's easy to become complacent when 99% of the time, nothing's there.

  • @africa3627
    @africa3627 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You should check inside the mirror every single time that you want to change the speed, turn left or right, start etc. Inside Mirror inside Mirror inside Mirror inside Mirror inside Mirror. A good driver must remember the speed limit. Know your Bus lane time etc. Don't just stop behind the car in front of you at the traffic light maybe if checked properly there is another space for stopping. I love driving manual and automatic. If I'm in the UK I prefer automatic transmission when I'm in Europe I prefer manual. Changing gear on the right hand is the best

    I think driving instructors make driving harder by not being realistic about how people actually drive. Learner drivers have to follow more rules than actual drivers on top of not knowing how to drive. Maybe some more truths about how people actually do things will be helpful. Whether illegal or not. Just to create that free spirited environment required for good driving.

    • @another_coding_channel_argh

    • @TheSGRob
      @TheSGRob 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      our job isn't to get new drivers to drive the way idiots on the road do, that would lead to the general standard of driving always dropping. And learner drivers have to follow the same rules as actual drivers, it just so happens that once most people have passed they let their ability slip. This is the sign of a good instructor, not only someone who can get a student through their test, but someone who gives that student the ability to teach themselves once they've passed, to be able to analyse their own driving and to correct mistakes.
      Can you imagine if while on a lesson i said to a student something like "you can check your mirror and put a left signal on here to leave the roundabout safely, but you don't have to because most other drivers are too lazy and inconsiderate to do that"
      The vast majority of people's driving ability is likely to drop a little after passing, the higher we set that bar the less of an issue it is if that happens.

    • @another_coding_channel_argh
      @another_coding_channel_argh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSGRob this makes sense. Do you think only history is responsible for instructor's teaching to fall through the cracks or instructors just need to not allow the cracks to form even after a passed license test?

    • @jmdev8775

      Quite often, my instructor would say "this is what they want you to do", they being the examiners.

    I love these videos with friends/relatives, it feels way more human than the whole "robot examiner" vibes. I know that's the proper way to do it, but for videos at times it can feel a bit weird.
    BTW, in Spain the instructor is always legally the driver by default, even if there's a learner on the wheel. This goes hand to hand with the fact that here , if you don't have a license, you cannot legally drive without an instructor under any circumstance. Obviously, in this case, if a radar did go off, you could have said "I wasn't driving that day", but they wouldn't ask you by default.
    And I must say, that "I'm in the center, they can overtake me if they want" hurt me in the soul... too many people think that way, and then 3-lane roads turn into 2-lane ones :(

    I know this is super normal to rest your foot on the foot rest, well, because there's a foot rest for it, but I've never been taught that probably because it's so normal, and so I've always hovered my foot over the clutch throughout the whole journeys, and my foot starts to cramp eventually but it's manageable so no danger (trying to learn to rest it more because I realised)

      I do it too, having ridden a motorbike for years before driving, and being a drummer for a long time it feels so strange for me to have my foot to the side, i'd rather just pull it back a little. My legs and ankles are so adapted to that movement. My instructors never had an issue with it as i wasn't actually pressing the clutch.

    I live in a rough area where I'm being targeted with anti social abuse yet every other resident in this drive has a car, including all the youngsters.
    I don't understand how and why I have fallen into debts because of the money and hours I've invested in learning to drive yet still can't!
    If I don't pass and get my vehicle in 6 months, I'm making a promise here, I will attempt suicide.

      Hi I just want u to know don’t let something like this discourage you. Also I wouldn’t push something if u are not in the right frame of mind. I failed my first time but I knew I wasn’t ready so I just didn’t worry about it for a few years. Until I needed to but by then I was in a financial better position. I am sorry U feel like this and I can’t change ur mindset in one day but I’m praying for u. Jesus died to save u and these things mean nothing in the end but your life is far more precious. Jesus died and paid for your sins. And even if u feel everyone has been against u ur whole life u have sinned against God also so repent and find peace in Jesus. By God grace I pray u find peace.
      By the way gas is out of this world right now a car will probably put u in more debt. Gas one month going $4-500. Insurance too is high so I suggest take things slow. 🙏🏾💖.

      I gave u gas price for my car. I drive a SUV. Also never be jealous of what others have because they could and are likely struggling just like u. A car doesn’t change ur life or add any value. I suggest find something u enjoy doing. There is beauty in this life even though the world is getting worse and worse. Jesus ur only hope. Be bless.

      You should probably stop obsessing over a car and try get referred to a therapist or doctor. Driving isn't a make or break especially if you live in poverty. Try something new. Don't compare yourself to others that you are assuming in are in the same situation as you.

    • @DowellPa
      @DowellPa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have access to medical services or a professional of some kind to help you? If you are targeted by people, would it be possible for you to contact the authorities? There's no need to compare yourself to others on a simple material possesion. Most people can't afford their cars and driving is more stressful than ever. I've been driving for around 8 years and thinking about taking public transit because people and prices are crazy. Driving doesn't define you as a person.

    when I took My test in 1972, you had to keep both hands on steering wheel at all times unless changing gear or doing hand signals as you had to then as wel as using indicators.and the instructor use to tap your knee with a ruler if you kept your foot on the clutch, when not changing gear or stopping

    All these 20 limits make me sick. The amount of fuel going to waste when you could be in 4th gear doing 30 is nuts.

    I was in a terrible mood after getting pissed off by family members. I was too emotional and didn’t know what to do and how to get over it. I just thought I will watch a video which will help me progress in life instead of thinking about the spoilers. Thankgod this video came to me in right time and by the end of the video I feel so relaxed. This video was therapeutic ❤ thank u both 😊

    There is no point in driving manual cars as the are likely going to be obsolete in next 3-5 years. It’s fun in automatic. No worries to change gear . Just relax and press the break and acceleration. Life is already complex , don’t want to make it more complex when driving around - From a Happy Automatic licence holder 😀😊👍

      When I drive an automatic, I still as much shifting as I can. Going to neutral where reasonable, using engine braking if there is an option to do so, or even switching all gears manually if the car has that feature.

    Don’t pt the clutch down because you want to slow down. First you need to break and when the car is like stalling then you put the clutch down

      It’s not a fault, it’s just something I like to highlight to new drivers to avoid
      As they end up pressing the clutch down first when trying to stop, and this will get them into some trouble when they are driving independently
