If you don’t haggle enough they will outright rob you. It’s a line you have to be aware of. When I was in the navy I found it was better it pay a guide his wage. He will save you many times over just in the safety dept.
Rule number one: Whenever you meet a merchant in Nigeria, don't assume that they understand or speak Yoruba. Most of the merchants in Nigeria are Igbos and they do not speak Yoruba. For instance, at 18:03 he ignored your comment, because he doesn't speak Yoruba.

I used to work in one of the high rise buildings (pre-Covid) and I must say that navigating through the busy streets from the car park to my office everyday, is usually a challenge. They don't find that offensive, and they don't even notice they are being aggressive to foreigners who aren't used to such lifestyle, so to adapt you have to be aggressive too. One thing people have to contend with in markets like that is continues grabbing of the hand by vendors. Vendors grab your hand to get you to come buy their merchandise, you might have to be a little aggressive to get some of them off you. It’s even worse with ladies. For a foreigner it can be very offensive. They are a little less aggressive when you an Oyinbo though. Tommy might wanna know these few tips, to watch out for Jossey. Tommy will get a lot of attention too there as well.
Everytime I go back to Uganda for a short stay, I always meet a Ugandan young lady that makes my entire trip a blast/fun. They're just so beautiful, smart and so much fun to have around.
This is an open market bro. Is like you go to the flea market . You won’t get this experience if you go to grocery shops in Lagos. Shoprite for example is like Walmart. There are lots of other grocery shops scattered all over lagos

One thing people have to contend with in markets like that is continues grabbing of the hand by vendors. Vendors grab your hand to get you to come buy their merchandise, you might have to be a little aggressive to get some of them off you. It’s even worse with ladies. For a foreigner it can be very offensive. They are a little less aggressive when you an Oyinbo though. Tommy might wanna know these few tips, to watch out for Jossey. Tommy will get a lot of attention too there as well.

This is an open market bro. Is like you go to the flea market . You won’t get this experience if you go to grocery shops in Lagos. Shoprite for example is like Walmart. There are lots of other grocery shops scattered all over lagos
