That reflection shot at around 3:54 is pretty epic. Nice video again David - your POV street videos work both as photography videos and also as walking tours, so you can just idly watch them and enjoy the view even if you're not into photography.
Thanks Tim. I think talking through the shots, throwing some tips in there and a couple of decent music tracks is a nice balance. I'll hopefully refine them over time, but I really enjoy being able to just focus on the images without having to set up a camera each time👍
@@DavidFlowerOfficial Your format seems to be working well - you're getting a good chunk of views on every video. My scatter gun approach doesn't really suit all of my subscribers so the number of views tends to be quite low.
Yeah, I'm surprised how well it's going compared to the videos in the early summer. I think you're in a somewhat unique niche too. I love your tinkering etc, but had it not been for the vintage lenses, I'm not sure I'd have found your channel.
@@DavidFlowerOfficial Yeah, the vintage lenses are definitely the biggest draw, but I like my tinkering with weird stuff videos, so I'll just carry on blundering around and see what happens!!!
Also loved the reflection shots with those puddles! A nice detail that a lot of people probably wouldn't have noticed. A camera suggestion hasn't come to mind straight away but it could be interesting to dabble in film with street photography perhaps!
Yeah, I like the idea of film. I have a few film cameras that haven't been used in about 5 years. Might be worth blowing the dust off them for a video 😁

I was searching TH-cam to find out what people were doing with the SL1/SL2/SL3 9:28 series. I plan to use my SL1 for travel but have used it at a couple of outside events. I love the compact size and snappy performance. Whenever I see video from the UK (I am in the US) I am curious where it is filmed. I was pretty surprised I started realizing this was shot in Hull. I visited Hull in 2019 and had a great trip, but not much time for photography. If I get back there, I see quite a few things to shoot. And it might be with my SL1.

I got the sl3, my 1st dlsr n I love it. Could you do a night photography video with the 200d. I know would be a challenge because the low light proformance but could be a good challenge lol
I'd already thought about this. I'll probably make it one of the first videos in the new year👍
Quite a few photographers that I know have bridge cameras, maybe a street shoot with something like a Panasonic FZ200 to show it can be done?
I'm actually shooting tomorrow with a bridge camera if all goes to plan 🖖😁

There seems to be no buffer with your continuous shots compared to mine do you use the single shot af or servo af?
Not sure what you mean by no buffer. I'm using a fast card and never fire off more than 3 or 4 frames in a single burst so there's never a delay. Honestly don't remember what af mode I used though I suspect it's whatever Canon call there continuous af. If you're referring to the screen not blacking out between shots, that's just the frame rate the osmo used in auto exposure, the same happens on my Sony's in these videos.

Would you say this camera takes better pictures than the 600D? Im new to photography, not sure which one I should go for :)
I haven't used the 600d so I can't say. With the newer 200d you'll obviously get some newer tech, but I doubt it would be noticeable differences in a lot of cases. If you can get the 600d for less money, it might be worth looking at that one and spending the rest of your budget on lenses🖖😁

All the exif data is displayed on the images in the video including the lens. In this video I was using the simple 18-55 kit lens, the version iii if memory serves and yes, you can absolutely use the 50 f1.8 on the 200d and it’s an awesome combo🖖
would your recommend the 2000d? is it as similar to this camera?@@DavidFlowerOfficial
@joshuajohn74 while they’re both 24mpx apsc cameras that’s pretty much where the similarities end. The 200d is better in practically every way from the smaller size and weight to the better battery life, vari -angle touch screen, dpaf etc. in general with Canon the number somewhat indicates the feature set and capabilities of the respective camera. 4 digits (2000d etc) are the most basic entry point, 3 digits (200d) are usually more feature packed and double and single digits (90d and 7D) are usually aimed at those who need fast, robust and weather resistant cameras with all the pro features. So even though the 2000d is a slightly newer model than the 200d, it’s a significantly worse camera in terms of performance and features.
Which one you suggest I buy ? Sony A6400 , Sony A6100 , canon m50 mark ii , canon 200D mark ii. ? ;-)
I can't really speak about the M50 or the 200d mkii since I've never used them, but I do feel like mirrorless is the way to go. With that said, I'm not sure there's much point investing in the Eos m system at this point since there are rumours about an apsc RF mount camera coming in 2022. I switched to Sony almost 2 years ago and haven't regretted it. The a6300 I had was absolutely awesome and the a6100 and 6400 are just improvements on that. Pick which features you need for your intended use and go with that body🖖
Great video David! That reflection shot at 2:34 was mint and the Royal Mail guy all in red was like a modern-day Santa Claus! I definitely like the walking commentary a lot. I think my fav shot was the shadow shot at 9:30! Quick question, right at the end of the video at 10:12, there is a massive statue...is that Queen Victoria? Just wondering, my wife loves anything about her (movies, videos, statues).
Yeah, that's the Queen Victoria Monument. She sits right between City Hall and the Maritime Museum which is the building I shot at the end. In the Light trails and Firetrucks video, almost all of the firefighter images were shot from the base of that statue 😁

brother m from india recently bought canon 200dii how is the camera?
I don’t have any experience with the 200d mark ii, but on paper it has some improvements over the 200d with a new sensor and processor and features like 4k video. The 200d is a great camera so I expect the mark ii will be aswell.
I really don’t know what to choose between SL3 M50 Sony a6000. Help what should i pick 😅
I'd recommend checking what lenses are available for each system and pick the one that best suits your needs. Thanks for watching 🖖
for me ill go for the sl3 because long battery live if you use the view finder and lots of ef glasses but you cant go wrong with any of them. canon colors are so good
Which action camera are you using?
On these older videos I was using the Dji Osmo pocket but on my PoV videos from about the last year I use the insta360 one rs 🖖
All raw? or done edit for the final?
I always shoot raw and edit the images for use.

All the settings are right there on the images in the video
Which setting are you on? Tv?
Manual mode so I can decide the settings myself based on the scene 👍
Did you use nd filter?
I very rarely use any filters for photography. A cpl is all I usually carry with me

For video it’s very capable, but at this point it’s beginning to show its age a bit with only 1080p. It looks great, but if you want the flexibility that 4k offers you’re probably better looking at something else🖖
