  • A delightful indie action RPG romp, Ocean's Heart delivers on the nostalgia it apes. With the right kind of magic brought to this Legend of Zelda-inspired game, Greg had a great time playing this one from start to finish!

I bought and beat this game last week. It was such a good little game that kept me entertained but the shining gem for me was the soundtrack. The music was fantastic.

It is funny I used to go visit rpgfan during the 00s for reviews and news. Just found out that rpgfan has a youtube channel. I am living under a rock.

@@rpgfancom good to see rpgfan is staying strong. It seems like there is a growing appreciation for the genre. Games we thought would see the day light domestically are coming out and indie rpgs are continuing to be developed.

Looks really cool and I just love pixel art old school style of game. Hopefully it will get a console release.

I've never been a big Zelda player, but this game got me addicted to the point where I can't put the controller down.

This game is on sale on Steam right now and I am not sure if I should give it a shot or not.

If it's on sale, I definitely recommend it if you love SNES Legend of Zelda! I loved every minute I spent with it for review and just wanted to run through it all again when I was done. It's lovely, and I think the dev has updated it since, so it's only improved! Hope you give it a shot! ~Greg

I was hesitant as well, but now I can't stop playing it. Some puzzles you may have to look up a guide for, but the quests (side and main) pretty much tell you where to go for story progression.

This game was disappointing to me overall. However I did enjoy some of what was there. Overall I liked it a bit more than Blossom Tales and it seems like it might be better than the recent release Airoheart as well (based on word so far).
There's some cool visual moments and mechanics, but the polish and general world design is far below Zelda imo, with games like Oracle of Ages/Seasons heavily outclassing it. I'm still hoping we eventually get Zelda-like indie games but closer to the level of Ori or Axiom Verge (or, dare I wish the impossible standard, Hollow Knight) reached for Metroidvania games.
