If I have one request and one request only, please avoid putting videogames up for battle in the comments. This game isn't "GENSHIN KILLER" and shouldn't be treated that way. 2 great videogames can co-exist and you can happily play one, both or neither, there's no reason to be negative about another game cos one looks better to you! If anything I hope this game shines in the combat department and provides a little competition to the gacha market, looking forward to giving it a try!

I never understood the mentality of "game X stole aspect Z from the title Y" - the entire gaming industry is building on past games mechanics, interfaces and ideas, going all the way back to pong. Any score displayed on screen would be "stolen" from pong by that logic. What I care about is if the ideas used as a basis are refined and serve a good purpose in the new game, as opposed to just saturating the playtime with borrowed mechanics with no thought to how and why there were implemented. I see a lot of same mechanics in WW that are in Genshin, but they look streamlined, which is a win in my books. Now, I don't enjoy it's art style as much, and that's okay, because no game is going to be perfectly suited to someone's tastes.

I agree with the statement, each game has it's own unique, even though u can find it similar to other game, it doesn't mean the newer game gonna kill the other one, i play both ToF and GI and i enjoy it both, even tho at first ToF kinda similar to Genshin, they keep on updating content that now i find the newer content not really similar anymore, they got their own unique.
To be honest, i want genshin to copy the grapler mechanic from ToF, it's really helpfull for exploring haha, but well, as i said, every game got their own unique.

They do great in world-building and lore as well based on my experience with PGR. It's just that it's easier to convince people with cutscenes and voice acting which PGR rarely have compare to other competitors due to budget restriction.

The story in PGR is actually insane (and insanely dark) so I'm expecting the same here. I'm curious how their storytelling in 3D will look like though, since it's mostly text-based in PGR, although seeing how the random little cutscenes during the boss fight look... I'm expecting their story cutscenes to be just as insane^^

Apologies if someone's already said this:
The 'sound wave' you saw is a reaction between wind element and light
There are dark, light, wind, fire, lightning and ice and they have different reactions to each other.
Wind + light creates a field that slows down time
If you see the little hovering emblem by each of the characters, when it fills up and you attack an enemy you apply your element to them and swapping to another character whose element can react, it'll do a special thing c:
It's called a concerto effect if I remember correctly
It's a very sound based game so lots of things about sound, like the summons being called 'echoes', the scar's on 'Resonators(the playable characters)' being called Forte marks and the previously named Concerto Effect
I believe the echoes is also your artifact set, one to summon and four as equipment, with each character able to summon their own echo.
I'd recommend checking out their discord if you're more curious, or you could wait for the CBT showcase coming on the 14th

So Kuro has my full trust. I just really hope they will do this game justice and people will give it the attention it deserves, not as a Genshin clone but as its own amazing game.

    @VincentLloydM ปีที่แล้ว +8

For the PGR whale thing it's 100% true. F2P can still get very far, and the systems are good enough to where you can at least experience all the S characters. But fights are mostly dictated by the mechanic understandings, battle patterns, and precision of defeating enemies quickly. Whales compete in their own top 1% brackets in things like Pain Cage and Warzone. Norman War is still for example mald city for whales, and I think that's the only "pay to win" kind of aspect since modifiers are so hard, and scaling is so big that spending drastically helps, but spending alone will never solve your problem. There are many people who dedicate hours on completing the hardest difficulty things all f2p though, the game doesn't screw around with high level combat experiences.

It stands on its own, and hopefully it gives Genshin lots of competition. The combat and traversal alone look fantastic. Running up walls (in almost any direction it seems), grappling on demand (even in combat), and the ability to double jump. Exploration abilities aren't tied to characters. Same as some mechanics too, perfect parrying and perfect dodging seem to be part of all characters' kits.
There's also an elemental system called "Concerto" but I THINK it's more to do about switching in characters of different elements that react together to do powerful attacks or effects on the switch. On top of that you can change into enemies you absorbed to do special attacks, the echo system I think it's called.
There's also a message system like the Souls games where you leave messages on the ground for other players.
Kuro games are killing it. It looks amazing.
And yeah you can't whale your way through PGR. You need to actually know how to play. Plus PGR has a system that can bring lower rank characters up to higher ranked. While the normally higher ranked characters are still stronger even on that same level, lower ranked characters that you focus on will always be useful.
Kuro has a policy with PGR where they treat each character with care.

I don't think they'll have that much audience cross. GI is geared more for casuals with everything except for the Abyss being manageable by medium built ok-ish teams. If WW goes too much over the difficulty threshold they risk losing a big chunk of casuals in for a little 10 minute a day of R&R (big chunk of GI audience) and a game this big needs the cash flowing to keep up

@@vsegda723 It probably won't be HUGE but there will be people who are disappointed in where Genshin is currently crossing over to this game. Whether they stay or not remains to be seen. I never really understand why people complain so much about games being similar. Like as long as it's not a complete cheap rip-off that doesn't even try, what's the issue? It just means that we as players don't have to spend time on trying to understand the base mechanics we already know and can instead focus on learning the stuff that's different - which in this game is clearly going to be the combat. So why not be happy instead about being able to focus on that without having to bother with understanding the exploration mechanics?
Though personally, I'd love to see the ratio of male to female characters they have planned since that's probably going to be the deciding point for me.

and it looks like they combined nier's gliding and monster hunter rise's wirebug for easier mobility on the overworld, which is great. the running up walls remind me of kh3. while I love a good platformer challenge, it gets tiring when you just want to reach a high point (esp if you just need to get there for commissions lmao) Hopefully the map would be filled with points of interest like genshin haha looking forward to sinking time into this game when it comes out.

@@gakuto4575 Wuthering Waves fit more in fantasy to me. Just like how Genshin has robots, but WW does look more like Nier. Anyway, fantasy or not, it doesn't matter.
But yeah that's exactly my point, Genshin's world is just a continuation of past battles. War has ended. World has reached an equilibrium unless there's something in the future. That's why I said retrospectively.

It doesn’t need to be colorful, because this isn’t the same story as Genshin. This game seems to have a darker undertone, and to me, this color scheme fits the bill.

This game is gorgeous and the devs are putting a lot of care into this, listening to feed back too. However because it uses Unreal Engine the graphics are far more pronounced and sharper and brighter. I would not recommend this game if you suffer medical conditions that cause severe headaches and/or seizures not at this stage at least. I'm hopeful they will fix and tinker this cause this game does show promise and potential to be a very fun game. It's like with Raiden and Seele's animations being risks to such players with these conditions. However again this game shows such huge promise and I'll be watching closely.

The colors don't looks washed out at all, they look realistic enough. And in any case the colors when you fight are still as colorful and bright as in any other game, including Genshin Impact. However, personally, the effects look kind of lackluster right now. I think that's mostly because the characters they showed are starter characters; they don't need to be very detailed since the developers still need to sell characters in the future. That guy with the dragon is kind of an exception of course, he looks very cool and, let's say, colorful. I think he will be either in a standard banner as a 5-star character or a 5-star limited banner character when the game comes out.

I already trust Kurogames big when it comes to their combat because of PGR. What I am worried about is their gacha. It seems WW is much bigger game than PGR. PGR's gacha is the most generous I've seen and experienced, with 60 pity for a 100% guaranteed character and 30 pity for their weapon - and you can get early pity during those pulls, I hope it stays the same in WW.

One of my most anticipated games in a while hands down. One of my biggest gripes with genshin has ALWAYS been the lack of depth for combat with individual characters. As much as i love the elemental reaction system, the normal attacks barely being used, and only having one skill as well as one burst just alwayd felt lackluster to me. Also the lack of fun mobility was something i had issue with, and it really seems like wuthering waves is going to scratch all of those issues so so well
