Thanks for the reaction. I am a 54yo hard rocker all my life. This is the best new rock band in decades! You have only seen the tip of the iceberg of the depth and talent of these amazing sisters. They have written, recorded, and produced and EP and two full albums of originals all in English (their second language, of course), and all with just crowd funding! They are a very, very special talent! They just finished recording their third album (first for their new label, Lava Records), and their three ages combined are still younger than me. LOL

The bass player was only 13 when they recorded this show. I was still playing with GI Joes and eating mud pies at that age. They are creating music and mastering their instruments.
Hi! Glad to see you reacting to The Warning. The Warning is three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. They are currently 20, 18, and 15. Their sound is a classic rock sound with other elements mixed in. This performance was two years ago at the Lunario in Mexico City. They have two albums that were crowd-funded and have just finished a third. After being pursued by record companies for years they finally signed with Lava Records in August. They were allowed to keep creative control and their patreon which is somewhat unusual. Dust to Dust is from their second album, Queen of the Murder Scene" and is the prologue to this remarkable concept album. Each song adds more to the story which is rather dark. This is no industry-packaged "teen band." The Warning also has a very loyal following known as The Warning Army and I expect you will hear from them shortly. Thanks again for the reaction!

The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister) at 3 and Dany (Dani = Dani. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
They had been uploading their musical journey to TH-cam for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show!.The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10 000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston.
They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album XXI Century Blood in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded Queen of the Murder Scene and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues.
In June of 2019 they released a single, Narcisista. A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan funded through Patreon, TH-cam and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because[a] they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise fund for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lock down was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on TH-cam and Facebook achieving well over 50000 simultaneous viewers on March 25 2020. They have since performed from The Warning a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville Tx for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album.

Even if you find the studio version to sound better I think that you will soon find out that how these girls act ( _yes, they act the songs with body and faces_ ) on their live performances is what really makes the live videos stand out in comparison. The music styles vary between the songs on this record so they all sound really different. They are the future hope for rock.

There is a rabbit hole! lol This song is the first track on their _Queen of the Murder Scene_ concept album, and it is the Prologue to this thirteen track rock novel. The second track, "Crimson Queen", is the first of three songs that comprise Chapter 1, and introduces the title character, played by Daniela on acoustic guitar. She is the principal lead singer of the band.

The "dark" vibe reflects the "dark" subject matter of TW's great rock opera album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", of which "Dust to Dust" is the prologue/"overture". Dark, indeed. This is the prologue to their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. In 13 songs, it tells the story of a disturbed young woman's inner journey from desire to obsession to murder and madness. The songs are told from the point of view of either the young lady's inner psychopath or her good side, which has a conscience - until it does not.

Mike & Ginger! Play it AGAIN! 😁 Welcome to The Warning universe! I appreciate your initial take of the sisters with this song. They have two albums worth of original music and a slew of really excellent covers of metal bands from their formative years! As some of the other commenters may have already mentioned - this song "Dust to Dust" is the prologue to their second album Queen of the Murder Scene which was composed and arranged as a concept album. It's actually quite Shakespearean in it's storytelling. While not mandatory, listening to QotMS in sequence will give you a better appreciation of the album's narrative. In fact, the album is actually split into chapters. Chapter 1 leads off with the song "Crimson Queen". While the sound might be cleaner in a studio version, I still prefer the live versions / concert vids. Their stage presence and their attitude fitting perfectly to the stories of the songs just add so many layers ... 🤟
You will not get sunshine and rainbows from this group. They are socially conscious. Their first album was called CXl Century Blood and included topics which the band believed needed attention. They covered drug addiction, depression, loneliness, domestic violence, political corruption, infidelity/abandonment and even self loathing. They then finished the album with a song about redemption.
They followed that up with Queen of the Murder Scene. The original concept was an album about a serial killer, but it morphed into a novella of sorts about longing, desire, desperation and eventually murder.
Not your typical girl band.

The show "Live At Foro Didi" on TH-cam is the same basic material (Dust To Dust is the first track), but was done about a year later with more professional sound and video.
If you watch those two shows and then the 2020 Whisky a Go-Go show you can also see their live performances continue to improve. And they say the new album coming up next year is by far their best work, and I believe them.
@@markjames8664 Can't wait to hear the new album. They just spent three months tracking it in New Jersey, but I haven't heard anything about how long post production is expected to take. Their recordings are more polished and I own CDs of the current ones, but I find myself going back to again and again to my favorite "live recordings." The Warning are a great live band and I hope they're able to record some live performances of the new stuff soon.
Great reaction. Your audio great and clear maybe a tiny bit low on the song vs the mics. You will be surprised I guess when you realizes that this song is a prologue to the album Queen of the Murder Scene that is a musical story in 4 chapters with 3 songs each for a total of 13 songs where we follow a character in her search for the unanswered love. If you thought this was a bit dark.... it get darker and bloody in the story

They seem young (and they were) but they have been a band performing for more than 5 years (at the time of this video in 2018) and have played The Whisky a GoGo several times, The House of Blues (when they were 15, 13, and 10 yrs old) and other history places. They have opened for such greats as Alice Copper, Def Leopard, The Killers, Stryper, and others. Would love for you to try MANY more performances by The Warning. Their life concert performances are the best because of their energy but if you need cleaner sounds there are studio covers of The Pretender, Atlas Rise, XXI Century Blood, and a few others to try.
Since you've done the Prologue... Please continue on following the track by track story of their Queen of the Murder Scene
concept album! Maybe with weekly installments sprinkled in with your other reactions (all of which I listen to)...I think it would e really fun!!!

Since that night, they have started their shows (except on certain limited online performances) off with *Dust to Dust.*
Maybe it's just me (& most of the Warning Army) but they are better live than the studio recordings.

They were super young then (2014) but wow, were they GREAT! Ale, the bassist, was 9 when Ellen DeGeneres invited them to her show after watching that 1st video!

I think people are nostalgic about Lunario because it was the first full performance of Queen of the Murder Scene, but yes this isn’t the best. Pau was having trouble getting enough oxygen at the Mexico City altitude, and this is a very demanding song.
