Pau's prayer was beautifully creepy.
This is completely re-imagined, fantastic interpretation. Gives this a eerie, haunting, and surreal experience. Pau's horror movie neck twist and prayer creeps me out. This is what happens after the parents turn off the light and close the door.
It took the genius of The Warning to reimagine Metallica's lullaby that ushers in nightmares. Alessia's childlike innocence and The Warning's sinister presence were captured perfectly in the arrangement and the video.
The Warning are absolutely fearless to take such a iconic song and do what they did.. re-arrange it so that another entire new generation can have a beautiful haunting song with that Smash face ending. My understanding is that The Warning arranged it, and their producers Matt Squire and David Bendith did the layering and polish. Their manager Rudy Joffroy did the cinematography.
Just the perfect collaboration Alessia and The Warning couldn’t have asked for anything else. I call it the NAFTA collaboration

Well, my thought's on this one, "EPIC", from the cool haunting vocals to the sweet cinematics. The reenvision of this classic is just unprecedented with the collaboration with Alessia Cara. Out of all the covers out there on this song, this is definitely my favorite. On Oct. 8th, they're releasing a 6 song EP called Mayday, I can't wait for that. Thanks for this one.

The vibe I get when Pau does the prayer is a bit like the feeling from the little girl in the movie Firestarter. So sweet and innocent, and then they send the chills down your spine.
Pau is a natural at the macabre. Her prayer in this vid is just beyond creepy, and even though I know the original song all too well, I didn't know WHAT to expect from her! Kinda like no one was expecting her roar/scream in Evolve... lol
Thanks for checking out this masterful rearrangement :-) Smart and beautiful but subduedly unsettling. I particularly enjoy the part starting with the spoken prayer and finishing off with the harmonizing crescendo. Good stuff :-)

Think Mike got it right, they were going for a more dark/creepy feel on this one. I love this version. They made it their own for sure. As for Auto tune, I have no idea. I wouldn't think Alessia would need it, but I obviously have no inside info on that one.
The Warning don't need autotune but the way the industry works the production crews often add autotune anyway without the artist knowing or without their permission. It's so prevalent in the industry now.
This is epic and it's already being used by Fox Sports and is in Marvel's Midnight Suns game.

This version started where the original left off. The first line " Take my hand" is the last line that James Hetfield sings in the original. Metalica told them to change it up and make it their own, and boy did they.
As of this morning they had over 1 million streams on Spotify and were #11 on the billboard charts in 10 days!
This is definitely a more feminine lullaby, compared to Metallica’s brute force approach. Very motherly feel to it, until the end when The Warning crank it up to 11.

The Warning took this legendary classic and reinvented it into the lullaby it was originally written to be (demented and creepy but a lullaby). Alessia Cara approached The Warning asking how to do this and the 3 ladies took it from there.
This was produced by Matt Squire and mixed by the producer of their upcoming ep/lp, David Bendeth. 🤘🏼

Lars said they could do whatever they wanted. Play it backwards if they wanted. So They sort of did. Their intro was Metallica's outro, & their Outro was Metallica's intro.
Don't forget, it was written as a lullaby. They took a fair bit of it down to that level. So Cool.
Did you notice that all of the bits Alissa was in, were projections on the walls. Brilliant.

It was madre ethereal almost like a dream or nightmare, after al the song is a lullaby. But they made it in a whole new twist: they started with the end and finish with the beginning of the song (if you notice).
A great reinvention of an iconic metal song, just fabulous. You mentioned the "riff", I would point out the riff is there throughout the song though very subtly and then its unleashed at the end. I cannot imagine anyone but The Warning along with Alessia Cara pulling this off.

I love everything about this Mike and Ginger! Their voices blend really well with Alessia's. Their harmonies are spectacular. Their arrangement of this timeless classic is off the charts. Their video is amazing: Legendary work here.

Grammy Award winning artist Alessia Cara is more of a sultry soulful Pop singer/songwriter. She and The Warning share the same international agent who suggested that she collaborate with TW. So with very little time, TW jumped at the opportunity and arranged, recorded the music and vocals, and shot the video; all in less than a week!

I think this this is just brilliant. I did NOT want to get yet another mimicking cover. I DID want to get something different but yet respecrful. And that is what I got.

Alessia had to record her part over Zoom, so no telling how that affected her sound. It’s a shame that this probably doesn’t count as Canadian content as it needs to be played on the radio, a lot!!
I’m sure she talked to the producer over zoom, but there are tons of ways of recording remotely that have zero loss to the audio. I’m 100% sure they did not use zoom audio feed.

Obsessing over auto tune without being certain was just sad.
Love it; music and vocals were great all around. Beautiful and creative rendition of the song; they made it their own while keeping the essence of the original especially at the end. Which is also what Metallica was seeking from the artists they invited for the Black List album not a straight up cover of the original. 🤘😎🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥

These girls are incredibles
I think they did a great job of incorporating Alessia’s pop voice as the sweet lullaby voice at the beginning, then getting progressively darker with the “hush little baby “ refrains, and finally paying homage to the original with their thunderous ending. They took Metallica’s instructions to make the song their own to heart, and created a brilliant new song that is still faithful to the original. Might be why it’s the first track on the Blacklist album. 👍😎
No, this not the reason. No valuation being the first track. Songs are sorted in the original sequence and then the artists for each song in alphabetical order
For as much as I love Metallica, I still definitely like this rendition far more than the original. Far more surreal…. Darker…. Creepier…. Haunting…. with a powerful ending that gives homage to the original, what a touch of class. And Dany’s high note leading into the ending is EPIC! They absolutely killed it!
The more we hear from The Warning, the more I come to believe it is literally impossible for the sisters to put out anything subpar! And, this collaboration with Alissa Cara, who by the way is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star with millions of followers was a perfect melding of pop and rock. Yet In my opinion, it is absolutely The Warning who bring the “hit factor” to this reimagining of an iconic song, What a Bold Statement. But, I honestly did not expect anything less! It would not surprise me if this song/video were to receive a nomination for a Grammy award. Again, they killed it!

Everything from The Warning's August, 2022, concert at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City (= CDMX) is worth hearing. It's probably the BEST audio, video, and editing of a live performance I've heard since Jeff Beck's Live at Ronnie Scotts in 2007. All 22 songs are great. Pau's emotional performances of 23 and Revenant are spectacular. The version of Enter Sandman is even better live, and very different from this one.
