Isnt it harder for FM to maintain two different versions of Custom shaping ? one for the GT and one for Pint. It weird why they would put in more work to give us less stuff !
Two main reasons: One, a simpler and more approachable custom shaping is probably more suitable for a Pint audience regardless. But also Two, it's much easier to work off of XR custom shaping since the Pint hardware and firmware are based on XR. XR custom was actually already in the firmware, just inaccessible. So starting with XR custom and improving from there is much easier development-wise. GT firmware and hardware are completely different, so porting over GT custom would be a more extensive development process. And supposedly, there actually wasn't much room on the Pint controller's flash to add much more complexity to the Pint firmware even if they wanted to.
Probably just an oversight on FM's part. The pushback kicks in at 18 and gets stronger as you approach 20mph. This is 2mph than the previous Pint X behavior, which is advertised as 18 and kicks in at 16, getting stronger as you approach 18

Unfortunately not, the XR and Pints are much too weak to take advantage of something like stiffer dynamic responsiveness. It would just make over-torqueing the board and nose/tail dipping feel more jarring and have a rubber banding effect, much like high aggressiveness already does.

Did you ever confirm that the pint s does still hit pushback at 18, or is it actually 20?
Pint S pushback kicks in at 18 and gets stronger as you approach 20mph. This is 2mph higher than the previous Pint X pushback, which kicked in at 16 and got stronger as you approached Pint X's advertised top speed of 18mph. The way pushback kicks in is also smoother and less jarring, though the angle at max pushback is still really aggressive.
@@nicoaleman awesome, thank you for the response!
Awesome video but I still think vesc is better even for pint.
My VESC Growler (featured in this vid) is definitely still my favorite board 🤘
Does anybody know if the pint x custom shaping update will override/ undo my digital tilt tree level for my wtf rails?
Your level will not change after updating. You're good
@TheFloatLife does it lock the pint x board down in any way after the new update? I'm still on pre haptic buzz firmware?
No Dynamic Responsiveness :( @nico :D
Unfortunately not, the XR and Pints are much too weak to take advantage of something like stiffer dynamic responsiveness. It would just make over-torqueing the board and nose/tail dipping feel more jarring and have a rubber banding effect, much like high aggressiveness already does.
@@nicoaleman Ah that’s fair.. 😊
Pint x bangs please
Hey I have rewheel shaping 😂 I just need to vesc this board.
Why the hell can't they just have them both have the same custom shaping? It makes no sense. Fixing stuff that ain't broke.
Pint S sucks 2 nd time this month back to warranty same issue 💩
08:19 [Carveability] "You can select any-
where between -5 [Loose] to +5 [Tight]."
i'm sorry, ¿am i tripping
¿how does Loose = -5 Carveability
¿isn't Tight the opposite on Carveable
whoever decided to rename the values from
XR+ Custom Shaping didn't think this throug;
that dial should go from 11 [Loose] to 1 [Tight]
Push back test?!
Check out the previous first impressions video! Pushback comes in at 18mph, and gets stronger as you approach 20mph. Kicks in smoother and less jarring than previous Pint/PintX firmware, but the angle is still fairly aggressive at max pushback (20mph)
Well thats a shame 🤣
It wasn’t HATE nothing but LOVE it was empowerment… you can do better 🤣🤷🏻♂️
Hard pass, floatwheel will be my next board.
