Needless to say, we’re going to have to talk about some spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, so keep reading and watching at your own risk if you haven’t seen it. Tony Stark was the protagonist of Iron Man, which kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe all the way back in 2008. We’ve seen him face his greatest fears, including the Mad Titan Thanos, and help train new superheroes like Peter Parker, Rhodey and even Pepper Potts. We all know he made the ultimate sacrifice, so let’s talk about how that all played out and what it meant.
While Tony Stark was motivated by fear, Natasha Romanoff was always seeking redemption. In Age of Ultron, she admitted to feeling like a monster because of her past. According to actress Scarlett Johansson, she was always trying to redeem herself and, by sacrificing herself for the Soul Stone and to protect Clint Barton, she was finally able to be at peace. Only time will tell what effect this will have on Clint and whether he continues his journey as Ronin or Hawkeye.

Black Widow didn't sacrifice herself for Hawkeye, she did it for everybody. I am so tired of people (other channels also) saying that it cheapens her role. Her sacrifice is just as important as Tony's was, some could say more important. Tony only figured that there was a high chance he would die (he saw somebody else live through using the stones). Black Widow knew there was a 100% chance she was dying.

Their sacrifices were absolutely heartbreaking. I remember crying extremely hard when Tony died and I think I was also in shock when Natasha sacrificed herself for Hawkeye. I will admit that RDJ & Scar Jo were awesome as Black Widow & Iron Man and that the MCU won’t be the same without them.

I understand someone had to die for the soul stone, and if it was Natasha, well thats how it was, what I find was a missed opportunity, was the fact they didn't give her a funeral, all they had to do was have an extra wreath with her name on it at Tony's wedding. They could have done what they did with Gamora as well, with Clint seeing a young Black Widow telling him she is ok. They ust forget her at the end of teh movie, they dont mention her name. Tony got a funeral, she should have gotten one too

I appreciate this channel that it gave equal importance to black widow's sacrifice as well...
Natasha's sacrifice was the right story choice. From her point of view, letting Clint do it would have only multiplied the "red in her ledger" beyond her ability to repay. She loved Clint's family almost as much as he did; they were the sister and children she could never have. She didn't do it because "she didn't have as much to live for" as he did; she did it because she'd lost as much as he did. Plus, as the Russos have already said, in a melee fight there was no doubt who'd win.
I 3000% agree especially seeing how much she wanted to help the world after the snap (earthquake under Africa) it felt like it was the right thing for her to do. Marvel just failed at giving her the movie she (and Scarjo) deserve.
Although I kinda wished Clint fell so there'd be a somewhat cliche reason for his daughter to become the next hawk eye.
@Jughem Hemjug Uh, no. Nat was more than fine being with Shield and the avengers, they are her family. All the shit you just said is nonsense and you're just trying to downplay the love she has for her friends aka family and the world itself. Her sacrifice was heartbreaking because she was the one to hold the team together when things got bad. She was happy and wanted to sacrifice herself for others since it was literally the only way.
If Adam Warlock, Strange and others somehow brings the gems back, then Warlock can most likely bring Nat and gamora back.
@@justinkruzisafag that's what I meant and there's a theory where Steve brought the stone back and Nat was brought back (when gamora jumped her imprint and blood was there but not a body) they time jumped back to when they took the tesseract and it went fine, Steve danced but they left and found there was only one particle left so they stayed together got married had a life together and she died later on happy. If you're into fan theories it's a nice ending :)

All this crap about Natasha's sacrifice being a trope of the woman's sacrifice pushing the male narrative forward, or robbing her character of everything she's worked for is utter bull. If she had lost and Barton had won then people would have been screaming that it was misogynist for them to have the man win because "women are as strong as men too" or that it was another trope of a man saving the damsel in distress. You can't have your cake and eat it too people! It was a poetic end for the character. She found the redemption she needed. What better way for someone to wipe out that much red their ledger than to be responsible for bringing back half the population in the entire universe? She not only balanced out her karmic scales, she obliterated them with her sacrifice. What people are screaming for is yet another trope, the Mary sue, the female character that is perfect, doesnt make mistakes, and succeeds at everything she attempts at no cost. Well too bad, the real world doesnt work that way. You rarely get what you want without some measure of sacrifice. The jump honors her character because it makes her flawed, it makes her real. Dont cheapen it by taking that away from her.

I think they were right to kill off Natasha instead of Hawkeye. Hawkeye dying just didn't feel right the way he was set up in the movie. The movie starts with him losing his family, which makes the idea of him meeting back up with his family something the audience wants to believe in from the start. It's for that reason, that when he and Widow were duking it out for the sacrifice position, that I was rooting for Widow to win. If Hawkeye had died and Widow survived, then it would've felt strange.
She was an awesome character, so I'm glad she got a hero's death. Her death made me feel sad, but at the same time thankful. Despite her troubled past, she died being who she wanted to be.
They couldn’t have done a funeral for Black Widow because her body was on another planet in the mountains. She was sacrificed, not killed. But, I agree with people who say the could at least put something on Tony’s coffin that represented Natasha

It's not pointless. She still deserves a standalone film. She's been in MCU for approximately as long as Iron Man and if it's a prequel, so be it. So, it's not how we would want it to be. They should have made one standalone on her before Infinity War &/or Endgame. That would have been perfect. But sadly, Marvel didn't care about us/Black Widow/Scarlett that much!
My prediction is that the movie will be a prequel. Twist is that at the end or in the post-credit scene we are going to get a shot of Natasha in the Soul Realm, whether it’s with Gamora or not. Now if it’s with Gamora then they’ll both 100% be saved in Gaurdians 3. However if it’s just her I think they’ll do the second post-credit scene her getting out of the Soul Realm!!

The “I am Iron Man” line wasn’t improvised by RDJ. It was an idea from an editor in post production. The Russo brothers have said this in multiple interviews.

But when iron man died i was just in shock. omg and when peter came is when i really swallowed back my tears. spiderman has always been my favourite, but seeing the avengers without iron man really hit me.
