    Anyway to get it to stop ONLY amplifying/recording sounds if something loud happens? Its cut in/out of conversations purely because it only has audio if/when cars/wind are happening, but it surely can hear more subtle sounds. You kinda gotta yell next to it to make it hear the average human talk. Anyway to make that amplifier "always on"?

    I just bought a camera and it says it needs wi-fi and I'm 3 mi away from the camera can I still see if somebody's at my shop from home

    Okay I'm using a hotspot box from the library it does fine when I take that hotspot back to the library and get another one it's not letting me sign on

      I pretty sure you would have to reset the camera and reconnect to the different hotspot

      I got it connect I guess it was bc I had Bluetooth on but now I keep getting live stream failed after a while and my other camera that’s a different kind works fine

    Can you help ? Can this camera Continuously record not just motion record. I cant get it to do that. If so please share how or recommend a camera

      Hi Houcem. It's in the SD Card settings.
      In the Geeni app TAP your camera.
      Once you're looking at the camera feed TAP the 3 dot menu in the top right.
      Scroll down to SD Card Settings.
      TAP Recording Mode
      There you'll find 2 options "Continuous" and "motion".
      I do not use the Cloud storage so I don't know what options would be there.
      In Continuous mode, I get about 24hours of recordings on a 32GB SD card in Standard Definition (SD).
      I would recommend "motion detection" setting. But this does depend on what you are watching. A room, a stairway or fish tank, pet activity, etc.

    Great videos - I have a number of cameras at two locations. Wondering how I can change the order which the camera icon's show in the app. I'd like to rearrange them to be more conducive with each location.

      Disconnect it! And restart it to get it to b in the place you want and rearrange your camera to the place you want them

    Hi! I do not get notifications on my iPhone when motion has been detected. All the permissions have been allowed, all notifications are being allowed in the app and in my settings. Please help! Not sure what to do. Thank you in advance.

      From what I gather the main cause is defective camera.... if your phone notifications are turned on that is! I know that isn’t the best news

      Did you figure it out? I rarely get notifications.. I can walk in front of it and still not get a notification

    @QuarantineDad is there any way to set it to constantly record to SD card? not just motion detection? We want it so we can watch our dog's behavior so we want it to record non stop.

    I put SD card in and formatted it and it was working fine, been able to see all of the day and day's video's, but now it is not showing me any videos at all, and it is just blank. Also I didn't pick a plan in Geenie I am just using basic , does it matter? Also I only have one camera right now. I wish it would rotate itself when it detects motion in a room, and the video play back is slow and always stops playing.

    First let me say thank you for your posts!
    I have the Merkury CW035 camera running on the Geeni app. My question is this….I can manually zoom using the same method that you would on your cell phone, however after a few seconds the camera will revert back to, I assume…a default location of center! Is there a way to lock the zoom?

    I haven't seen anything mentioning this, so I will ask here. Has anyone had problems with the camera getting hot while connected and on? I am using the charger and cable that was provided with the camera. I connected it and left it on while I was at work, and about 9 hrs later when I returned home I went to unplug it and the camera was VERY hot.

      I haven’t had that problem. I also use them with the charging cable that came with it! And I think this is the first time I have heard of it getting hot. Does it shut the camera off when it gets hot?

      That’s not normal! Not sure really what’s going on! They might get slightly warm! Not hot to the touch....

      I literally bought mine yesterday and damn-near burned my fingers taking the SD card out. The box says “don’t bring back to store for problems (paraphrasing)”, so, I don’t know what to do. They don’t answer the phone and ya can’t take it back according to them so…🤷🏻‍♀️

    How do you put in your sd card? I know this question is probably dumb to some people but I’ve never used a camera before an I wasn’t sure if I needed to cut off the camera then put it in an do something to the app to start recording with an SD card.

    Oh I also forgot to add the shop has Wi-Fi and where I'm at home has Wi-Fi is there any way of linking them so I can see if somebody's at my shop

      You have to set the camera up to the WiFi! It has to be 2.4GHz WiFi and it will automatically sync with you phone!

    I currently have a lot of videos on my Mercury Genie security camera and the genie cloud is not working any longer so if I buy an SD card and put it in the camera will it download all of the video footage it currently has or only video footage that it will have in the future so another words all of the videos that are currently on there that I cannot view in the cloud will it be saved to the SD card if I put one in it

    Can you upload a video off of the SD card that’s in the camera and it carry the audio with it on the disk is it possible that does not carry audio with the video or is it every time it has it?

    I love the Mercury cameras but I keep having an issue with the app on ipad and Chromebook where it won't go full screen. I use these to care for my grandma with Alzheimer's so I need to have it displayed on a monitor next to my bed all night so I can wake up and instantly see if she needs help. Any ideas how to fix this? It seems to randomly work occasionally and then it just will not go full screen with single or multiple views. Any ideas would be appreciated 🙂 Love your videos!

    Hey just curious. Is it suppose to move up and down and side to side every like 15 min? Is it scanning my living room for movement? I’m not sure why it does it and it freaks me out when I’m watching tv

    My Alexa Show doesn't show the geeni camera although it does show it on the app. What else do I need to do I have followed all the steps several time but to no avail.

    Mine was working just fine at first. I got the SD cards and was able to play back videos. Well now when I go to the camera for my living room it says "videos are done for today" doesn't let me click any other options to switch days or anything, but the one in my dining room let's me play back. What's going on

      Sometime and this has happened to me! Sounds crazy but It did happen to me! The brand of SD card would not work for my camera so I switch brands of Sd card and it worked! Idk why but made me scratch my head a little!

    Yo guy. I have a question you won't be able to answer. (I hope ya can):) How do you set all cameras to default to SD recording rather than HD? I do it to save my upload bandwidth for important stuff like the PlayStation. Don't know if people know this but if you have a bunch of cameras in geeni. Most of them return to HD recording. No matter how many times you set it back to SD. I have reinstalled, tried it on another phone, different service, ISP I mean. It's a upload bandwidth gobbler. I mean I have 150 down 10 up. Good enough for me. But are paleople really not paying attention to this problem because they all have Google fiber?
    Wish I had that problem you know?

    Hello, if this channel is active i need help please. I just installed my first merkury camera. I had no issues setting it up. I have an ACTIVE house, if this makes sense. I'll just be blunt, it's haunted. The attic is active every night, so i put my camera in the attic with another device on my phone, that detects movement, it went off numerous times, plus i put a voice recorder up there. I am mad as hell, that i didn't double check the voice recorder before going to bed, cause some weird crap was going on like talking etc. It shows a list of times, when my motion detection and sound detection went off, I know for a fact that i hit record, but it won't play back??? Any helpful tips is grately appreciated!!! thanks!!! Lisa...:)

      Turn of the IR in the app! Select your camera and turn off the IR night vision

    Hi QuarantineDad. quick question. I purchased one of these cameras and I have the Geeni app like you do. I also have the microSD card inserted. I have the recording set to SD card as well. The problem is, I click record and as long as my phone stays on that record screen of the porch, it will continue to record. But as soon as someone text's or I go to other things on my Iphone, the recording stops??

      Hi Smokenscotch! Right what you do is turn on your notifications “aka” motion detection! And it will record everything in range! Atm that’s the only way I know to constantly record! You get the notifications that something tripped the camera! And can go back and watch it

    Hi QD! Can you give any insight on the "schedule"? I've set the schedule for 8:00am Motion Detection ON Sound Detection OFF and then at 7:00pm Motion Detection OFF Sound Detection OFF
    I'm not sure IF that's what the "schedule" means/does. Haven't figured it out yet. Any help appreciated.

      Yea so basically! When you set the schedule that is when it turns on and then set one for it to turn off at a certain time is how it works

      BTW, I gave my son access to the camera, he lives in a different state, but we did talk back and forth through the camera speaker. I had to be right close to hear him though. Could be louder, I guess.

    Does my Geenie app have to be open to get alerts? Also, I don't hav a SD card, do you recommend and why? I don't even have that listed on my menu.

      No it doesn’t have to be open to get the alerts turn on motion detection and allow notifications! But on the SD card I recommend that you get one so you can go back and look at the videos!

      Check WiFi connection is on 2.5 instead of 5g and check the WPA/WPA2 and the DCHP and turn off wireless function! Let me know!

    I can't move where the camara is pointing via the rotate button in Geeni, or using a finger swip on the video any longer. I have two Merkery smart cameras and I can no longer move either. Any idea how to fix this. I can still zoom, just cant' pan left/right or up/down.

    I have a problem with my cw007, no sound comes out of the camera. When i use my smart to talk through no sound from the camera. I removed device and installed it again and nothing. I did notice on the camera that it doesn't even make the chime sound when i reset the camera. Any idea why on both my cameras it seems like the speaker of the camera isnt working??

      Idk why it isn’t making the chime when you installed it the second time... I know where I use iPhone if I have my ring/silent switch off I can’t hear anything through mine. So I usually have it switched on. But I mean that may not even be the case for yours. Another thing I can think of is that I use WiFi when I’m home instead of cell data.

    Also, I placed mine in a window for the front yard and I get a glare. I can only see the blinds behind the camera. Is that because there is a light on outside?

      Mine are outside on my porch but the glare is probably from the light on the camera itself while recording!

      @@quarantinedad The glare is constant. I think it is picking up the street light. All i see are the blinds behind it because it is reflecting off the window. During the day I can see clear as a bell.

      @@hln827 I had mine in the window too and had the same thing,I got a longer type c cord and an extension cord and put it out side but under the overhang to keep it from getting wet and works fine both day and night,hope this helps. Also merkury also makes an indoor/outdoor version at around $48-$52 I forget exact price but somewhere in that range if u want an actual outdoor.but this model works for me I have not used it during the winter as I live in northern Minnesota and it can get -30 .

      Go to your app then select the device. Go to top right corner use the … dots scroll down tell you see device sharing! Then just follow the instructions! Hope this helps cheers!!!

    The “ hold to speaker microphone doesn’t work and can’t hear myself talk to anyone outside

    Is there a way to turn on a sound for notification alerts? Im using this as a baby monitor and the notifications come is as only a notification, is having a sound an option so that i can know when baby is crying?

      Yes you can turn on sound notifications in the motion alerts. It’s at the bottom once you open motion alerts. You can even select high mid low on it just like with regular motion detection!

    Does anyone else’s app say “No SC Card detected when there is one?!? I installed a new card and ran the format SD Card option in the Geeni App. Please advise.

      What size SD card are you using? It has to be 32gb or smaller for it work. Though if you use a smaller one you do have to reformat the SD!

      Open the app and in the top right corner there is a plus sign ➕ select it and setup the second camera! Hope this helps!

    My issue is I have two cameras connected to the app, the skill in Alexa set up and the Geeni app connected to it. Alexa still won't find the cameras. I switched from Geeni to the Smart Life app and it's the same thing. I can see them in Smart Life and it's connected to Alexa, but no joy.

    Mine won’t connect to my iPhone do u know why that is? When we first got it I had use an android phone to set it up and was able to connect it to my iPhone that way but one day it stop working and I had reinstalled the app on my iPhone and unplug the camera to reset and now nothing works.

      Did you press the reset button in the camera. I use iPhone to connect to my camera. Unplugging doesn’t rest them. Once that is done go through the find device let me know what happens! Hope that works

      Only the ones for indoor outdoor use are water proof this one isn’t but I have mine outside on a covers porch and the make several that are! Like the hawk series which I have coming in. And I’ll do a review on it when I get it! 😁cheers hope this helps somewhat...

      @@quarantinedad That all depends on which camera. If Chonita has the Geeni Freebird, it is battery powered and only needs to be plugged in to recharge.

    How do I get the color image? I know when I had this set up indoors, image was in color. Moved to porch to view the deer, mostly black and white but occasionally it changes to color then makes a sound and goes back to black and white.

      Turn off the Ir setting. That will put it in color! The camera comes with the auto setting for night vision turned on! So just turn it off in the day time!😁hope this help it did with mine anyway! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!

    Cams were working great, 1 of them went offline and i noticed it was at 5.0 instead of 2.4. Couldnt get it back online. How do I get the 5.0 back to 2.4?

      You have to reconnect it and select 2.4

      Turn sound notifications on and sometimes if yours is like mine it can be a bit annoying to say the least!! But it will pick up sound notifications and you will be about to here it when you watch the recording!!! Hope that help plus when you watching the live feed you can turn sound on by unmuting the sound in the bottom left hand corner!!

      On the geeni app go to your camera and select the three dots at the top and at the bottom you should see FireWire select it and see if it says up to date

      Blue...red means night vision is on.

      Red is IR and blue is “on” but you can turn that off in the app.

    Why does my camera say “ retrieving stream failed “ but I still get notifications and can see the picture catches of what movement it was or sound . So it just doesn’t let me see it live but I still receive notifications and my other camera is just fine

      For some reason the updated them now you have to hold on the mic icon until it turn blue to talk! Then take your “in my case my thumb” off the icon to hear them talk...

    is there a reason my camera skipped 3 minutes of recording when something triggered a sensor? we did a playback and it just jumps 3 minutes

      So you had motion detection on and it started recording and disrupted normal recording! Because of you had motion detection on it shouldn’t have skip unless someone deleted it!

      @@quarantinedad i didnt even know you could delete a portion of it. but what set off the camera in the first place was a different item in the house (doorbell kangaroo went off). when i went to check the recording of what i missed, it was gone.

      @@quarantinedad yup. we clicked out of the app and went back in and it still shows the exact same time missed. we wanted to be sure that it wasnt a glich on our phones but the other phone hooked to it also shows the exact same. like i said neither of us knew you could delete anything.

      Goodness!!! Well I’m not 100% sure then! Umm one other thing it could have been is if you have your motion detection on it could have delayed it when it was switching over. Or could have been lag from WiFi connection!
