    Sir have mine outside for the past 4 years hanging out of my windows in the winter time rain storms everything the only thing I have problems with exactly is your infrared it just shows gray and black everything's gray and black but it still works it picks up people when they walk by but they're all in Gray so all of those Mercury genie cameras I would prefer to hang them anywhere outside under things it doesn't matter if they are in the winter time or in the rain and they have sound and you can hear the people and they do record so thank you again for having your video and I hope that your problems became easier to fix

    I have four of these genie Mercury cameras that are just hanging on the outside of my home during the winter time and during rainstorms and they pick up every sound and records if you want I've never had any problems with them at all sure the night vision doesn't look too good but they were really good they are not supposed to be in the winter time but I put them up there anyway and they still work and they're working today underneath all them conditions that is a very good camera I recommend you getting them

    The end user license agreement for geeni basically says they collect any and all information and use it however they want.

    Does it have to be plugged in at all times (cord connected) or the cord is basically for the battery life

    How do you watch past recordings. I can only get the live to work and I didn’t get a notification

      But you do have an SD card? If you do you can go to play back. And watch recording or select record to start recording

    Is there any way that i can see my house at work? Like i walk a few feet away and i lost connection. I thought I could see my house while I'm away. That's supposed to be the main reason why you have this stuff. Right?. Thanks 😊

    Can you add your camera to your Apple Watch and see it from there as well ?

      I’m not 100% sure to be completely honest! But I do know it with work with Alexa and google assistant! It might but I haven’t seen any info on that

    I have 2 of these , I modified them and use them outdoors. They are out the rain under my carport but still work great . It seems the infrared issue corrected itself on both of mine. Perhaps china deletes the storage when it gets full to stay current, who knows

    I would LOVE IT if i could download the GEENI app on My Roku so i can watch My mercury cameras on a tv in the dinning area is that posible?

    Quick question guys, if the camera has a solid blue light and a small red dot on top what does it mean? Because no to long ago it was red I think for about a week and I never had time to be home to connect it to the geeni app and now it became a solid blue light with a small red light on top? So now im assuming someone else connected to it but no one in the house ever did.

    Hi, I need help please. I downloaded some videos from last night and it says they are in my gallery. What gallery? I do pay for the cloud storage. I can’t find anything and I really need access to these videos from last night.

      It defaults to the photo gallery on you phone. Where you pictures are! Hope this helps

      The camera doesn't have a battery so it has to be connected to a power source of some kind.

    I have had that ir issue on the cheaper white one like you have but the more expensive one I know they aren’t supposed to be outdoor but I have the expensive one outside and cheaper one inside and the more expensive one outside does a better job with no issues

    I have several hooked up. One has the newest firmware and one says it's up to date but has a different firmware rev. Also the one with the old firmware has lost the IR setting although it comes on automatically at night.

      Go to geeni app top right hand corner there is a + click it and find the device you want to add and follow instructions

    How do I change it to a new WiFi network the only answer I can find is to reset it but I no longer can find my QR code is there a way to change wifi networks

      The QR code in the app! The way I have done mine is remove the device then add them back in the app! Maybe try that! Hopefully that will work it does for me!

      The main thing is to check your WiFi connection is using 2.5ghz instead of 5g! And make sure to see if the wpa/wpa2 mode as well as the DHCP function! And check to see if you have disabled the wireless function! Try those and let me know

      Never tried an Apple Watch but I do have the app on my iPhone, as far as the WiFi it has to be 2.4 ghz hope this helps I’ll be doing a video in the Apple Watch next week too!

      Pull up your camera in the app and select it! And click on motion alerts and the slide the bar over and it will notify you when something moves in view

      I have that same problem, I think? I have it recording out my back window, but at night it reflects the light to the point you can't see anything but the reflection.

    I have this camera for few months, and had been receive all notitication, until now i all suddenly stopped receive them, I have done everything and none of those works. I was wondering what else can i do. to be able to recieve those notifiction?

      If it’s showing that the motion detection is on when you click on it then and still not sending you notifications then you need to call customer support

      Not really no! Because once the SD card if full it will delete old videos automatically to make room for new one! Hope this helped!!! Somewhat anyway…

    Mine worked perfectly till yesterday now is saying constructing encryption failed I don't know what happened. There is nothing wrong with my router and there is nothing wrong with my internet

      This one is kinda common! So try this and see if it helps check and see if the WPA/WPA2 is enabled. Also the DHCP function. And disable your wireless access control! Trying that seems to work sometimes. Worth a shot!

      @@quarantinedad I don't even know where to go at on the settings but I have a Netgear AC 1750 Wireless Wi-Fi cable modem I remove the devices and reset and reconnect them they seem to work for a couple of minutes now it's showing the same error

    Same issue with the Auto-I.R. on 720p or 1080p cams from merkury, however, the issue im having is lines running thru one of my cams. Great signal. i.r. or color has them... direct to router or through wi-fi extender..w/ or w/out the memory card... even completely reset it, changed charging cords/bricks... great cameras other...1 out of 4 and it happens to be my oldest camera at about 18months

      Is it like old school tv lines or choppy lines! Almost sounds like the camera has gotten wet or damaged somehow..! I hope that isn’t the case though!!

      I personally haven’t had that issue but sounds like a WiFi connection problem.... but could be the camera.

      Becuase TH-cam won’t play when it closed or minimized on most phone!

      Well yes usually it does keep playing because I gave permission for TH-cam to draw over other apps plus whenever I'm listening to TH-cam stories and I switch over to do something else like Amazon shopping or whatever I can still hear the TH-cam story in the background. Now that doesn't happen when I go to the camera app it just completely shut down TH-cam.

    It says it stores vids to your phone without the SD but i dont know where to find them to look at the recorded vids

      When I was connecting to my camera it gave me the option to choose the option to connect to 5g or the 2.4 WiFi! The sucky part is it wouldn’t connect to the 5g!

      Do you have your sd card in it? And turn on your motion detection that way it records and you can go back and look at it!

      @@paulfitzgerald4933 well setting it up requires a 2.4ghz WiFi connection! It reads the QR code on screen in the app to set it up. But to do motion detection is pretty simple. 1 Open app. 2 Select device. 3 select motion detection! And won’t hurt to have an SD card!

      The only thing I know is that they say 2.4ghz WiFi connection! That’s the only thing I have ever found!

    I have the black ones and the only downer here is when I do the two way mic, family can’t really hear it loud.

      Make sure they are on 2.5 instead of 5g and make sure they are in range! Let me know if that works

    Do you know how to view the camera over the computer?, I'm trying to use xeoma but I don't know the default username / password when I put the camera ip

      As of right now you can get geeni devices to work on that platform, only on google home Alexa and geeni But hopefully it’s coming soon! But as far as the username and password you can factory reset it. Not sure if that helps you.....! But I hope so and hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

      I know that if you hold the reset button on the camera for 5 seconds it will factory reset. And you just follow the voice prompt after that other then that I haven’t done it a different way sorry!

      If you open the geeni app and go to add device, at the top there will be a barcode scanner, go to upc-us.ismartlife.me/login and scan the code it will connect you via pc viewing using your geeni account

    How do I connect my merkury innovation smart WiFi camera to my Alexa echo show 8 ?

      Open Alexa and click on the three lines in the upper left hand Corner. Next click on skills. Now search for geeni icon. When you find it click or tap on enable. Sign into your geeni account. And last from the smart home menu tap on devices, then discover devices. Hope this helps! Cheers!

      It should basically be the same! Umm on the Alexa echo 8 you might have to follow slightly different instructions. I’m not sure what the difference will be. But it should walk you through it. Let me know if you get it connected!

      Mine had a thin protective film on them! But it was directly in front of the camera lens! And it had a a pull tab to remove! But other then that I’m not sure 🤔! Hope this help! But if you have already removed it then it should work!!

    I purchased one and can't figure out the continuous recording part because I have a 128gb micro sd card in it but it doesn't record anything until I go into the app but as soon as I exit the app it stops recording. My question is does yours record without the app being on?

      Yes with motion alerts turned on. That way it can record everything and send you notifications!

      1. Continuous recording and;
      2. Motion detection
      I don't want motion detection just nonstop recording.

    Mine no longer has this option... Not very happy with this product. Our detection is a random event, as well when it detects movement, it shows you 10 seconds AFTER the fact. So using it like I used to a year ago (due to updates) this has become a very bad product. Only takes bad programming to ruin a decent thing...It is useful, but for business security I would sway away from due to terrible updates like I am experiencing. Nice walk through though! :)

      Go to your camera in the app click on it then select the three dots ... and scroll down till you see device sharing then just follow the directions

      The noise means they are having trouble connecting to WiFi or have disconnected completely! Check and see how strong your WiFi is!

    How do you simply turn it completely OFF? I want to turn it OFF while I'm at home and ON when I go to work. Also does the BLUE LIGHT indicate anything other than it's PLUGGED IN? Also is their a shutter that closes and opens?

      The blue light means that the camera is working! And when your home you can turn you Motion alerts off. But as far as turning it off completely where you can’t view the camera you would have to unplug it! Or you can also get one of the Merkury smart outlets and turn the outlet off and on when needed.

      @@quarantinedad I think my last cam was hacked (CloudCam YCC 365). It's App had an on/off feature and a open/close feature for the shutter. It was in my den. At night I would hear the shutter open, the red night vision lights came on and I even saw it move. That's why I'm cautious. Thanks for the info.✌️

      Oh nooo! Then yeah I see why and what you mean! The 720p smart wifi cameras however you don’t have to worry about something like that! Because for geeni app unless you let some one have control of devices they can just take control! :)

    I recently added a second camera to the app , and apparently I stop receiving notifications from the app , can’t figure out why.

      Go into the app and click setting and check to see if you have your notifications on. Then select the camera you want and go to motion detect and make sure it’s on. That should make sure you receive notifications. Hope this helps!

    I hate this because it only says in the manual the camera cant run on 5G and no where on the box does it say you have to have 2G. VERY MISLEADING

      The 1089p camera I bought said 2.4ghz WiFi on the box! But it can be misleading!

      Humm well my first question is have you shared any of your device information with anyone? If you haven’t done that through Devi e sharing in the app then no one has messed with you cam. But if you have when you go to device sharing it will tell you who is sharing! That’s really the only way that I know how!

      They do get erased after more video and motion alerts are taken! However if it didn’t erase then it should let you put the date it and pull the video up! That’s only if it hasn’t erased and if it hasn’t save it to your phone! That way you will have it

    I’m having issue with getting my playback recordings. I got it 3 days ago and it has been fine and updated me on motion and I was able to watch playback yesterday but now it’s telling me all videos are done for today. I can’t even watch the video from last night

      Is that what it tells you when you go to play back? If not try going to playback and select the date. Next question is do you have a SD card?

      Open the app and click on your device. From there go to record. That will pull up the option to screen shot or record. Click on the clip you want to record on your phone and select record. That will save it to your phone! Hope this has helped!

      No u do not......it will create a folder on ur phone and store the screenshot pics third.......u need a SD card however to store video

      J on my iphone it does not put the screen shots in a folder they go directly to my photos ...... and you are right for about video you do have to have an SD card.
