After watching the latest episode, it dawned on me that most if not all sidekicks are just violated in the worst ways, either consensually or not, it’s all a big reference to how people in the 70s assumed that Batman and robin were gay
They could have ended it all that season with this, suped up Butch and Soldier Boy vs Homelander, but they had to give us that horrendous finale to stretch it 2 more seasons.

In the color spectrum orange is stronger than red so basically billy's lasers are stronger than homelander's he just haven't learned to control it yet. And fun fact blue is on the top powerful so that baby from season 1 had the most powerful lasers in the boys by far.

He hits him hard enough to knock him back 20 feet, but somehow doesn't kill him instantly when punching him directly in the head at a downward angle 5 times. Not to mention his hand would go through him instead of knocking him back. Maybe not if he is wearing body armor.
Why would his hand go through instead of knocking him back? He’s a man standing on two feet. You can knock somebody back with an ordinary punch because of a lack of firm footing. His hand would go through with that much force only if there was nowhere else for him to go.
Depending how quick you have to calculate trajectory I feel like it can cross over into superpower territory. Particularly when you're doing near impossible shots.
I get that they wanted to make Billy's powers thematically like Homelander's to show how he's becoming what he hates, but when Homelander's kid is already developing the same powers, we have too many Superman clones running around. It's too late to do anything about it now, but I think it would have been interesting to the Butcher frost breath instead of heat vision, so still a superman style set, but coldblooded to counter Homelander's hotheaded nature. Also, every butcher needs a freezer.

I get that they wanted to make Billy's powers thematically like Homelander's to show how he's becoming what he hates, but when Homelander's kid is already developing the same powers, we have too many Superman clones running around. It's too late to do anything about it now, but I think it would have been interesting to the Butcher frost breath instead of heat vision, so still a superman style set, but coldblooded to counter Homelander's hotheaded nature. Also, every butcher needs a freezer.
