About The Boys Season 3: It's been a year of calm. Homelander's subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. I absolutely love the scene where Huey puts down the V and pumps up the lights instead to help Annie. He realizes how much he's come to rely on the strength of the V, and decides to use his brain to help instead.

@@cheesehands3112 no, I mean that throughout season 3, they because reliant and addicted to the power of temp V, and that only fed into Huey's insecurities about not being enough. He realized that it wasn't all about him being as strong physically, but about doing what was the best solution. If you can't stomach a main character who isn't as powerful as some supporting characters and antagonists, I don't know how you got through the first 2 seasons
I hope hughie gets his powers back, i don't care about starlight, i just want to see all supes dying by butcher hands if it is possible or homelander winning because the boys comic and tv show is a pseudo concept of our reality

The show critiques superstar culture and satirizes heroes, but it by no means is meant to make everything as bleak as possible. If you want grimdark, read the comics, if you want a cohesive story with actual themes and ideals instead of misery porn, you watch the show.

Have you never heard of suspension of disbelief? It's the basis you need before watching any movie, because that's what Fantasy is built on. Realistic in this case refers to how believable it is in the context of the story. As long as powers adhere to the ruleset established within the show, they are, for all intents and purposes, realistic.

I’d wait until Temp V was perfected and had less drastic side effects, then take it to see what my powers are. If my powers are good (telekinesis, flight, or something else) then I’d keep some Temp V lying around just in case. A “break glass in case of emergency” pill.

I feel like I'd be tempted to, much like everyone else. The thing is I tend to overthink a lot of stuff and I imagine fear would kick in at some point and it would be pretty hard to ignore that fear.

im just now realizing temp v doesnt only give someone superpowers but also can read their minds, temp v gave butcher the powers of homelander, because.. well, he hates homelander and wants to kill him. temp v gave hughie the ability to teleport, because hughie doesn't like to be the center of attention, and constantly wants out of situations that butcher puts him in.
So what powers can laziness and depression produce?

I'd take permanent V since I'm still younger than 18. I think in the show, if someone who's older than 20s take permanent V, it couldnt show its effects on them and maybe even kill them as Homelander said. But it was working with no problem in the comics.
A-Train ended up with an enlarged heart. Definitely side effects. Kind of like steroids. It could also depend on the type of powers that manifest. If they manifest like Homelander's, his healing factor (which I'd assume he has on some level) would likely nullify it negative effects.

They should really manufacture compound v that gives specific powers
I'm guessing the compound doesn't give random powers... it is fuelled by the user's psychology...
*Homelander sees himself as America's Son... everything Superman stands for... and so his powers are a reflection of that. He can fly because he looks down on everybody else and has no real human connections other than Butcher and his son Ryan. Plus being born with the compound v naturally in his DNA… means his body produces its own supply… probably explaining why he is so powerful. Same with Ryan.
*Billy Butcher's desire to go toe-to-toe with Homelander in a brutal street fight is why he got his set of powers... the strength, durability, heat vision… it’s all specifically designed to physically hurt Homelander with Homelander’s own powers… not much else. Butcher has no desire for other powers…
*Soldier Boy's desire to be a "real man" made him the strongest and toughest one... his radioactive abilities are a side effect of the compound v mutating inside him due to the Russians experimenting on him. Or more likely his powers are related to Extreme personal beliefs about Social Darwinism… he adapts and gets tougher…
*Stormfront's abilities are reminiscent of Nordic deities from Norse paganism, which was dominant theological beliefs amongst the Nazis.
*Hughie's abilities do seem to reflect his innate desire to get people he cares about out of danger....
These are some examples... the rest may not have been elaborated on enough for me to think deeply about them.

I absolutely love how everyone knows how to use intravenous drugs in this day and age
I'm so lucky that taking the compound V wouldn't affect me. But, in fact, abilities that increase physical strength, intelligence, reaction, regeneration and endurance would be good. Being superman is tempting, of course, but few people on the planet will be able to keep their sanity if they receive divine power of the highest order. Being a little stronger, faster, fitter and healthier than an ordinary person is the best choice. It's like being Captain America or Wolverine, but without shield and claws 😁

One of the top comments in this section said that the smart way to use the V is take the temp V just once to find out if you will have powers or not then proceed to take permanent V. I think that's the way you can avoid death and/or turning you brain into swiss cheese.

He doesn't. His powers allow him to engage in combat effectively since his strength is just THAT much more superior to other supes. Without his powers even Hughie would be able to destroy him in a fight.
If i got a perfected non deadly side-effects 25 million to 50 dollar Temporary Compound V24, i would want a mixed bag of unique abilities, which for me would be Super-Strength, Super-reflexes, Finger-Nail regeneration to grow long hard light energy nails and shoot the ends off and they grow back normal non use and, super healing, and Super-Durability so kinda like some knock-off version of Wolverine. You don't even need camouflage or heal if you just pick invincibility (kinda like Homelander). So fly, invincibility, heat vision, super strength and maybe shapeshift and you can literally destroy the world.

Take temp V to find out if you're going to get worthwhile powers. If yes, take regular compound V while the temp V is still in your system so you'll be strong enough to survive it. Compound V normally kills or cripples adults, but the enhancements from temp V could probably counteract that.
