I only have one 6mm pipe, the rest of my filtered pipes are 9’s. I have some Grabow and balsa filters but glad to hear that Savinelli is making 6mm charcoal filters now. I have to cut the Grabows to fit my pipe. Be well and have a great weekend my friend!
That’s great...another option! I’m getting low on my White Elephant 6mm; I may try the Savinelli next. A White Elephant would not let me put the bit all the way in my little Savinelli Lolita. I fixed that with a 1/4” drill bit...
LMAO. I seriously have never had that problem yet except for one old estate medico pipe that I don't think had the original stem in. The Charcolito works the best in that one. Def give the Savinelli a try. Im gonna try and enjoy a bowl this weekend with one in place to see the outcome!

Great revies. You said the Savinelli 6mm charcoal have a slightly more restrictive draw than the White Elephant 6mm Superflow filters, I have some of the "Superflow" and find them pretty restrictive. The Savinellis are more restrictive than those?
I personally think the savenelli 6mm are more akin to the old white elephant 6mm charcoal filters. But I know many see them opposite. Ultimately you have to find what works for you. :) if you don’t like one set you can always send Em my way. 😜😇

Yeah the White Elephant 6mm filters I sent you wouldn’t fit my Savinellis. I ended up selling them to SmokingPipes. I prefer the draw with the 9mm filters anyways. It is good to know that the new Savinelli filters work in cobs and Dr. Grabows/Medicos!! Thanks for the review 👍
I wish the 6mm charcoal filters were a bit smaller in diameter. They expand while smoking and break off when I try to remove them while cleaning my pipe. I have one older Savinelli where there is enough room in the mortise to allow me to easily remove the filter after smoking.
Yeah the savinellis are def as thick if not a tad thicker than the W.E. I haven’t experienced that phenomenon with any of my smokes but I tend to usually use medico or grabows now which the tenon is adjustable so there can be some play in the fit. Maybe that’s why. 🤷🏻♂️
Have never used filter but thinking of doing it. Worried about the tenons wearing out from all the twisting and removing and putting the stem back on. Not a problem?

Unfortunately, all the pipes that I have are 6 mm. Because I want to keep my mouth healthy, plus the balsa filters weren't good for my mouth safety. I need your advice please.
The white elephant do not work in EVERY savinelli pipe unfortunately. Savinelli 6mm filters, however do work in every pipe even my old medicos and dr grabows. I too only use charcoal filters. I’m predominantly smoke 6mm also these days but use 9mm on occasion. :) if you wanted to be safe and only spend money on one type of filter I’d buy savinelli. Hope this helps! Thanks for the sub! Thanks for commenting. I have smoked filters exclusively since around 2012 and never had a broken tenon. 😇👍🏻. For me they are life savers.
