Hi would this car be worth it going into 2024. I’ve seen some well specc’d ones for £15, less than 85k mileage I look for. Are the batteries reliable etc
Yeah I didn't own mine for that long so not sure what the replacement rate is on them. I would probably try to get a 2020+ as I think the warranty on the battery would be longer vs miles on the car so it may still be covered.
I have a 2018 330e. I've had to take it to the dealer about every 6 months due to warning lights. They had to replace the lithum batteries under warranty once. Can't imagine how expensive that would have been if I had to pay. That's why I lease BMW's. They don't last long. Oh by the way I only put about 15,000 miles on it, lol.
Ah, I'm a big Lexus fan as well. GS350 would be a good choice or a GS450H if you can find one. This 330e would be excellent CPO because of the mileage reasons stated in the vid.
Should I buy this in 2022? I have an offer for 2018 model and in total after lease would cost me around 20k $. It has 60k miles on it, but I am wondering about battery. Do you think that battery will last at least another 3-4 years?
Eh, in 2022 they now have those i4 pure electrics that can take over the crown from an average 3-series. I'd personally be eyeing a used version of that after they come off lease. The 330e was nice but for 60k they should be charging a whole lot less.
Presumably a small phev battery would have a hard life and likely fail sooner than an bev. Also a low use gas engine still has the same annual servicing requirements and probably more wear if it doesnt warm up properly. Phevs are likely to be problematic as they get older.
Hi there. Yes I had to return the lease. The dealership reposted it for around 29k and it sold in a day. Yup it’s a great car used. I barely used that engine because I was on electric so much. Good luck with the search!
I've been seriously considering this vehicle as my next car, but unsure if it is offered in xdrive all wheel drive? Can't seem to find much on it, so I assume it RWD
@@Frontlaven thanks for the confirmation! I learned tonight that the 530e is available in xdrive, that's a fantastic deal for the used market if someone is interested in that size of a vehicle. 50km range too, so it's more appealing on the electric side!
It depends on if u want to go full electric or not. This car can do about 20 miles FE.So if u can charge it on both ends u can.But the car itself is not designed for that. Its a sport car wich benefits from both the termic and the electric motor.Hope it helps! GL
In 3 years? That would be kinda short for a traction battery. Something like a Prius lasts well into 10-15 years, but not sure what kind of batteries the 330e is using.
When you charge it to up to 100% so is that in fact just around 80% of what its max capacity of the battery is. This is to help keep the batteries healthy.
@@Frontlaven also, did you ever notice your full charge number decrease? Mine was at 24mi. now it is at 19mi after a full charge. I know climate changes batt. capacity, but I live in a warmer weather area.
@@lloydharry Yes I definitely saw this. It is influenced by anything like temperature/weather as well as when the last time it was maxed charged up so it's fairly unpredictable as in there isn't a fixed "electric miles available" max.
Unfortunately I don't know of a way. None of the menus in the car itself shows details relating to this. Maybe there are metrics that can be retrieved from the ODB, but I haven't read about anything. Yeah it was a variable that just came to me while thinking about the actual engine-use of the car vs miles driven.
As in the engine is completely off? Yes, a lot of miles, that's the beauty of the plug-in aspect of the car. Now if we're talking about the hybrid capabilities then yes, the engine will start/stop frequently and the engine will not be at a constant operating temperature but that goes for all hybrid engines, so I'm sure the engineers knew about this in the design.
What do the prices look like? We had a 320i before and my one sentence review is that it had good gas mileage, was peppy enough, and drove like a BMW but after 5 years things felt like it was going to start breaking. For the 330e, as my video went over, it's a great car if the price is right because of the fact that depending on how it was driven, the actual gas engine may have very little real miles on it.
Absolutely the worst car I have owned. Nothing but poor quality, 9 mile electric range, bits falling off, O2 sensor failure, charging errors, door seals falling off, cheap plastic interior and worst customer service out of the 1800's. Never will I ever buy a BMW again
Wow really? Yeah I didn't run into any of those problems. Just returned it after 3 years and it was all good. I will say that the Homelink remote started flaking out a bit and BMW's customer service always sucks.
Nope, I've never had an alignment done on the car as I haven't changed the tires yet, but my 330e drives pretty straight. Maybe getting one alignment job done may fix it.
@@Frontlaven I think it's a manufacturer issue in bmw malaysia as in like 9 out of 10 owners have this alignment issue. I have complaint twice to bmw and they said the alignment readings is correct but it still pull towards left. This cause our tyres to wear towards the outer side only.
@@Frontlaven oh. In Malaysia 330e is very common as we don't have much choice due to bmw malaysia will spec up the e models n the i models is the lower spec
the 330e are fun to drive, great work!
Definitely. A very peppy drive.
The problems i facing now are:
1. alignment
2. air-cond not cold when slow drive or jam, especially under the hot sun

Just got the same car! Anyway to see the mph on the panel anywhere! TIA
Yes you can code it
Hello, do you think a used 2018 bmw 330e with 24k miles is worth financing in 2023?
Could be depending on price. But I'd try to get some sort of warranty on it since it is a BMW
