Thankful I didn't die in the 80s when a teenager riding YAMAHA RD LCs
😂 Sounds like you’ve got some wild stories from back in the day! Those RD LCs were definitely known for being a handful, but that’s what made them so fun, right?
If they actually made this, they couldn't keep up with production 😌
Totally agree! If this ever became a reality, the demand would be through the roof. Yamaha would have a hard time keeping up with orders! 😌
I would sell all my other bikes just to buy this one. Bring back two strokes !!!
🏍️🏍️🏍️
That’s some serious dedication! 🙌 Let’s hope Yamaha hears us! 🏍️🏍️🏍️💨
I sell all my RD 400's to get 2.
I'd love to see the return of this legendary bike
@perryreynolds194
Same here! A comeback for this legend would be epic. Fingers crossed Yamaha makes it happen someday!
The most fun bike I ever owned. The RZ 350 1988. Would be amazing to have a 2025 with modern improvements
Sounds like you had a blast with the '88 RZ 350! A 2025 version with modern upgrades would be something else, for sure. :D
I'd be very interested 😊
@ianwarriner8193
Glad to hear you're interested! 😊 It’s exciting to think about the possibilities for the RD350. If Yamaha ever does bring it back, it could be a real game-changer.
I would get my cheque book out asap
Sounds like you're ready to jump on it! Let’s just hope it becomes a reality so we can all start writing those checks 😄
A euro 5 compliant two stroke, will look good in a photo shoot with some unicorns and a T rex.
😂 Now that would be an epic shoot! Maybe throw in a dragon for good measure! 🏍️
@@MotoLogues And the Loch Ness monster while they're at it
If you buy one make sure you run that engine in no matter how tempting 😂 2 strokes take me back to my teens. I'm a four stroker now but i still dream of owning a fast 2 stroke😋 RG 500, RD 500 RD 350 RGV 250 yes please 🙏
@019208237
Great advice on running in the engine, but it's worth the patience! 😂 Two-strokes definitely have a nostalgic vibe. I get the dream of owning fast two-strokes like the RG 500, RD 500, RD 350, or RGV 250. They were such legends! 😋🙏 Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm..
I still ride my 89 RD350 (Candian model) often. It's very slow compared to a modern streetbike, but still a LOT of fun to ride. I'll never sell it.
@darrellfranks7215
That’s awesome! Must be a blast to ride, even if it’s not as fast as the newer bikes. There’s just something special about the RD350, huh? Sounds like a keeper for life!
Your bike slow what speed does it go. What year is your bike 👍
looks a lot like my 85 Yamaha RZ Kenny Roberts special, and now at 60, I still WANT that bike.... even at 1 mill yen, $6,900.00 US
@rokbottom999
That’s amazing! The Kenny Roberts RZ is such a classic. It’s awesome that your passion for bikes is still going strong at 60! 💪 Even at 1 million yen, it’s worth every penny for a piece of history like that. Do you still ride often?
@@MotoLogues only when it's not too hot and not too cold, living in Texas now and weather can be BRUTAL! lol
@@rokbottom999 Totally get that! Texas weather can be wild. Gotta find that perfect riding window when it’s just right! Do you still have your RZ, or are you keeping an eye out for another classic?
If its a 2 stroke great ! If it's not they can keep it !
haha totally get it! if it's not a 2-stroke, kinda loses that magic right? 😅 fingers crossed tho!
They'll never build another two-stroke street bike but man I'd love to have an RD with a 500cc four stroke with all the trick new stuff. Sign me up please. I mean how fun would one be with a quick shifter :-)
@user-qb2kt2zf3n
Totally get where you're coming from! A modern RD with a 500cc four-stroke and all the latest tech would be incredible. Imagine the fun with a quick shifter! 😍 While it seems unlikely for Yamaha to bring back a two-stroke street bike, a modern take with new tech would definitely be exciting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
The driving position of your design is more radical.
This is pure bullsh*t. The chances of ANY manufacturer producing a two-stroke motor is exactly- ZERO.
Zero? Here are some mtorcycles that use 2-stroke engines tday: KTM 125 SX, 250 SX. Husqvarna TC 125, TC 250. Yamaha YZ 125, YZ 250.
@@MotoLogues "Off-Road Competition" models. Research Euro 5 and US EPA for road vehicles.
You're right, those models are designed for off-road and don't meet Euro 5 or EPA standards for road use. 🛠️ The challenge is definitely in making two-strokes road-legal under these regulations.
Just to clarify, I didn’t specify that the bike is a two-stroke in the video. The design concept does feature a distinctive two-stroke exhaust shape, which might have led to that assumption. While I didn’t mention the engine type specifically, the focus was on showcasing the design and potential performance features. Thanks for pointing that out!
@@MotoLogues That graphic.. while beautiful (who made it?), is CLEARLY a two-stroke, from the design of the motor, the exhaust, (which could NEVER be used on a 4-stroke).. to the "YPVS" and "RD350" emblems.. IS a 2-stroke. As an old two-smoker owner, I would LOVE to see this pictured dream.. but unfortunately IT NEVER WILL HAPPEN. There are many guys who wish it WOULD... but no way in hell.
@@888jackflash Thanks for the kind words on the graphic! The design was actually created by Kardesign, as mentioned in the description, and you can definitely see their attention to detail in capturing that classic two-stroke vibe. While it’s true that the design features like the exhaust and emblems are inspired by the iconic RD350, the video is more about imagining what a modern take could be, rather than confirming a two-stroke comeback. I share your love for the old two-smokers, and it would be amazing if something like this could become a reality, even if it seems unlikely. Appreciate your thoughts!
Bring back the RD 125cc LC and the 350cc LC and the 500cc LC . I had the 350cc LC in the 80,s mine had every thing extra it could have had I really love my bike. YER BRING THE BACK ASAP 💪💪💪 i would buy the 500cc
If Raleigh can remake the chopper ..Yamaha could do the YPVS
@IMMORTALDIO
Right?! If Raleigh can bring back the Chopper, Yamaha should totally bring back the YPVS 😄 Would be a dream come true for a lot of us!
I would like to know the exact motorcycle that Yamaha is building. I see pictures with a kickstart lever and some without. Round headlamps on some and more modern twin headlamp system. Some say 110 horsepower; some say 60. Some have inverted forks and some are upright. Which is it? Does it have both expansion chambers and catalytic converters? There is a lot of negativity out there about the ability to produce a Euro 5 compliant two-stroke. They have had 35 years to work on making it possible. Advancements with fuel-injection, oil injection, synthetic oil products, catalytic converters, high compression, and liquid cooling all working to make a lighter engine with fewer parts and astounding performance possible. My money is waiting for this bike.
I totally get where you’re coming from. There’s a lot of mixed information out there, and to be clear, what I shared is mostly based on speculation and fan concepts, not an official Yamaha release. It’s hard to say what the final product might look like, if it ever even happens. The different designs you’ve seen are just interpretations of what a modern RD350 could be. This is all fueled by the news that Yamaha has patented the name RZ350, which is another name for the RD350. As for the Euro 5 compliant two-stroke, it’s definitely a challenge, but with all the advancements you mentioned, it’s not impossible. We’re all hoping for the best, but for now, it’s just a waiting game. Fingers crossed Yamaha delivers something amazing!
@@MotoLogues Thank You for your reply! You might possibly know exactly when Yamaha makes their new model releases, or is it based on when they are ready?
@@allanweseman5433 Glad I could help! 😊 As far as I know, Yamaha usually announces new models around major motorcycle shows like EICMA or when they're ready for the next big launch. But it can vary depending on their plans. Hopefully, we’ll get more concrete news soon.
I think if it were really coming out for sure I would order one....that Akai Colour Scheme ....so early 80s
....
'''Oh Vienna "!
Cheers Mate
Lee
@Lee-cz6ss
That Akai color scheme really takes you back to the early 80s-so iconic. If this were actually coming out, I can see why you’d want to order one! 🎨 Cheers, mate! 'Oh Vienna,' indeed!
Winga Ding Ding !!!
If it aint a 2 stroke forget it .
@daveo226
Feel ya! If it's not a 2-stroke, it just doesn’t hit the same.
? How will this conform with emissions etc being a 2stroke ??
Meeting modern emissions standards with a two-stroke would be a huge challenge. With all the Euro 5 regulations, it’s tough to imagine, but with advances in tech like fuel injection and catalytic converters, who knows what could be possible? 🤷♂️
Wow stunning Bike make it 📦✅👏👏👏
Handsome to say the least....
@nodrog5150
Glad you think so! It really does have a classic look, doesn’t it? Thanks for the compliment!
I WANT ONE!,!
@simonwiltshire7089
If they actually bring it back, it’s gonna be hard to resist grabbing one 😆
@@MotoLogues never had an LC as a kid. Some of my friends had the air cooled version. The sound!!!!!!!! : )
@simonwiltshire7089
The sound of those old air-cooled two-strokes was something else, right? 😄 Nothing quite like it!
I have 3 daughters to sell to buy this without regret 😂
@Konka2020
Sounds like you’re really committed to getting one of these! 😂 Hopefully, it doesn’t come to that, but it’s great to see how passionate you are about it. If only they made these bikes, right?
The funny thing is, the old 2 strokes will pass ulez in the U.K. 😂
@johnstephens1447
Haha, that’s wild! 😂 The irony of old 2-strokes being ULEZ-compliant while so many modern bikes aren’t is just too good
How would yamy get it to pass emission regulations in the US? what about California?
@alexwotherspoon5630
Meeting US emission regulations, especially in California, would be a huge challenge for a two-stroke engine. It would likely require advanced tech like fuel injection, catalytic converters, and possibly other emissions-reducing technologies. Yamaha would need to innovate quite a bit to make a new RD350 comply with these strict standards. It's definitely a big hurdle for any manufacturer looking to bring a two-stroke back to the road.
I doubt Yamaha will use the YPVS nomenclature because this system only benefits two stroke engines. This will not, and can not be, a two-stroke because it would not comply with modern emission regulations. More likely, Yamaha is planning to release a retrofied version of the R3 using that bikes motor.
110 HP from a 350 cc two stroke street legal? I doubt it !! And about emissions?? Makes no sense they can re launch this. If so, I will buy one, it will be my 6th RD350. I had two 1974/76 models and three LC YPVS models (1987/90 and 1992), Brazilian versions. I tuned several of them for many of my customers at that time (I had a service shop here in Brazil). That's why I doubt it will come back and with such high power.
Bellissima. Un sogno.
@claudiodondi4407
Grazie mille! Sono d'accordo, è davvero un sogno. Che cosa ti piace di più di questa moto?
Bring it on!
@Between-Bikes
Bring it on indeed! The rumors have got everyone excited. 🔥 While we’re still waiting for official confirmation, it’s fun to imagine what could be in store.
❤ speriamo che venga prodotta.
Sì, speriamo davvero! Sarebbe fantastico vederla in produzione.
Let it come pls
I hope so 😊
Make it with a low seat height please
@nhhammer8782
Yupp, a lower seat height would definitely make it more accessible for a lot of riders.
If only!
@kevowski
Yeah, I know right? It’s something a lot of us can only dream about! 😄
@@MotoLogues Yamaha won’t have the bottle to do it based on the anti emission brigade.
Can’t wait to get my Suzuki X7 restoration finished 😊
Hazy days ahead🤣
I don't think you can "patent a name", possibly what they mean is that Yamaha has got a trademark to protect the name , but that is a different story.😊
You’re absolutely right! Trademarking might make more sense in this context. Thanks for pointing that out! However, this is just speculation.😊.
Very Nice Bike
Thanks a lot! Glad you like it! 🏍️
Love it, but will it comply to those stooopid EU emission rules????
Glad you love it! That’s a good question-meeting those strict EU emission rules could be a challenge, but we'll have to wait and see!
Yes but there is always ways around it
Definitely, there are ways to work around it, but it’ll be interesting to see how they balance performance with emissions. 😊
so what your saying is that this is a wish bike with no more chance of being built than a dinosaur!
Pretty much! 😅 This is more of a 'what if' concept than anything else. Just having some fun imagining what could be, even if it’s as likely as bringing back dinosaurs
Thanks to fuel injection this new rz could be my 4th rz 350 I'm ready are you?
@williamportie491
Fuel injection definitely brings a modern touch to a classic legend. 🚀 With three RZ350s under your belt, the fourth one will fit right in! I’m ready-let’s see what Yamaha brings to the table! Are there any specific features you’re hoping for?
If they did make any, their would only be a handful and go for silly money to collectors
