My favorite part is when Taven walks up on goro from behind all badass and is like “enjoying the view?” and goro turns around all quick like wtf? and says “who are you?!”
Come to think of it, Taven's life is really depressing. He went from catching with his brother then wakes up years later not knowing what had happened to his family and what the world has become. In the end he died doubting what side of the coin he is. That hits hard.

They cant use him anymore because Lore wise he is the strongest fighter in the entire series and only the elder gods can defeat him. Idk how they can have him back in the story now.

One big missed opportunity. I think having Taven being clueless hurt his character depth. It would have been awesome to have him say things like: "Lin Kuei? The Lin Kuei I know do not wear those colors" (Referring to the crimson tunics from the Lin Kuei's grand masters). "The Black Dragon? You mean that small gang of bandits from Earthrealm?" "A Shaolin named Kung Lao? The one I know wears a bandana, not a hat." He could have been asleep from right after the Mortal Kombat that the Great Kung Lao lost. At least he could have been up to date with Mortal Kombat post Outworld's first victory. Calling Reptile a "Lizzard" instead of a Zaterran or Saurian since I think back when Taven was born, Zaterra would have still exist. Little details like that could have built up the character of Taven much more. Taven may as well have been born right there. Being clueless only knowing his brother and Raiden disconnected him from all previous games.
Maybe he knows his species and is just being racist towards Reptile. Obviously not the case, but I agree that some interactions where he flexes his history knowledge could be neat.
Part of that might have been to show that as a demi-god, Taven was in a different league than the rest. Though it would have been cool to get some old lore from him.

It could've been good for both him and us to have "outdated" info, trying to understand who are those guys while also giving a bit of info every now and then from his own time for us to learn how was the mk universe before all the events we already knew from previous games
They should definitely give Wu Lae, the orange ninja, the Tremor treatment. Him and Chameleon are the only canon ninjas that are yet to be brought back.
Imo Taven is the most relatable protagonist. Dude awakened in a world he had no knowledge or idea of and he acts like it. He has no idea what tf is going on and no idea who is an enemy or friend. You can even hear Taven just absolutely sick of everyone being hostile when he meets sub zero, as he sighs in annoyance and says "and you are?" like he just wants everyone to f off. Its unintentionally hilarious
This is off topic, and probably an unpopular opinion, but I would be so ecstatic if they brought back Sonya's 3D era outfit at least as a selectable skin for MK12. It's kinda badass imo. Lol
@@biostar4 The only "fun" is knowing what the artifacts are. Unlocking the Krypt completely requires you to either spend your koins or get every piece of artifact which BTW can be annoying to do once you learn that this mode has no actual back tracking unless you start over or go new game plus.

It would have been awesome to have him say things like:
"Lin Kuei? The Lin Kuei I know do not wear those colors" (Referring to the crimson tunics from the Lin Kuei's grand masters).
"The Black Dragon? You mean that small gang of bandits from Earthrealm?"
"A Shaolin named Kung Lao? The one I know wears a bandana, not a hat."
He could have been asleep from right after the Mortal Kombat that the Great Kung Lao lost.
At least he could have been up to date with Mortal Kombat post Outworld's first victory.
Calling Reptile a "Lizzard" instead of a Zaterran or Saurian since I think back when Taven was born, Zaterra would have still exist. Little details like that could have built up the character of Taven much more.
Taven may as well have been born right there. Being clueless only knowing his brother and Raiden disconnected him from all previous games.
Maybe he knows his species and is just being racist towards Reptile.
Obviously not the case, but I agree that some interactions where he flexes his history knowledge could be neat.
He knew that Goro was a Shokan which was cool.
Part of that might have been to show that as a demi-god, Taven was in a different league than the rest. Though it would have been cool to get some old lore from him.
Yeah because he's wayyy older than all of the previous games. It kind of defeats the purpose of his character to know that. He's purposely a blank state. Not that it's the best move
It could've been good for both him and us to have "outdated" info, trying to understand who are those guys while also giving a bit of info every now and then from his own time for us to learn how was the mk universe before all the events we already knew from previous games

Taven never met the ENTIRE cast of MK characters(seriously this game has 60+ characters,not counting the kreate-a-fighter character).
Imo Taven is the most relatable protagonist. Dude awakened in a world he had no knowledge or idea of and he acts like it. He has no idea what tf is going on and no idea who is an enemy or friend. You can even hear Taven just absolutely sick of everyone being hostile when he meets sub zero, as he sighs in annoyance and says "and you are?" like he just wants everyone to f off. Its unintentionally hilarious

@@biostar4 The only "fun" is knowing what the artifacts are. Unlocking the Krypt completely requires you to either spend your koins or get every piece of artifact which BTW can be annoying to do once you learn that this mode has no actual back tracking unless you start over or go new game plus.
