I'd love to see them get to this scenario again in a rebooted timeline - the setup is very Shakespearean and would benefit greatly from another dialogue pass and the current tech and voice talent NRS has available to really bring it to life.
Taven would likely still be asleep, Daegon should be alive but we simply don't see him... And rains ending isn't cannon but they both die in that ending. Maybe by MK3 (Kangs new timeline) we'll see Armageddon but hopefully with a different outcome (where daegon isn't released early). We also knew thru MK11 that raiden kept sending a message back to the OG tournament time period (warning that kahn must win or something similar). And if you think about it Chronica mentioned that she met raiden in multiple timelines, but what if Chronica is from the OG timeline? Where she took down OG wielder of the hourglass IE Raiden or even Kang? But we're speculating as with time involved we're just throwing everything up in the air.
Maybe the fact he beats so many? I don't know I like him. He can be a bit stuck up but I mean if i was the kid of a god-like being so would I most likely. I'm just annoyed his winning did nothing to stop the end and Shao Kahn just is the winner now
@@lightdarksoul2097 I like to think that Shao Kahn won because Taven and Daegon were too busy battling eachother as it was never intended to go down that way. Also could be that when Raiden sent a message to his past self in MK9 it was only because he was about to die and maybe Taven had yet to show up so Raiden would have no way of knowing Taven wins therefore he fucked up the timeline for no reason.

Yeah but most of the endings don't solve the whole issue of the fighters becoming too powerful which is what was causing armageddon in the first place. The whole point of the quest was to either kill everyone or take away their powers so the realms could stabilise so any ending that doesn't accomplish this would just lead to armageddon anyways at some point.
@@genericwhitemale9566 You say that but really the only ending that brings about Armageddon is Blaze's. Hell, even Shao Kahn's ending doesn't really result in Armageddon like MK9 implied, it just resulted in him conquering the realms and losing his mind when he ran out of realms. I suppose you could argue Armageddon would happen eventually but it takes so long for that to happen that the Elder Gods probably could have come up with a plan B somehow. Don't say they couldn't! So they would use their powers to create a portal to take him to The original mortal kombat and would tell him To train and help the heroes.
it is insane that shao khan had managed to win armageddon not only did he manage to defeat the forces of light but he managed to beat eveyr single villain includign somehow defeating onaga and had managed to gain godhood still a shame we didn't get a tavern only timeline but assuming he is clueless most of the time i think it is probably for the best that NRS do a reboot and then reboot the reboot.
1:15 I used to just skip this cutscene straight into the fight just because it's funnier like that lol. Right before Daegon trips Taven, just press A and the fight will start xD
I like to believe that this is the original mk Timeline and that somewhere there is a Titan Taven that defeated Blaze. The timeline from the events from mk9 to 1 would be an alternative timeline.
The swords thing never made sense at all. Daegon uses two with the implication that one was meant for each brother. but when Taven picks his sword off of Daegon's body, it's an entirely new sword, and yet it's the same one he'd been using the whole game anyway.
i'd like for the new timeline to avoid completely the shinnok invasion, give us a game focused on chaosreal, orderrealm and edenia and then the taven/daegon/blaze storyline
LOL, only difference is that Shujinko was naived and got played like a damn fiddle while Taven was doubting about his quest to save the universe of MK.
I can say that I was looking forward to the MK game after this, to see what this "third" outcome was. Taven wasn't the GREATEST MK hero but he was better than Shujinko and I was willing to check out it out. The Konquest portion of MK Armageddon and the Kreate-A-Fighter were fun enough. I was happy with it. The new reboot has been one disappointment after another. I'm sure newer fans are enjoying this, but for those of us OLDER types that were with MK from the beginning (I'm 39), this was the last real fun game of MK.
The "third" outcome was revealed in his arcade ending. Basically if you win the tower mode or arcade mode with Taven the wording is slightly different. What happened was that because of Blaze's earlier capture by Onaga's holy men it corrupted his design a little bit and caused all the kombatants to get an increase to their powers. So, the hypthetical next game would've had all the kharacters even stronger than they were previously.
@@HyakuSh1ki As I said, a disappointment. Certain characters seemed just randomly put in, entire storylines and character attitudes were changed in ways that I don't feel the "Raiden has visions of future" could account enough for. Inconsistent power scaling, not much of a TOURNAMENT for three... just very random. Reptile was basically a background character and I don't even LIKE him, Noob was ragdolled by EVERYONE, Sindel one-shot's tons of people but then battles Nightwolf...just... I'm sorry, awful. Costumes, fighting system, graphics, stages? Gorgeous. Story, voice-acting, dialogue, story? ....I'm sorry. I never got the enjoyment of it that I'm sure you did.
Now y don't they write a movie of if Armageddon's ending were canon? After Taven obtains full godhood, he eventually finds a way 2 stave off Armageddon an' save da realms... Based on some endings, if Daegon's is any 2 go by, their parents r alive an' well and Daegon's soul is sent 2 da deepest level of torment... yeah!
This game went by too fast and you can’t really enjoy the scenery because your like always timed with everything which can be annoying. Deception’s konquest was much better
"Blaze? Why are you here?" "There were oversights when we made Konquest mode so now it doesn't really make sense for you guys to fight here, we're gunna go to the place where you guys are fighting in all the promotional material."
In other words. Taven lost his family his dragon guardian because of this Quest. And Shao Khan beat him.For some reason Shao Kahn could defeat Onaga and Taven.
Gotta love how this was the Conquest mode which tells the Canon tale of events but somehow this Conquest mode was another non canon ending essentially everything you do as Tavan is fanfiction cause somehow with blaze teleporting Tavan to the top of the pyramid in the ending and him winning somehow didn't happen and Shao Khan got the prize....which I found hilarious because in the opening you see his ass carried off and away by Onaga and im like WTF in mk9 how did he win....how did he win against Onaga with poison? How did he get back to the pyramid and to the top before Tavan? Bruh the amount of BS retcons in MK9 made it almost unplayable for me....but that Human Smoke pulled me back...just like MK1 is doing to me!
i think the writers/directors on Twitter claimed that Armageddon's conquest mode ending was canon, but then Shao Kahn was able to kill Onaga and Taven off-screen to acquire Blaze's power
I don’t understand why they didn’t just continue after Armageddon? Mk9 was a great game, I wish it was a spin off game, like Shaolin Monks. MKX was alright, and MK11 was just bad with some great qualities. But I’d much rather see who would help Taven prevent Armageddon, and those who would careless and seek out what’s best for them. The whole timeline, character sexuality, and traveling to multiverses has become the kisses of death for any franchise that exposes their content to it.
I agree with pretty much everything except for that "character sexuality" part. not trying to be rude or misrepresent your argument but are you implying what I think you are implying, or have I misunderstood that part?
@@Dreamcatcher_2001 I’m implying that a game like Mortal Kombat, doesn’t need to go out of its way to tell us what the sexuality is of a character (Kung Jin, Mileena, and Tanya) Quite frankly it’s ruined the games dark and edgy tone, and has now adopted the “culture” for those who discriminate against others who don’t cater to them and their agenda of spreading “sexuality awareness” I think at this day an age, we’ve all been aware of it for some time now. Point being is, Mortal Kombat is a fighting game that had built a reputation on its gritty and sinister theme, mainly focusing on who is the most deadliest, and bad*** of them all, and in my opinion that’s all gone now, partly because of sexuality being a selling point in the gaming industry.
@@andrewanderson3163 How to say you're homophobic and a bigot without saying it directly... Sexuality has been a selling point in games A LOT Longer than this... Lara Croft for example on the original PS1 was a sex symbol... commercials for SNES games and Sega games had half naked women in them all the time... you are just coming off real angry that other people are just wanting to be seen and including in an industry that mostly accepts them, and your doing it on a game franchise that literally has shoved johnny/sonya (having a child in fact) & kitana/liu into the main plot line for YEARS. I mean Sonya is quite literally wearing her thong straps OUTSIDE and above her pants while being a part of the military... and you think there being a brief moment of dialog of Kung Jin being gay and Mileena/Tanya in an ending being a thing in 1 game is disrupting the industry...
@@andrewanderson3163 they didn't "go out of their way" or shove it in your face, the characters are just gay, that's it. I saw mileenas ending, it was literally just her and Tanya together with a baby, if you don't like it then that's a *you* problem, not the sexuality. Edit: also love the cope when mentioned "culture" and "agenda" while playing the victim, very pathetic.
@@Dreamcatcher_2001 I’m surprised he didn’t say “woke” so he could complete his buzzword bingo. I’m so tired of the “conservative reactionary” fad I can’t wait for these nerds to move on to something else.
I don't think Kahn defeated Onaga. In the intro to MK Armageddon you see Onaga grab Kahn and fly off with him far off into the distance. But in MK Deception Kahn states he can clone himself and did so to avoid being killed Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. I think Onaga flew off with Kahn's clone and the real Kahn made it to the top of the pyramid and defeated Blaze.
This is literally one of the most useless story lines of all, literally his entire quest did nothing, and Shao Kanh ended up winning anyway and causing Armageddon.
see this is when you are talking out of your ass. you see he did indeed complete the quest but devs decided he wasnt as loved as someone like shoa khan so they switched it to him and reboot everything there is your lesson for today dummy
@@FreshPrincex4"Hot mess" seriously? Compared to the Mk11 story, this one is good and more consistent. Mk11 consists of retcons, villains coming out of nowhere, inconsistencies between previous games, time travels, and the good guys winning 97% of the fights.
@@riddlerwillison3336 Armageddon's whole konquest mode was all for nothing seeing what happened afterwards Mk 11 despite its faults atleast wrapped up everything.
Not exactly. Taven's ending is the canon, because when he defeated Blaze, part of Blaze's energy was sent to the survivors fighthers, and the rest made Taven a god. But, Blaze essence was corrupted for years, and the energy in the fighters increase their powers insted of downgrading. So, Shao Kahn and Raiden survived and fight after all this. Raiden was fighting before againts Shinok, and was a hard battle, and face Shao Kahn after this prove to be overwhelming... even for a corrupted thunder god. The question is: why Taven didn't help Raiden? Well, they fight before, and Taven saw that Raiden was a corrupted and fallen Elder God, that made a alliance with Kahn, Onaga, Shang Sung and Quan Chi in the room of the emperor of outworld. So, seems that Taven had no reason to help Dark Raiden.
@@VictorOguroteven so from what we saw in MK 9 every kombatant was dead and only raiden and shinnok were alive if this energy infused the kombatants I’m sure the ones that had died would have been brought back to life with more power also MK 9’s retcon still makes no sense they can’t prevent Armageddon they should have just continued the story after Armageddon instead of trying to retcon it now we have new mortal kombat game with a new timeline
@@adrianrocha6844 , I understand your point, but I don't think that the kombatants could back to life, because Blaze's essence was corrupted as we saw. This is just what I think, and I could be wrong.

So they would use their powers to create a portal to take him to The original mortal kombat and would tell him To train and help the heroes.
Taylor :D
Taylor thats my favorite MK character ;D
it is insane that shao khan had managed to win armageddon not only did he manage to defeat the forces of light but he managed to beat eveyr single villain includign somehow defeating onaga and had managed to gain godhood still a shame we didn't get a tavern only timeline but assuming he is clueless most of the time i think it is probably for the best that NRS do a reboot and then reboot the reboot.
Bruh ending
I didn't realize thst Taven killed Daegon in this fight. Huh interesting, I learned something today.
Taven somehow ends up losing to Shao Kahn off screen and Shao Kahn begins Armageddon lol
0:33-0:42 Sadly, the quest was all for nothing in the end since Shao Kahn took the power
1:15 I used to just skip this cutscene straight into the fight just because it's funnier like that lol. Right before Daegon trips Taven, just press A and the fight will start xD
I would hope Nether Realm studios creates an Armageddon Remake set in Liu Kang's timeline.
Thats kinda the route they're goin with MK1.
@@DonYoGi8331yeah.
Wait he’s dead I thought he was knocked out
Canonically he's dead, but he was playing dead in his arcade ending.
He didn't kill him?
He just beat him badly
i'd like for the new timeline to avoid completely the shinnok invasion, give us a game focused on chaosreal, orderrealm and edenia and then the taven/daegon/blaze storyline
Wow. There a some Great writing in here.
all of that story and still the canonical ending is Shao Kahn winning
no this game ending was canon actually until it got retconned years later but NRS
yeeah maybe in this discontinued timeline this is the ending while the new timeline they came up with which is BS is the Shao Kahn one
@@marzialalfonzocanada888 It definitely is bs
It was not intended that the brothers kombat each other... It was your parent's design that one of you wins... What?
Taven 🤝 Shujinko
Being the biggest dumbasses in MK history.
Lmao
Lol correct
Usually the main characters are the dumbest characters
In Taven defense, He just wake up and doesn't what's happened in the world
And Shujinko case, he was gaslighted for his entire life
LOL, only difference is that Shujinko was naived and got played like a damn fiddle while Taven was doubting about his quest to save the universe of MK.
1:17
😂😂😂😂😂
Same like sasuke vs itachi
uk...since mk9 i realized that shao kahn musta killed taven cause he wasnt even mentioned in the intro to 9 was just raiden resetting shit
And then theres the existence of Rain, making it so that everyone got stronger lmao
Smartest man in games
They need bring back blaze mk 1 2023
Después en MK 9 Shao Khan termino apoderándose del poder de blaze hubiera sido bueno saber que paso con Taven
That's a Different timeline from Midway Timeline in some way. Taven in the Dark Raiden Flashback isn't wearing his Armor
Hopefully, they cameos in the upcoming MK1.
Best bros
Watching this just proves how crap Mortal Kombat 9 storyline is as Shao Kahn never won Amageddon.
Scary hearing my nane in MK
Speak for your self dude. I'm an older fan only slightly younger than you, but saying Armageddon was the last fun game of the series is non sense.
@@xaerofour1137 I stand by my statement.
I'm curious, what did you think of MK9?
Taven was truly noble for completing his family task 😢 . I hope he comes back to MK .
he and daegon came back for both new timelines after armageddon but as unimportant background characters saddly
1:14
So it was all for nothing
Now y don't they write a movie of if Armageddon's ending were canon? After Taven obtains full godhood, he eventually finds a way 2 stave off Armageddon an' save da realms... Based on some endings, if Daegon's is any 2 go by, their parents r alive an' well and Daegon's soul is sent 2 da deepest level of torment... yeah!
This game went by too fast and you can’t really enjoy the scenery because your like always timed with everything which can be annoying. Deception’s konquest was much better
And then unfortunately Taven still loses as the power from his armor made Shao Kaun even stronger :/
"Blaze? Why are you here?"
"There were oversights when we made Konquest mode so now it doesn't really make sense for you guys to fight here, we're gunna go to the place where you guys are fighting in all the promotional material."
In other words. Taven lost his family his dragon guardian because of this Quest. And Shao Khan beat him.For some reason Shao Kahn could defeat Onaga and Taven.
Daegon is just Kratos
Only in design really
@@codafettyeah.
... And then Shao Khan happened.

So you’re telling me that this game wasn’t a fuck up but MK9 was? The game that was created bc of this terrible story? 💀💀💀
So shao Khan defeats taven
Shao Kahn: You Suck...
All these years, and the brothers still look generic AF
Why cant NRS's MK stories be as cool as the Midway era's?
This is... Cool?
@@Naija_Ninjayes
@@MotherLover1984no..lol this was NOT cool
Now if this was Deception? Atleast that was decent
2006: Until at last....
2011: Shao Khan managed to defeat onaga and blaze
I don't think Kahn defeated Onaga. In the intro to MK Armageddon you see Onaga grab Kahn and fly off with him far off into the distance. But in MK Deception Kahn states he can clone himself and did so to avoid being killed Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. I think Onaga flew off with Kahn's clone and the real Kahn made it to the top of the pyramid and defeated Blaze.
This is literally one of the most useless story lines of all, literally his entire quest did nothing, and Shao Kanh ended up winning anyway and causing Armageddon.
Well
It's tragic.
see this is when you are talking out of your ass. you see he did indeed complete the quest but devs decided he wasnt as loved as someone like shoa khan so they switched it to him and reboot everything
there is your lesson for today dummy
This looks like a bad MK fanfic. Taven is the original Cole Young.
Still better than MK11's storyline.
@@darkside9547hell no, lol

@@FreshPrincex4disagree.
@@FreshPrincex4"Hot mess" seriously? Compared to the Mk11 story, this one is good and more consistent.
Mk11 consists of retcons, villains coming out of nowhere, inconsistencies between previous games, time travels, and the good guys winning 97% of the fights.

@@destruction9544neither game Is bad lol
Hell if anything
They both played big parts in the franchise
This is the final story in ps2 but it wasn't the new Mortal Kombat 9 it already began because Lord Raiden survived.
@@VictorOgurot 🤔
@@VictorOguroteven so from what we saw in MK 9 every kombatant was dead and only raiden and shinnok were alive if this energy infused the kombatants I’m sure the ones that had died would have been brought back to life with more power also MK 9’s retcon still makes no sense they can’t prevent Armageddon they should have just continued the story after Armageddon instead of trying to retcon it now we have new mortal kombat game with a new timeline
@@adrianrocha6844 , I understand your point, but I don't think that the kombatants could back to life, because Blaze's essence was corrupted as we saw. The new time line could prevent the Armageddon caused by Blaze corruption and Shao Kahn, but still possible to happen another Amageddon made by other facts. This is just what I think, and I could be wrong.
@@VictorOgurotactually I like this tbh bc Taven kept saying he didn’t care about the quest so him leaving after slaying blaze makes sense he seemed only to care about killing his brother after he found out all he had did and I doubt he would help any of the remaining fighters
