    Why are Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring on that thumbnail??? Their companies have shown AAA companies how is done as well, they should be put in the same team as PalWorld. These are all ''Not AAA companies'' That have been redefining modern the gaming industry in my opinion. Also as a Pokemon fan PalWorld Rocks and Im wish them the best hoping they won't let it all get to their heads and blow it. They have captured lightning in a bottle by doing what Nintendo won't or hasn't after years of ignoring its fandom =:3

      The thumb just represents how pal is beating even those games on the steam concurrent player charts. Of course I don't think its better than elden or the others but the fact that an indy dev with an EA game beat them on player size is nuts. It shows what opportunity Nintendo is fumbling. Thats all

    i 100% agree. i stopped playing COD after BO2. bc it was just the SAME thing over and over. i’ve only played 2 assassins creeds bc it’s all the same. palworld is a fresh new game and the first game in a long time (besides rocket league) that ive been able to spend hours playing.

      @KirkTheStampede  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Alot of Indy games have been really hitting the mark. Enshrouded and palworld are 2 recent examples. Valheim and battlebit did it also. Give ppl what they want and they will play it. Fromsoft with Elden Ring and even Nintendo with the last 2 Zeldas. Some devs/companies still get it. Not to mention BG3

    they won't and probably don't want to make a game like palworld.
    They work for nintendo, so they have to be kid friendly. Not only that but the guy who made pokemon, even posted something on his facebook a while back something along the lines of "every time I read the suggestions you all have, i take it to the team and we all laugh at you" (like mixing gens in one game and general ideas that pokemon fans have for a new game)
    I also personally believe they don't even have to try, theyre such a big company and it seems they're complicit in giving us the same stale game with a higher price tag every few years / new console. Because they know they're gonna make money regardless.
    Thats the problem with big game , nowadays and big anything, music, hollywood, can make massive bank off of little effort or passion at the expense of the consumer

    • @KirkTheStampede
      @KirkTheStampede  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I couldn't have said it better myself. The big have to fall hard i guess but its a looooong way down for Pokémon. They could easily just take the guns and violence/sweatshop mechanics out and it would be to their kid friendly standard. I think it would still be fun. Just add some extra Pokémon style game mechanics and it would be a fantastic game. It might never come around but we can dream 🤷‍♂️
      I think we as consumers a partly to blame. Pokémon co and others don't have to try because we keep buying and keep hoping. Fool me once and all of that. Now we have an alternative so maybe people will start voting with their wallets now.

    The interesting thing about the gaming industry lately is the moment the usual suspects try to rally against a game, it does incredibly well. Happened with Hogwarts Legacy and the anti-Rowling crowd. Happened with Baldur's Gate 3 and the industry itself. And it happened again with Palworld with the Peta crowd. Honestly they are like a games best advertisement lately.

    Honestly, Pokémon has been trying other genres. They brought back Snap, they have a fighting game, the League of Legends looking one, etc. Problem is that they play it so safe that the games come out looking and feeling boring. Too worried about backlash and their ESG scores to make a game for the fans, instead of what is PC and safe to do to no get canceled. Which is understandable with a huge Corporation, but you have to risk it for the biscuit.

    • @KirkTheStampede
      @KirkTheStampede  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thats probably why they haven't made a good game... they got all the devs split up making copygenre games to see what makes money 🤣

    "...even if they did, they made a fun game, isn't that why we buy games?" Like, for real, if you used some type of generative AI and came out with an absolute banger of a game, I'd still buy it. It still takes work to get those results, it isn't just a 5-minute deal of typing some prompt and it has now magically programmed, designed, tested, tweaked, and polished a full 3D game to play. Plus, $30 is an easier pill to swallow for something this caliber than say $60-70, but I know there are multiple reasons for the higher pricing on other games, etc, not here to break that down; it's just nice to see a lower tag on a quality (even in EA and active development). Here's to hoping we will see some nice QoL updates over the next few months with all the feedback from users.

    I really do think TPC and GF are the issue. Let nintendo develop the game, get their developers on it and you have an amazing game. GF obviously want to develop it, and them having a share in TPC means they probably have enough sway to make it so. Its proving that it isnt working and they probably need to give the ghost up, or let nintendo lead it and they can be the supporting role.
    I hate to be mean about it but with the budget of TPC you have to wonder what the problem is.. it cant be nintendo they can make amazing games, Creatures? Dont even know what they do, so that leaves GF, what have they made that was good? I am not saying its the developers, but the company as a whole, they need to give it up and let someone else develop a pokemon game, they can just rake in the royalties

    • @KirkTheStampede
      @KirkTheStampede  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they just got comfortable thinking they would make handheld games forever that have a naturally lower bar. But now the switch has console potential and expectations. I think they just realized that they actually have to develop a game again and are flailing wildly. Most of this is usually the higher ups imo but it could be everyone at this point.

    Pokemon could´ve easily released a single region like Kanto or Johto, remade the region into an openworld, and just do whatever from there. Make all 150-250 available, make them all usable and ridable and just have fun with it. The best they could do was Legends Arceus, and while it was fun compared to the rest of the Pokemon game, it was still extremely lacking, way too easy.
