I'm reading Adam Nicolson's ‘Sea Room’ - his book about the islands that he inherited from his father. Yours was the first film that came up when I searched on YT. Beautiful little travelogue that has brought alive what he's been describing in his book.

I love that book so much. I still haven't read it all the way through because the writing is so beautiful I have to just stop to emerse myself in my vicarious experience of the islands and I read the same passages over and over. One day I might finish the book but I'm not in a hurry.

Superb pictures. I lived on the West coast of Scotland.. the Shiants were always "over there" just over the horizon. Thanks for showing them here in such detail. So the midges also got the Shiants in their grip eh? Them bloodsuckers I will never miss.

What do you hope your excellent films will be able to bring in terms of messaging about ecology, sustainable living and caring about our environment?

Our family is not perfect, but we have made certain life choices based on the priorities we hold dear. My aim is to simply document our low budget alternative life, our adventures, our encounters with wildlife and my passion for nature conservation.
My hope is that a few people may be inspired enough to slow down, to live more simply and more ecologically, to get outdoors into nature and open their eyes....both to nature’s beauty and to the impact our lives are having on the environment.

Ok I know I know! but could you try just your narration? no piped Musak? Your filming is very good and your own voice is fine but again I turned the sound off because of the noise!! Ok I have mentioned this before and understand your situation re continuity and sound. But I enjoy the film with your voice commentary. but even the bbc etc now have an orchestra every where they film. must be a throwback to the day's of Silent?? Films 594 views /109 likes?? I still liked !
