Hey crew, I've watched a couple of your vids and really like the style. I went back to vids 1 & 2 and can see a massive improvement. One thing you might want to be careful of though is colour rendition. In your first vids, I felt colour interpretation was very accurate, however, in the later vids, I feel you are falling into the trap of the average youtuber, and that is oversaturation of your colours. Of course it's a personal choice, however, if your wish is to convey an accurate interpretation of what you see, without sugar coating, or hyping it up, colour is key. Yes, it doesn't "pop" to the same degree, but.... anyone that follows in your footsteps, based upon the fact that you've influenced them through your narrative, wont be disappointed, due to your accurate recording. In my humble opinion, if one is shooting a cinematic production, it gives one a licence to manipulate colour to suit one's project, however, when shooting a Documentary style narrative, one has a degree of responsibility to portray truthful and accurate images. My personal opinion only, but food for thought. The reason I mention this is because I suspect Jasmine does the majority of the filming, and given her age, she has an innate eye for composition and detail. I suspect she could make a career of film making if she were interested, but the recording will need to be accurately white balanced and correctly exposed. I'd like to make some constructive comments on some other stuff as well, but first would like to know if you're interested and what gear you're using to record and edit. If you're interested, drop me a reply. One quick thing though, when you use Google Earth / Maps, make sure you pop a small title, similar to your "Free Spirit" log in the lower right hand corner, on the screen crediting Google. Failure to do so may lead to legal issues in future if the channel grows. Copyrighting can become a huge issue. Have a read up on it. Keep up the good work and style, it's a refreshing change from the faux drama of 99% of sailing you tubers. Cheers. Al.
