A friend of mine made one like yours . The only difference is that he took the short screws out of the door hinges and installed longer ones to support the weight better.
Thanks for watching. I actually used a combination of interior acrylic paint, semi gloss. And I also used a can of Krylon white semi gloss spray paint to get into some of the tight areas. Good luck.
I have a similar rack and want to put some small to medium canned goods in it. Will that make a solid core (MDF) door too heavy? I am using 3 solid brass ball bearing butt hinges.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas Thanks. I got a couple extra interior doors from an update I did a couple years ago. I think I am going to TRY it and see if the spice rack can actually kinda reinforce the door. I'm thinking I will make the rack as you did but add a long support bar the depth & width of the door attached to both sides at the bottom; so when I build up it add as a shelf and distributes the weight of the rack - Door hangers at the top and the bar at the bottom, (Probably use some 4'' screws from outside the door to screw into the bar. If it works I'll share. If Not.. Oh well... thanks for the idea :-) :-).
Hello Karen, not sure you could afford me. LOL. I don’t have the time. Sorry. There is some step by step videos out on you tube if you or a friend wants to try and build it.

It’s seems like there is never enough storage and cabinet space in the kitchen. Nice job on the spice rack!
Thanks. Happy wife, Happy Life. 😀
@@HeritageFarmsTexas That is correct.
Looks Good. You can't have to much sstorage space
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks. It was a small fun project.
Did you only anchor it to the door at the top? Nowhere else on the shelf, like midway or at the bottom?
Top and bottom. Four anchors. Hollow door anchor.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas thank you!
Which paint did you use ? And how many coats ?

I love it can I swipe that idea? Happy Thanksgiving!
Absolutely. Happy Thanksgiving DJ! We love it so far.

Hello, I’m no expert, but I would think if you have the proper door anchors it might. I wouldn’t want kids slamming the door LOL.
How is it holding up? Was the 3 anchors enough to hold it to the door?
Thanks for watching. It’s doing great so far.
Does anyone have any idea what would happen if I actually cut into this type of door to sink the depth a little more??
Thanks for watching. Not sure what would happen. I’m guessing the door would lose structural integrity.

@@HeritageFarmsTexas 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you!
Great design. Didnt need to do that cut out. Just buy a simple one sided door knob. Done.
Great tip!
