You are an extremely good wood worker with excellent detailing and a fine finish to your pieces. It was a joy to watch you make this and learn so much from your skills. The small details like the peg holes being inset a bit more in the back, was much appreciated. Please use a push stick, I was cringing with your hand so close to that blade, ouch. You have beautiful hands, don't chop them off. 7:15 - Use an old Yoga mat on the dining table for good grip and no scratches. Goodwill or Ross or TJ Maxx has cheap prices. They make excellent padding for anything in your garage as well. Plenty of free ones too. The corner angles were not explained. I think they were meant for both hanging the piece on the wall and also for reinforcement and bracing. This turned out so well, wow! For those that need a shortcut, IKEA sells $4 spice racks, and all you have to do is build a frame like this one, with adjustable peg holes. The IKEA BEKVAM racks are 16" wide, 3.5" high, and 4" deep. The RAJTAM jars are $1 each and fit 6 to a shelf. They have other types of jars that fit as well. For my RV spice rack project, these measurements will work, so I have to only build the frame. I have a lot of these shelves in stock. The annoyance of the IKEA spice racks is you have to mount two screws spaced apart and level. Invariably, they are off by mm and don't fit. The best way is to screw the spice racks to a board from behind and make a tower out of it. Hang that up on a door, wall or give it legs or wheels. Solves the problem. Long nails? I knew they were for your guitar since its on the right hand and left thumb only. Here is how you keep your nails strong: Gelatin from unflavored Knox packs, seaweed (toss dried seaweed in anything you cook), bone broth, and chew the overcooked ends of chicken bones. Also take MSM powder 1/3 tsp in water 2 x day along with same amount of potassium, magnesium, Vit C. Buy these powders in bulk from Amazon. Cheaper than tablets. Be sure to also take Vit D3 5000 - 10,000 IU every night. This will build bone, keratin, and cartilage for strong nails. MSM also gives you great skin and shiny strong hair, and is an anti inflammatory for muscles. Take all these for life, as they help your body in many ways.
Put a peace of wood 2 by watt ever you have on hand clamp it to your fence a couple of inches in front of your blade (before the blade contact the wood you are ripping), reference the length you need from this block. With this set up you will never have any kick back and never place your hands in the red zone near the blade
Nice design, I'm going to build one of these. I have one criticism though. You should NEVER do a cross cut using your fence as a guide. If the piece between the blade and the fence hangs up on anything and starts to twist it can throw the piece back at you and, since you also like to ignore another safety rule about standing directly behind the saw blade it's going to get really painful. Stop standing behind the blade and use some other way to set up a block for setting the length of your cut. It's only a matter of time before you will learn this lesson the hard way. I speak from experience.
Yes! I'm glad you mentioned this! I did it in a pinch as I didn't have access to my chop saw, but I wouldn't recommend for someone who has just been getting started with woodworking! I sometimes do some risky things and it is good to have the reminder from people who have had it bad. Sorry for the bad example 😂
Early in my hobby of woodworking, I did just that. I still have a scar above my lip from where the wood hit me very forcefully! Never, ever did I do that again. Safety first, always.

Great video! Thanks for posting. Looks nice! But as a guitarist to another I beg you to take the proper safety precautions. You'd be devastated if you cut one finger even slightly, let alone all four... jus' sayin'....
@@lynettewall3542 ah yes... 3/4" in from the front side and 1" in from the back side. That way if the shelf gets bumped or pulled out a little it wont come crashing down because the back side pegs are farther toward the front end rather than being an even measurement
I can tell you from experience, please keep your hand and fingers away from that blade, pushsticks are your friends. I was also going to make a comment about using your fence as stop when crosscutting, but some other mentors covered it.

What are your measurements for you peg hole placement?
I did them every inch, measuring from each side of the middle fixed shelf.
