I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my TH-cam recommendations for over a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation" and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera. I just came across your channel, and like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, his delivery, as well as his stage presence. Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. From what I gathered, he started singing and piano lessons at the age of five and was found to have perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master’s class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with Honours, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career. His range is about 7 octaves now but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums.

As I see it right now, Dimash is the best voice currently on Earth. I've been watching a lot of his reaction videos for a few years now and have seen reactions **exactly like yours** from people all over the world -- stunned, shocked, speechless, awestruck, ecstatic, even crying (like the guy in the audience in this video), you name it, every reaction possible to a talent and skill very nearly beyond belief. Check out Ogni Pietra, Across Endless Dimensions, Screaming, Adagio and Sinful Passion in any order, whether you formally react or just watch. Dimash, singing here in 2017 in French, is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. He started singing lessons at 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just (18th June 2020) completed his Masters specialising in Composition, and receiving his Masters degree with Honours, having achieved the maximum score of 100% and has now started his PhD. His range is over 6 octaves (almost 7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. In this performance, he was 22 and in a competition for famous professional singers (not a talent show) in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to worldwide stardom and became a pop superstar in China. He is also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic, but he has now introduced pop songs there too. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register and has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He was on a solo world tour and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album ( platinum in 37 seconds, triple platinum in under an hour) and a new album will be released soon. It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others around the world including South America. He is multi talented singing every genre from opera to rap. He composes, plays seven instruments, dances , directs, models etc. Sings in 12. His lower range was good when he was 22, but now, at 26 it's already a gorgeous, resonant baritone. He was offered a position with Astana Opera, but his passion is cross over singing. He did a duet with Aida Garifullina (a soprano associated with the Vienna opera) and the rehearsals went very long, and she needed to leave before it was done. It was reported that she jokingly told him as she left "you can sing my part too, if you want..." If you want to hear that performance - with Dimash in baritone voice - check out Ulysses. It may change your mind about opera. Or ... not. But you'll have had the chance to check out a very special performance.

Dimash is able to mix all musical genre's and at the same time sing any part. He has a God given talent which we are all very privileged to listen to, he is a rare talent and we are blessed to experience it in our lifetime.

To answer your question of how, he was blessed with the vocal cords that allow him to sing an enormous range, but that would be useless without training. His parents are heavily involved in music and he started singing and piano lessons around age 5. He has literally been training that voice for over 20 years. With all of that, he also has an interest in a wide variety of styles as well, so he mixes them at times. His range combined with his mastery of technique, training and dynamic control allow him to do things most other singers can't even come close to in their own range and style. It's always amazing to watch. :-)
The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Classically trained vocally beginning at age 5 and was still in training here at age 22. He will be 27 in a couple of weeks, May 24th. I have said many times in the past 3 years his singing technique and control opens the door to your soul, takes hold, massages it, and transforms your being. I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my TH-cam recommendations for over a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation" and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera. I just came across your channel, and like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, his delivery, as well as his stage presence.
Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance.
From what I gathered, he started singing and piano lessons at the age of five and was found to have perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master’s class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with Honours, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career.
His range is about 7 octaves now but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums.

A little tip, never react to anything from a show called The Worlds Best, It is despised by Dimash's fans (who are called Dears) because of the way they lied to him and treated him. Tom, thanks for your enthusiastic reaction, and welcome to Dimash World. A friend pointed me at a woman who may've had this caliber of voice about 70 years ago. As I see it right now, Dimash is the best voice currently on Earth. I've been watching a lot of his reaction videos for a few years now and have seen reactions **exactly like yours** from people all over the world -- stunned, shocked, speechless, awestruck, ecstatic, even crying (like the guy in the audience in this video), you name it, every reaction possible to a talent and skill very nearly beyond belief.

His range is over 6 octaves (almost 7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it.
In this performance, he was 22 and in a competition for famous professional singers (not a talent show) in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to worldwide stardom and became a pop superstar in China. He is also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic, but he has now introduced pop songs there too. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register and has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He was on a solo world tour and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album ( platinum in 37 seconds, triple platinum in under an hour) and a new album will be released soon.
It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others around the world including South America. Я тоже кроме Димаша почти никого не слушаю и вообще считаю, что его голос- лучшее что я слышала в своей жизни. His lower range was good when he was 22, but now, at 26 it's already a gorgeous, resonant baritone. He was offered a position with Astana Opera, but his passion is cross over singing. He did a duet with Aida Garifullina (a soprano associated with the Vienna opera) and the rehearsals went very long, and she needed to leave before it was done. It was reported that she jokingly told him as she left "you can sing my part too, if you want..." If you want to hear that performance - with Dimash in baritone voice - check out Ulysses. It may change your mind about opera. Or ... not. But you'll have had the chance to check out a very special performance.

To answer your question of how, he was blessed with the vocal cords that allow him to sing an enormous range, but that would be useless without training. His parents are heavily involved in music and he started singing and piano lessons around age 5. He has literally been training that voice for over 20 years. With all of that, he also has an interest in a wide variety of styles as well, so he mixes them at times. His range combined with his mastery of technique, training and dynamic control allow him to do things most other singers can't even come close to in their own range and style. It's always amazing to watch. :-)

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash.
