    I found the case studies to be really helpful.

    Thank God, doing right with my 4 month old puppy ... now I know I am giving him protection and allowing my puppy exposure as well.

    I think my 7 month lab will be in his pen for a while in living room. He didn't use the crate inside of it so I removed that so he'd have more room and be safe. So far he seems to love it. I have a cheaper washable rug under it and his blanket. I invested in the higher 36 inch one. My lab still wants to chew wood or other things so I can't leave him on a "hope he'll be ok". Maybe when he calms down more and shows more compliance. I like one of the gates you have linked for my kitchen. I feel the living room, will one day be his first freedom room I turned our kitchen pail around thinking he'd be stumped. Worked for 3 days while in there, then I saw him go to the side and then push it a bit to get to front. Smart in a devious way. lol Thanks for all the tips. I use many.

      I have a 5month old lab and in this same position. How’s he doing now??

      @@nicoleh5884 still in pen but not all day since husband is retired. He doesn’t chew as much but if gone for more than 20 min I want to know he can’t reach something. ( got my hairbrush the other day) 😊 The pen is large so he’s not cramped and he has blankets ,water and a safe chew. He’s 1 1/2 so we are starting to extend time in living room alone. I bought a. Blink camera also. As my husband said after 4 dogs “ you can’t forget they are opportunists” adorable , sweet but sneaky lol check make sure things are safe that aren’t good for him. Good luck! It gets better

    Okay cool, glad I’m not doing damage by keeping my puppy in her crate when she’s tired instead of letting her roam and plop down trying to find a good place to laydown

    Great video as always. I recently moved Cooper to sleeping in my room but then realized he wasn't quite ready so he's back to sleeping in his crate. After a few nights of protest he's doing fine although I can see him wondering why he can't sleep on the bed or the sofa? 🤣🤣

      Thanks for sharing this, Jackie! Kudos to you for paying attention to Cooper's response to the change. Soon enough, Cooper! Soon enough.

      A great resource of ours to start with would be the Better Puppy Behavior Workshop. It is free and offers some helpful information on understanding your pup's behavior. Here is the link: howtotrainadreamdog.com/BPBWorkshop

    I got a puppy today!! Been planning it for three years so I’m beyond excited. He cries almost constantly though, even just walking around the backyard with me. Is this normal?

    • @HowToTrainADreamDog
      @HowToTrainADreamDog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no, so sorry to hear that. Yes, it's normal for our pups to arrive home and be overwhelmed and scared. Have you watched Surviving the !st 24 hours? th-cam.com/video/PHkehb6dSqw/w-d-xo.html

      @@HowToTrainADreamDog I had but I just rewatched it and learned some new helpful things 👍🏻 He’s doing fantastic with everything except the whining. He freaks out in the pen. Does okay with the crate though. Trying to remind myself it’s only been a day I have lots of time to work on it haha
