its a good thing to hear an engine sound..no one wants to feel like they are sitting in a library while they are driving a car. big engines should be heard
Had to laugh my A$$ off when he mentioned the Jeeps reliability, because Range Rovers and Jags have always been the worst. In fact, even the last few BMW's I've had have been horrible. Haven't had any problems with my Jeep. Guess I'm lucky.
Exactly. I've had 2 BMWs and they were money pits. I've had my GC for years and very few problems.
Our friend forgot to mentioned the off road capabilities of the JGC. Big difference compared to competitors. When the road or the weather conditions get tough, you are grateful to go aboard the Grand Cherokee. That's a fact.
Had mine for 3 months and love it. Comfy, powerful with a big 3.0 V6 + an 8 speed auto box and what ever What Car says it is silent at motorway speeds. Really looks the part and has loads of toys. I paid £34500 for a pre registered Limited Plus with 20 miles on the clock. Compare that to the price of its rivals! Saw a Range Rover Sport (£60000) parked next to it the other day and had a chance to compare them side by side and for me, the Jeep can hold its own. Just as big and imposing as the Range. Ok, interior quality is not as good but still looks fantastic. An absolute bargain.
The 6.4 Hemi is just what the doctor ordered.
Reviewing a jeep only on paved road and comparing to SUVs that only do well on paved road. How about taking Jeep off-road as it's meant to be and then comparing it with a BMW X5. You would see where the jeep's strong points are.
I quite like the look of it. Certainly would stand out in a sea of Land Rovers, Beemers and Audis.
It looks so much better than its rivals
Here in the US, the JGC is a mainstream SUV that actually competes with the other mainstream mid-sized crossovers that are WAY cheaper than BMW, Audi, and Land Rover SUVs, which this Jeep also happens to compete with. In my opinion, I think it's in a class of its own. It's not as luxurious as its European rivals, yet nicer than its mainstream rivals. It is a serious off-road vehicle itself, which its mainstream and luxurious European competitors (besides Land Rover) aren't. I have had a 2013 JGC Trailhawk 5.7 Hemi for a full year now and been very happy with it. When you mash the throttle, the Hemi comes to life with a VERY loud roar sound in the interior and pretty powerful acceleration, but it's super quiet when you gently accelerate. It doesn't accelerate any faster than a V6 engined saloon/sedan because it's so heavy. On the Highway at 75 MPH or 120 KM/H, I get like 18 miles per US gallon. When driving in the city, its 13. That pretty bad lol. The 3.0 diesel tows just as much as the Hemi thanks to its massive 420 pound-feet of torque and uses WAY less fuel (30 more pound-feet and 10 more MPG than the Hemi), making the Hemi quite pointless now.
Did you have issues with the 5 speeds transmission?
Nope, and I hope not! So far it's been shifting nice and smoothly. It actually has a 6 speed, but it's basically another version of the 5 speed with different programming (I think). The electronics, and the air suspension have been running well, too.
***** Great to hear that. I actually have that transmission in my 06 charger and haven't got an issue except roughness in downshifts but it's nothing to give attention to. Still the transmission is tough after 8 years.
Im going to buy one, it looks so good i think better than its more expensive rivals.
I'm seriously considering a Grand Cherokee, has anyone had any bad experiences of them?
Bought myself one of these and I love it!!!
Beautiful 4×4, great for the money love it..
In the beginning was Jeep and then the rest, really like it and since Fiat took Chrysler i bet the engines are a massive improvement like the rest .
just got my jeep GC limited 2015. great ride with a twist of sporty ride. not a big fan of 7 sitter.
He's reviewing a Jeep but somehow he failed to mention the 4x4 capabilities and the fact that the Jeep can go off road and the X5 cannot.
The Coffee Field he didnt also mention the water bottle sized fuel tank 😂😂
No one off-roads these days.
@@Wholiganify speak for yourself. you probably live in the city
X5 CAN go offroad...
@@imeprezime1069 And never come back lol 😂
Is this the Laredo?
THIS BEATS THE BMW X5 ETC ANY DAY ...!
carlsbadtuber definitely
Why is the 6.4 available, and not the 3.6 or the 5.7? It just doesn’t make sense.
Where's the cd player?
Still love the look of this car. 👍
If jeep incorporated luxury materials they would be more expensive -_-_-_-_-
My boy forgot it’s a REAL 4X4
I’m just gonna assume he has soy milk in coffee
Almond😂😂😂
Had a 2014 Summit, superb, bought a 2018 GLE 350, can't wait to get rid of it and get another Summit, better for towing, off road and kit.
lol wtf. okay I really need to travel I tripped out seeing this guy drive on the opposite side of the street and passenger side.
Had mine just over a year now. Nice ride, eats up the miles. Love most things about it except the loss of the flipper glass, and the STUPID foot park brake. Hate that so much I nearly got something else.
V8 with Air suspension. I don't notice the V8 getting loud when accelerating, even up hill. It's almost too civilised as I like to hear my V8 lol... then again just put it in sport mode.. becomes a different beast and you certainly hear it when you put your foot down.
Suggested improvements. wood grain centre. restore the flipper glass in the rear door, and change that stupid foot park brake back to a hand brake or a button.
I believe he meant the diesel being noisy.
A foot park brake? wow! I thought a hand park brake was bad... In all seriousness: Car companies need to give us a fxcking hand brake lever!
Why is everyone so concerned with 7 seats? Whats wrong with 3 or less children and plenty of space for dogs or luggage??? Jeep are doing it totally right with this, while everyone else is trying to eat into the MPV market!
boss move, at the end with the tailgate
Is this model limited ?
Nope, its Summit
7 seater? not sure which rivals you are comparing it to cause bmw x5 is a 5 seater too
Biggest mistake Jeep made was choosing not to import the Pentastar V6 and the V8''s to the UK
look at cost of land rover and bmw purchase price, insurance, reliability, repairs, and maintenance costs. and resale depreciation before you even think of saying the jeep is somehow a lesser vehicle. europeans are so mesmerized by carbon fiber and leather and wood trim that everything just goes out the window
Don't tar all us europeans with the same brush! I live in the UK, got a fully loaded JGC Overland and absolutely love it. had it 2 years, faultless driving. Previous Mercedes was forever in the garage!! Love American vehicles!
@@leemetherell-bigmerv6848 have u still got it im looking to buy one
Good & strong 4 * 4.
Good review. I would never have one though, Land Rover are the king of 4x4!
+BoschExxcel
then why the hell are you wasting your time making useless comments?!!
dork
BoschExxcel What's the point??
Does with guy work for Land Rover (probably not cause he's not Indian). Jeeps have a reliability issue but RR's aren't that far behind and you don't have to sell a testicle to buy a Jeep like you do with a RR. If you want reliability in an "off-road" SUV with a splash of leather then go Japanese... or German if you wamt real luxury.
Jeep is Jeep...Land rover is Land rover....apples and oranges buddy
Put in simple terms you get what you pay for.
If people are looking for a seven seater they should be looking at other vehicles.
Most people that carry 7 people are usually not 4 wheel driving.
Why he keeps mentioning bmw x5. It cannot even go off road. It should be compared with anything landrover. The real off-roaders. The jeep has a merc engine and suspension
*****
VM Motori, owned by Fiat but, not a Fiat engine.
Because the land cruiser sucks even more!
Stephen Garron stop with the nonsense people. Fiat has awesome diesel engines, and saying this has a fiat engine should be a compliment.
Biggest let down for Jeep the world over - abysmal dealership service!
Noisy ? Drive it back to back with a Pajero turbo diesel and get back to me...
This guy is talking out of his arse Range rover is twice the price 6.4 get LPG La Dorcus malorcus
zxrrsteve1 in the UK range rovers are similarly priced to the jeep grand cherokee
we want to see the polo r line 2014 please
Volvo xc90 £50 K Jeep every time DUMMY
useless vehicle...who owns this comoany is it fiat....hehe stick eith toyota pal
