cnet.co/15qBehZ It's Jeep's version of the Land Rover, which means rugged and luxurious. Take a ride in our Editors' Choice, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and check the tech.
These reviews are always entertaining to watch. "...and tell your kids to just roll down the window. That thing out there is called a tree." I nearly spit my tea all over my monitor.
I've been driving in 12 inches if snow today and its a dream its real quick to respond the brakes are on point i recommend it, the comfort is also a bonus
Congratulations, hope you enjoy it. I had the 2011 brand new, I never drove a car with such great suspension, it's rugged and smooth in the same time, impossible to describe.
This is America who am I kiddin lmao ..... skip the rear blue ray and tell your kids too roll down a window that thing out there is a tree HAAHAHAHAHAHA
well ...unless you've got time to waste ...I would recommend you to stay away from this car ... I dreamt of owning one ...until I got one: an absolute LEMON : TEN (!!!) VISITS to a NON-caring dealership in less than a year !!! for a BRAND NEW 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE >:(
+Ra Melkon holy hell, give it a rest! We all get it! You got a lemon. Sucks for you, but the GC is actually a great vehicle! I've had my 2015 now for nearly a year now and no issues whatsoever! I'd recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting a luxury SUV that is arguably one of the most capable you can buy.
He said it himself - it's an American Range Rover. As such, it needs to be as luxurious as it is capable off road. I think they did a really good job with that car. No wonder it's the reason why the whole Chrysler-jeep-dodge bunch didn't go bankrupt.
They are doing well compared to the time when Daimler was in charge but they are still in a brink of another one if they don't get a merger with another company.
I've watched virtually every video review in existence on the new JGC (usually the day they come out) and yours is the one I have looked forward to the most. I have to say there's a few things I disagree with (e.g., at the Summit trim level, the diesel engine is only a $2300 option, not $5000). Having said that, thank you for your awesomeness!!!
"truck" : a large, heavy motor vehicle used for transporting goods, materials, or troops. Literally the definition. Doesn't need to have a box bed to be a truck.
The video does point out that jeep has adaptive cruise control, and even shows how to use it. You can instantly tell which ones have it by the the little camera ball looking thing in the lower bumper
Whoa, I just made a comment yesterday Brian should review 2014 GC. I just bought one Monday. I have the Limited which is 5,000 less than this model. I love my GC. I opt out standard tires, rims N gt 20 inch chrome special. The GC has a lot of tech, he didn't talk abt a few. Like the Eco select, press that button n you will save gas. I love the ride and tech. I test drove X5, JX, MDX and GLK. GC was so much better in my opinion. I am going upload vid on TH-cam bc there aren't a lot personal vids
My parents have the limited edition 2013 JGC Trailhawk with the Hemi V8. It's the best Grand Cherokee for off-road. We wouldn't even trade it for a Mercedes SUV, and we feel that American pride when sitting next to a boring Japanese Crossover at a stoplight.
American pride, in a car built on a platform designed by Mercedes, with a German transmission, the option of an Italian diesel, all owned by a company that's Italian... *slow clap*
The engine isnt bad. Ive driven the 2013 model and over all your definitely getting your moneys worth. But I got the impression that tye engine has to work particularly hard on climbs or when fully loaded. The main issue is suspect is a proper transmission and an engine that lacks adequate tuning. That v6 penta can crank ouy an aditional 30 torque& hp
Trail-Rated is available in almost all trims, except the Summit, I believe. (Much to my dismay.) This is due to the 20" tires instead of the 18" tires for the Trail-Rated badge.
Audi diesels are the only diesels i would every consider buying. idc if people say their diesels aren't reliable or blah blah... they're the most efficient diesels in terms of power to fuel consumption
not because i have a 2012 grand cherokee to me is one of the best suv on the market some people are talking about 3 row seat i thank that will be a mistake 3row seat will mess up the shape because that will make it looks longer and also i am talking to crysler company don't even think about to change the shape let it stay the same for years only little bit modifications just like bmw benz or range Rover do so far no complaints crysler is doing a great job
These are REALLY nice vehicles! Adaptive cruise is the best car invention of the decade (I'm addicted to it). Park assist? who cares, dont need it. The GC touchscreen/Nav is well thought out and simple to use - love it! Offroading has been mostly banned and closed off by many State governments -- so you wont be needing any so-called offroad capability anymore. Buy the Diesel for how it drives, not for a financial payback. The Hemi V8 is a blast but that 19 MPG will get old after a few fill ups. The Diesel is just as fun to drive as the Hemi but rewards you with 50% more MPG hwy when you don't have your foot in it. Once you tow with a Diesel, you will never go back -- worth $1300 over the Hemi. The $4 Diesel wont bother you pretty quickly. Want more room? The Durango is a stretched version with longer rear doors -- and is also a dream to drive. I'm impressed with Chrysler now compared to just 5 years ago when my opinion of them was near zero.
nice calculation, but now take into account lower maintenance cost of diesel, the additional lifespan of the diesel, towing capacity and the amount of fun they are (due to much higher torque). I would take the diesel any day of the week
YUP ...POSSIBLY PAID BY Chrysler ...I've PERSONALLY have had the WORST experience with this car ...and I bought it BRAND NEW !!! TEN visits to the dealership in less than a year .......NOT GOOD !!!
***** As a performance yes it is a bargain, but the interior can be better. The plastics and the silver trims are cheap to touch. They could use better materials and that is not a bad thing.
I would go as far to say that Brian Cooley is to America like how Jeremy Clarkson is to UK. He should be hired by the Top Gear USA team to replace the existing clowns in that show. Brian Cooley ROCKS.
I like the direction Chrysler is heading. They are starting to become world class cars. If only Chrysler could build a car to take on the likes of the S Class, 7 Series and A8.
I would also skip the air suspension.. It's nice to get that high ground clearance, but I have heard that IT is what makes the ride so mushy. There was some testing in Iceland I think and they test for MOOSE avoidance. This car failed terribly.. almost rolling over. They pointed at the air ride as the possible cause. So maybe get the regular suspension, loose some ground clearance, but enhance the ride. How many people are really gonna take it off road anyway... which is kinda a shame.
looks great ...BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF buying it ...I got an ABSOLUT LEMON ...TEN visits to the dealership in less than A YEAR ......for a brand new car: UNACCEPTABLE !!!
Hmm.. when I watched that video.. I got the impression that they called Chrysler, and the Chrysler techs decided to add the weight.. which I thought seemed like a dumb idea. Maybe I was wrong, or they misrepresented the test. Still, air ride suspensions can be a bit.. bouncy/mushy if not done very carefully. I have driven a semi with air ride in the front and it was pretty wallowy.. if that's a word.
if youre the kind of person who keeps their cars well past 200k miles, like to offroad, and does frequent roadtrips of over 500 miles then yes it makes a lot of sense. A lot of people dont need the diesel and THATS FINE. But some people do and will put it to good use.
SUV's are becoming more aerodynamic. Aerodynamics means saving $. I would not compare the new Jeep to the Success or failure of the past SUV's of other companies from past times. This is in a class of it's own. Insurance rates will be better for this new Jeep.
These reviews are always entertaining to watch.
"...and tell your kids to just roll down the window. That thing out there is called a tree."
I nearly spit my tea all over my monitor.
Lol tell your kids to roll down the window.
That thing out there is called a tree
+azadin abdo That is one of the best lines he has come up with.... Make me LOL for a good time.
the ultimate troll lmaoo
I've been driving in 12 inches if snow today and its a dream its real quick to respond the brakes are on point i recommend it, the comfort is also a bonus

I love your reviews, your honesty, and taste. Keep up the good work!
cooley is the best! keep the reviews coming bro
"That thing out there is called a tree" Lolz
Its called a Limited in Australia and its brilliant, I have pulled out 1 land cruiser and a Pajero so far. Great work Jeep.
This is America who am I kiddin lmao ..... skip the rear blue ray and tell your kids too roll down a window that thing out there is a tree HAAHAHAHAHAHA
I wet nearly myself when he made that tree joke
Yeah, that guy is awesome.
I like the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I would have never thought that it had those problems you mentioned. Great vehicle to me.
***** That's good.
well ...unless you've got time to waste ...I would recommend you to stay away from this car ...
I dreamt of owning one ...until I got one: an absolute LEMON : TEN (!!!) VISITS to a NON-caring dealership in less than a year !!! for a BRAND NEW 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE >:(

Great video, I picked up a 2015 limited & love it!!
Thank you
Leave this guy alone , hus reviews are funny , straight and very informative ... Watch some more and get his style
Greatttt review as always! The best reviewer!!
Great review, detailed to the point without the BS - others can learn & improve

I like the old jeeps better. My dad had a 96 grand Cherokee, loved that thing
Love my JGC - would buy another without hesitation! 😎
This is very true. I did a spreadsheet of 10 years costs on a Mercedes ML Bluetec and the Urea service charges really did skew the costs around.
Mr.Cooley is the Best!! Keep'em coming
"this ain't no CJ".... love that ribbing.
I hate when people call an suv a truck.
Why?
Because it's not a Truck it's a sport utility vehicle .....
And it's not removable....
No I wouldn't call it a truck
"truck" : a large, heavy motor vehicle used for transporting goods, materials, or troops.
Literally the definition. Doesn't need to have a box bed to be a truck.
DAYUM!!!! This makes my 2002 Jeep Grand Cheorkee overland look like a Jeep Liberty!
The video does point out that jeep has adaptive cruise control, and even shows how to use it. You can instantly tell which ones have it by the the little camera ball looking thing in the lower bumper
That thing out there is a tree, omg. xD Cooley, your humor is one of a kind.
NO the SRT is top of the line
Now the Trackhawk is the top of the line.
Stop fighting !!

Loving my 2012 Overland! 😎
love this thing. one of the nicest american cars on sale
Loved the tree joke at the end!

So much schill
***** It's built in Detroit, Michigan but most of the parts are sourced by European companies.
***** Do you even know what sarcasm is?
***** It's official, you don't know.
Great review and, I like the way you talk. I'll be looking for more of your reviews...
The engine isnt bad. Ive driven the 2013 model and over all your definitely getting your moneys worth. Dream Car!
So did Jeep just completely do away with the Trail Rated badge? or just on this model?
Cooley is the best. Wish he would do more reviews.
i was surprised that he wasn't that impressed with it overall but i like his reviews. i wonder what his thoughts r on the Toyota 4Runner
im going to lease a white Limited im in love with this body style i like it more then a range rover!!
Trail-Rated is available in almost all trims, except the Summit, I believe. (Much to my dismay.) This is due to the 20" tires instead of the 18" tires for the Trail-Rated badge.

I'd love one of these but I also want a 370z 😩
Get a v8 grand Cherokee. That way you have speed, room and off-road capability. The whole package. Some are just 12 thousand
85000 miles on my 2014 limited v6 3.6 rwd no problems
I'm 23 and I love the WWII "Brick-a-Brack" Jeeps!!
I think the grille looks a little two small on this car.
Maybe stretch them lower? I don't know, just my opinion on it.
Very informative. Thank you sir.
When is the 2015 being released? Its spring already
nice calculation, but now take into account lower maintenance cost of diesel, the additional lifespan of the diesel, towing capacity and the amount of fun they are (due to much higher torque). I would take the diesel any day of the week
Another Great Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YUP ...POSSIBLY PAID BY Chrysler ...I've PERSONALLY have had the WORST experience with this car ...and I bought it BRAND NEW !!! TEN visits to the dealership in less than a year .......NOT GOOD !!!
Ra Melkon No one ever said Jeeps were as reliable as its Japanese competition.
Brian Cooley is actually the best car critic ever
Love driving these at my job.
I actually like the look of this vehicle.
Hey Brian, I'm interested in your opinion on the 2013 GMC Acadia when will you have a video on that?
Every model is more and more like a car
Awesome commentary
Man what camera you guys using damn very nice
keech how awesome is that car
Good car. I own a 14 SRT which is a very nice car but at that price the interior quality should be more refined and upscale.
What other SUV gives you that kind of performance with better interior quality for that price?
***** As a performance yes it is a bargain, but the interior can be better. The plastics and the silver trims are cheap to touch. They could use better materials and that is not a bad thing.
Then tell me what diesel engine was offered for the jeep Cherokee in 2007?
great car
"tell your kid to roll down the window...thats called a tree"
lmao good ol Cooley
Aparently some people like the old box styling that jeep used to have. I like the new styling, its agressive and sporty
Cooley is the man!
roll down the window, that thing out there is called a tree. id love to see cooley make clarkson cry with his vocab.
Lmao "that thing out there is called a tree" cooley rocks!
ending was awesome
Love the GC, but hate all the Chrome on the front....almost like the look of the older one. But great interior
Nice video
I would go as far to say that Brian Cooley is to America like how Jeremy Clarkson is to UK.
He should be hired by the Top Gear USA team to replace the existing clowns in that show. Brian Cooley ROCKS.
Brian cooley should have been one of the Top Gear USA presenters
I like the direction Chrysler is heading. They are starting to become world class cars. If only Chrysler could build a car to take on the likes of the S Class, 7 Series and A8.
Correction: Some DO have adaptive Cruise but it is almost impossible on their website to figure that out.
"That thing out there is called a tree" lol
Are the USB charging jacks 2.1amp min?
All hail Cooley for Top Gear USA
The thing out there is called a tree. Priceless
going to rent me one for the raider game still deciding on black or white and I may keep it lol
i didnt get it until i watched the video , then i am all like ha ha ha ha i get it now...
The reason people get the diesel isn't for fuel economy but that it has 420 ft lbs. of torque at real low rpms.
It just isnt what it used to be... but thats a good thing right?
I would also skip the air suspension.. It's nice to get that high ground clearance, but I have heard that IT is what makes the ride so mushy. LOL, this is the editors choice? I would hate to hear what you have to say about the others.
The diesel isn't for saving money on mileage, it's for range. It's also better for a vehicle which will rarely be driven, because diesel keeps better.

Legen...daddy! way to go Cooley!
I'm surprised he didn't say anything about the harman Kardon speaker system
me encanta ese coche!
how hasn't it improved?
"Defanged? should be more pure?"
I don't know about you guys, but if a Grand Cherokee isn't pure enough for off-road then what is? a Hummer H1?
I don't know if he would fit well with other presenters, he's just good on his own.
How's the reliability on this? My dad and grandad both owned jeeps in the past, now they own Subarus and warn me to never buy a Jeep.
This or range rover?
killer shifter!
wei huang i know! haha
what? don't they sell audi's in the USA? what are you trying to say?
What's with the hints of the Evoque???
"That thing out there is called a tree" lmao
