I love this. Am from Malawi. How I wish if we had a sport/game like airsoft. This is amazing, it can help to keep more youth busy and get them thinking than just waiting time.

That will depend on the specific field you are going to attend! Everyone's rules will be slightly different and they will generally allow an age they can insure and legally admit to an airsoft field. For us we have players as young as 8 with adult supervision but you must demonstrate you are able to comply with all the rules + safety regulations or else we will not allow you to play.

Except for stationary target practice with an airsoft Mossburg 2200, I have no experience with airsoft guns. Is there a way for people like me to find out what best suits me? Edit: the airsoft mossburg 2200 was spring pump action with no spread.
I'd suggest looking to see if there is a field near you that offers rental gear! It's a great way to try out airsoft before committing to buying a rifle.

It rly depends on how long youll play, theres no piont in driving for 3 hours and on ly playing for like half an hour, Fortunately- most arenas last for a good long while and its a blast, in that case its worth the drive.

What's the standard RPM/shots per minute (don't know the correct term for fire rate) for a Airsoft gun? I've been looking at reviews and see a lot of people get cucked by amature gunsmiths who make a perfectly working gun non-functional just to fit in the RPM requirement of their field. To avoid that entirely I'd chose a weapon under RPM limits.
Generalized comment: Most stock AEGs with a 9.6v battery tend to shoot anywhere from 13 to 17 rounds per second out of the box. The ones with weaker motors tend to shoot on the lower end of that range. A lipo might push it by 2 or 3 more rps. Many pro-line guns are in the 20+ rounds per second category. The ones with a decent MOSFET or a quicker motor might get you in the mid 20's (with an 11.1v Lipo or similar). For RPM limits you'll have to see what your field allows. A lot of people who like to trick out their guns much like computers are benchmark obsessed so they're trying to game the absolute most out of the system while being within rules (hence feather light trigger pulls and quick semi auto spamming). If you don't want to be about that or pushing the guns to be less reliable as you said, keep the mods to a minimal or don't fundamentally change the way the gun functions by design with short stroking etc.
Depends what your local fields allow. We allow younger players as long as they fully understand the rules and are safe. Regardless of age, if you cannot follow the rules and understand the implications, you're asked to leave with us until you can.
Playing at a field is out of the question for me. I just wanna play with my homies on my (rather large) backyard. I have lots of neighbors and very small fences all around the property. I don't even know if airsoft is legal in my area!. I already have all the necessities and all I need is answers. So: Where do I check the legality of airsoft in my area? How can I prevent being held at gunpoint by police
Hey there! My advice would be to either play at a designated field, or remain on private property that you have permission to use. Be mindful of what is behind your target, and stay away from public roads.
Do airsoft feilds in general do anything to accommodate novices? Would be discouraging to get wrecked by veterans the first time you step into the arena. Like show you the ropes, lessons, teaming you up properly, etc.
It is hard to say what other fields do or don't do. Generally we try to keep the teams even in terms of experience levels, mixing seasoned players with new. It's up to the players to engage the newbies and make the community more inviting.
At we FAF we suggest the player is at least 8 or older, and that younger children are accompanied by a parent. (As long as they play safely and follow the posted rules).

Great question! Most BBs used today are Biodegradable. This is what we require at our fields.

Are spring loaded guns good?
Not all of them are, but many spring loaded snipers can pack a punch!
