  • This video is a recording of a live talk, originally streamed on 23 October 2020.
We all face conflict in our daily lives. Some encounters threaten to crush us mentally, others cause anxiety and self-doubt, or damage our confidence. Whether serving in the Special Forces or rowing oceans, Jason Fox has experienced more than his fair share of these emotional and psychological battles.
In this event that launched his new book, ‘Life Under Fire: How to Build Inner Strength and Thrive Under Pressure’, Jason Fox recounts stories of the military expeditions that have tested his own resolve and discuss the tools he has developed at the cutting edge of an elite military career.
Jason Fox is in conversation with Micheal Coates, former soldier and host of the Declassified Podcast.
They will look at how to build inner strength to help conquer life’s challenges and how to get mentally fit.
Jason Fox joined the Royal Marine Commandos at sixteen, serving for ten years, after which he passed the gruelling selection process for the Special Forces, serving with the Special Boat Service for over a decade and reaching the rank of Sergeant. More recently, Jason has graced our television screens and giving us a taste of action and adventure around the world.
Michael Coates is a former soldier and firefighter with 15 years combined service. He runs a veteran owned company and is also the host of the multi-award winning Declassified podcast.
This event was a part of the National Army Museum’s Mental Health in the Military Programme.

Jason's strongest suit is his honesty & understanding of the damage that ego creates. A real man.

My dad worked for the national army museum for 3+ decades and ended up as head warder before he retired just before they upgraded the building, so I have very fond memories as a kid and growing up visiting all the staff there! 🤗 my friend Theresa still works there I believe but we have lost touch in recent years unfortunately! The museum is a brilliant place to visit and I even have an old photo of my grandad meeting the queen when he worked there around the time my father first started! 😊👍🇬🇧❤🇬🇧❤🇬🇧❤🇬🇧❤🇬🇧❤

I think Jason is an inspiration to millions, by openly speaking across many different subjects he has hugely encouraged discussion that might not otherwise take place. The mind is a very powerful and complex thing, encouraging dialogue on the subject is critically important, bravery takes many forms and being honest is certainly one form. Thanks to Jason and all the very best.

it's not that what I need.
I need to be around good , honest, caring folks..

The interviewer really hasn’t got a clue to ask Foxy . . . Do you think this will help people through your knowledge. Perhaps it was a question for an interviewer , but young people won’t listen these days to the likes of foxy deep down these days. It is a bitchy judgemental world where people don’t really listen to living a good honest life. Very sad. . . And I’m living it.
