Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. You blokes are the ones that should have hosted Top Gear Australia.
I agree!

They could have done top gear UK! I'd rather watch these two!

Is it bad that this made me cry. God I love car culture and how it's bringing people together. This video made me shed man tears.
You are a true car freek❤ and am just like u man✌❤

It got me too man. Such a great thing to watch. I love how cars can bring people together.
This is why I'll never respect those guys out there with their toxicity ruining this beautiful community
Im not a big fan of all jdm but japan dose it right love the purple car clean af
4 years later i wonder if 88's still have the car somewhere and if mcm will make another movie with them. I miss these kinds of movies haha but turbos and temples was amazing as well
I hope they do

“They keep a generator and lights in an unlocked shed trusting the honesty of fellow drifters to return everything and in years nothing has been stolen” - that’s amazing
I just wish the rest of the public world would look at cars the same way. That kid and his Civic may have a loud exhaust, but it's his passion and he's probably loving it.
@Snow Wolf your the same guy who calls a Honda a ricer then gets smoked and calls it a cheater huh
Lord Smuggington I never thought of them that way
If someone built a car in north america in the same style they did, with the huge pipes and absolutely no ground clearance, theyd get absolutely shit on for being a punk ass ricer. But it seems in Japan every style has a name, a culture behind it and a near equal amount of respect. Id love it if where i live everyone could just get along and appreciate that not only the fastest best handling cars are the best.

I saw one drift car in a video from like 2010 one time and then a year or two later on a totally different channel I saw the same exact car but all bashed up at the ebisu minami circuit, it was crazy.
the car had a unique paint which made it easy to spot, it was a lexus but I'm not sure which model.

Yonathan Hornberg Did you get your car now?
5 years later and on my 20th something rewatch, still my favorite feature length movie on youtube.
The two of you are the best.
Word bro!
The 88's are so down to earth. I envy that kind of commitment and community. It is almost the exact opposite in the Midwest u.s.
people from the midwest are nice compared to east coast people lmao. especially new yorkers...
Ben Dover I'm from Philly. The amount of assholes on the east coast is ridiculous. Honestly, the Midwest isn't far behind. You could probably go as far as saying that 80% of the u.s. is full of assholes anymore. Only places I've been that have a decent amount of generally OK people are Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee (depending on the area) and Maine (mostly).
Ben Dover there are decent people everywhere. I was speaking in a general consensus. The places I listed have a majority of nice people that will go out of their way to help others. As far as the 88's go, I'd say some of them probably do car related work. Maybe service garage work or something. But like the u.s. I'm sure some are in retail, manufacturing, industrial jobs. That is what makes it so cool. We are all so different Yet have a common interest that brings us all together. I'm sure it is the same over there. Just with a major difference. Their sense of honor and dedication in everything they do is so much deeper.
Kyle Harris west central illinois is has some pretty damn great people..
Kyle Harris Sadly, the here on the west coast, there can be some real pricks in the car scene. You get a lot young douche bags who barrel through suburban streets at 3 in the morning, or who think the freeways are a racetrack. There are some genuinely nice people from time to time though, which is cool.
Yuuuus :D The wait is over!
***** seems like forever. didn't know you was into this kinda thing wip been a sub to your channel for a long while

You guys seeing how you were having fun made me happy inside because it's the same feeling I have when I'm behind the wheel . I love jdm cars , I feel in love with such legends as the r34 , R33 , r32 , Silvia , supra and all those known beauties .if every girl can feel what I have felt it's just wow , I fell in love with something amazing . I would take a car over a man anyday ! Because when you drift it's like your free for those seconds as racing. The beauty of it too is when you have built it yourself as I have grown with my brother building a 70 challenger, it was a weird world but as I grew up I came to understand on why my brother would always smile when he worked on his car . Now I'm the one smiling 😊
Does it matter if your a female? It shouldn't. The fact that you love cars is enough isn't it?
That said it's always nice to know that car culture isn't a complete sausage fest 90% of the time.
Why all girls can be that way
Yes it's very much like female in gaming.
Always creeped on by males, as a male it saddens me that this is how alot of men are.

this is what has really pulled me back to cars, they aren't just boxes on wheels that sometimes are driven in races like F1, GT3, GT2, they are ways of life, languages and a bonding even if you are completely different you will almost certainly make a friend. if you aren't, you are doing it wrong. I love the car culture of japan and almost makes me want to learn it myself, go there and have the most fun of my life. None of my friends understand this but i am sure you will

i can honestly say, and it pains me to say this but its true, i really do enjoy MCM over topgear :D!!
Me too. Top gear is enjoyable because we get to have a taste of something that we would never get to experience. MCM on the other hand gives us inspiration for something that we all could achieve, with time and patience. Top gear avarege car $150k and up. MCM avarege car $5k and up.
Don't forget about budget. TG have had a no limits rule. It will pay it self off any way. And MCM lads are full time working part time cars working normal people.
if top gear did more goofy and cheap cars then i would perfer top gear :d
mcm>topgear ...any day every day
Your profile pic is of the Stig mate. Also Top Gear is no more.
I dont know why but that opening montage always hits me super hard.
I grew up playing hockey. I had a couple seasons playing on a serious team, but most of the time id just play rec league, pick up, or on my own on lakes or any ice i could find. It was all the same to me. I didnt need to be a pro to feel good on the ice. But as i grew up, i had to spend more time working or going to school and hockey just died for me. And whenever i go into my basement and see my bag of hockey gear, still packed like im ready to go play, i start to miss it so much it hurts.
The drift scene in the 90s reminds me so much of that. These groups of people would organize events, have trophies made and build their cars all on their own time and budget. They did it all for the fun and the love of the sport. Any rivalries were probably in good nature. And seeing these cars its easy to tell what happened. One too many fender benders, or a broken part they said theyd fix later, and they go park it in the yard, fully intending to fix it up and get it back onto the mountain and hit the roads again. But they grew up too, and way too many of those cars are probably never gonna move again.
I really hope that the next generations grow up to appreciate this kind of scene. And if even a few of them buy one of these old beasts and give em some new life, it would at least mean the scene stays alive. It'll never be what it was and that sucks. But it'll still be there

MCM, you guys put so much work into these videos. I would honestly pay to see them ha! you really deserve a spot on TV.
After being inundated with super cars/rebuilds, I recently trusted TH-cam's recommendation for MCM. These guys, their projects, their antics are....priceless. I have so much to binge watch!
I would not mind every season starting like this. Cool to see the 88s again.
Wish I could add a like to this every time I watch it. No matter how low you feel, this brings a smile to any face, anytime.
I wish we had stuff like this in the states. Everything is so ego driven, you always have to be better then the next guy and it ruins so many car related things. Rather it be meets or cruises, it always gets shut down by some idiot or some fight by two moronic muscle head. I admire the Japanese car scene.
Exactly my thoughts. Whether someone has an s15 with a pristine low mileage body and an rb25det swap or a beat up old jzx90 with only the most basic of mods, everyone appreciates that these cars are just a reflection of you and your tastes and that theyre meant to be enjoyed. No judgement or competition, just people coming together because they all love the same thing
same shit in France ... They don't have the "spirit" of cars' passion.
@@thecanucklehead3034 I love seeing the ingenuity and creative things that people do with their cars period. I saw a guy today in an Eagle Talon that had completely redone the engine compartment. MCM > Top Gear
k
forever
MCM > Roadkill
Roadkill is all about half-assing things and destroying muscle cars that could've been taken back from their sorry state and turned into cool rides.
But they fall into the wrong owners' hands and are now somehow a joke to be played out in front of a camera while their engines give out a last hurrah.
MCM however, despite originally making ironic content occasionally, they actually produce real, meaningful, and quality content, especially TV length stuff.
26:11 is probably the best way to describe the feeling. MCM has a sense of sympathy Roadkill doesn't.
Mightycarmods is a true inspiration to me. I wish there was a community and enthustiasts like these guys in the states. THIS is what its all about. Not judging one another and getting into trouble. At least its good to know that something like this exists. Thank you Mightycarmods. Truely amazing.

I'm a real car guy as well as these guys. Maaaaddd! Chopped!! haha yeah
Loved the video. I just wouldn't have it that low; if your scraping your exhaust your too low. But the end I really enjoyed and I wish we had this in the US...go to a hill or mountain have a unlocked shed with some supplies and you just barrow/replenish them when your done drifting. Total respect to everyone and everything. Here in the US; do this and the police will come and bust you for it. Hell they will even bust you for heavily modifying your ride.
They can't bust you for shit if it's all legal. :) Look up the RS211. That's a Lotus Elise man! hahaha. And if you go to an abandoned parking lot, you can drift, but it must be abandoned. Or if the owners are okay with it. It's just people tend to be dicks here...
***** In the US you can sue someone else because you did something stupid. Most other countries would laugh you out of the courtroom if you got hurt doing something ignorant and tried to sue someone else about it.
jeepmanxj In the US, a burglar can sue you if they get injured...
Mel Laknanurak yes they can.
Even if yo could go out into the country and have fun without worrying about the cops you know all the stuff in the shed would end up getting stolen. That or broken and nobody would replace it.
I would love it if it was like that here in the States though.
I need that brand of spray paint cuz I couldn't believe the actual gloss y'all achieved
I keep coming back to this, ive watched this from beginning to end countless times, absolutely beautiful, the connections that were made despite the two groups not even being able to speak to each other was amazing, though without a doubt the universal language both parties understood was magnificent cars. i wish i could re watch this like it was new every time. MCM, please make more feature length videos like this, they are the definition of inspiring.
Me here In 2021 coming back from when I first saw it 4 years ago gives me so much memories Theres two need to start doing these again
