In his early work he has used his Welsh accent (but more recently in Edge of Love) but he has also played various English accents from cockney to Northern. He is a man of a thousand accents...He is a very underrated actor IMO!
I loved Matthew Rhys as Kevin...and now I love him as Phillip.
Matthew Rhys: Possibly the best actor on any screen since de Niro. Don't sleep on it.
Rhys' beauty comes from his wham bang acting skill. He's an average looking guy who opens his mouth and makes poetry. That's why you're attracted to him! I know it works for me. He's just not Brad Pitt, Zack Efron, Eric Bana Denzel handsome. He's quirky. But gorgeous voice, eyes and emotive face. And his delivery, comic or drama is pitch perfect. Talent is very attractive.
I'd been waiting for this interview for almost 2 years (No kidding, ever since may 2011).
It only makes me sadder that the actors say how much they wanted to make the shortened 6th and final season and TPTB just didn't allow it :(
Anyway, so happy for Matthew and his new gig, he is doing a fantastic job! Can't wait for his big screen break.
He doesn't have a 'thick' accent, he is from Wales and therefore has a Welsh accent!
wonderful in "The Scapegoat" which you can find on NewFlix. In fact I'd never seen brothers and sisters and first saw him in scapegoat and wondered who is this Fabulous English actor and why don't I know about him. Tho he's great in bros and sis, and does a fab American accent, I really prefer him speaking in his native accent. What's up with Engliand not using him???
