For the love of God, don't ever cycle.
There's a motorcycle for the
@@dongshengdi773 FOR THE WHAT?!? For God's sake, man! TELL US!!!
Watching you suffer for your health makes me feel less lonely 😂😅
Looking forward to this everyday.
Hey bro, youre gonna want to keep the sun off your arms and neck. Trust me. Been cycling here in thailand for years (and i vlog about it on this channel). Trust me, keep the sun off your skin here.
Yes, put your seat up Paddy, backformwork is correct you need to have your seat at about hip height when standing next to the bike. Youreg should be able to go about 90% straight while peddling. Also, stretch your legs and caves. Hope your knee does better. Hit me up if you want as I am a former personal trainer, cyclist and yoga teacher 😊
Yes that seems to it looking at your videos.. maybe a few inches up a little..
Ride on and you'll feel the change hopefully
True, sitting way too low, causing a lot of strain on the knees
Paddy, you made Barbara's day naming the bike Nora, and giving her a shoutout. Thank you so much!
Any time! it was a great suggestion
Reflective orange vest would be ideal for added visibility
lights all around too
I cannot believe how much extra work he’s putting himself through by keeping the saddle height so low.
Paddy mate please put your seat up as you’re killing your knees. Could easily go up 10/15 mm. Massive difference to pedal efficiency and longevity. Try it and see
K TH-cam for saddle hight.
I think he filmed these some days ago so it's too late. He's gonna wreck his knees for sure.
@@Wilko11 that's amazing if he made it in that condition. No small feat.
That 360 camera is amazing
You got this Paddy! Better than I could do!
Love the perspective and views. In Thailand the mixed traffic is completely normal…it works once you figure it out 👍
Awesome. Do your thing man. A bicycle is the way to go.
Rest is part of training.
Enjoy everything. Enjoy the pain.
Enjoy the pain ;) true!
Go for it Paddy.
Excellent challenge.
I've been a touring cyclist for years, please listen to everyone who is telling you to put your seat up. Its for your benefit to help you reach your goal with your knees intact.
Sending energy vibes to you. Love the new adventure! 💕🇺🇸
What a champion! 🏆
Hopefully moving your saddle up a bit so your legs are only slightly bent will help with your knee pain and make your pedaling more efficient. Also, hard to tell on the 360 camera (which is fantastic, btw!), the pedal spindles should be directly under the balls of your feet or maybe slightly behind, which will help engage your calves & increase efficiency as well.
Keep it up!!! 💪😎
Cycling across Thailand in hot season.
It’s a bold strategy Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for him.
you are a brave man!! I could never do that !! The roads and the drivers are way too insane there !! Great video !
Still smashing it 👌🏼
one day at a time...
This is quite the challenge! You're doing great :)
Wow, thank you for nice view around you from countryside road.
Yes paddy,,,,go for it ,,,,,,peace and happiness on your travels 😊😊😊😊😊
“I had diarrhea…” 🤣 absolutely dead ☠️
Love the series!
Paddy perhaps not wear Green shirt while cycling next to the folliage on hightways. Maybe orange? You might blend into the view it only takes one driver to be texting and not see you
Another Awesome Adventure Paddy Doyle Thank You🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada🙂
Absolute respect to you brother, that's a lot of hard work..much love and respect
Respect for doing this 😅😅😅🎉
HERE IS NR 3 GOOD LUCK PADDY your a hero respect dude
Another great job of bicycle storytelling. I am enjoying your trials and tribulations. Thanks from Seattle.
I came over from Tread the Globe and am really enjoying your videos, past and present! I love your humor, you make me laugh out loud!
Great! :) You can make it I am sure. I see you have the same habit as me stopping with 7/11 and such, it is very convenient, toilets some places also. However I really recommend you to try some of the more local shops , you kind of meeting more of the "real people" and might end up in some interesting conversations or experiences. Love your vids, keep it up! Have been cycling allot in Thailand myself.
Another Nora rolling across Thailand. I did it this trip on my Nora in 2022 :)
Just got a question. You have a support vehicle or someone else filming. Are they on a motorbike or bicycle?
Also, I have (too) many bikes and ride a lot. You should be doing 50km and build up. Your knees will also not get better unless you raise your seat. I get sore knees watching you.
Keep up the good work mate..I am a long long term subscriber and enjoy what you do.
Have a safe and wonderful ride.
Good Luck Bro
Bravo!
Did some thinking whilst watching this one. Mostly because i never started my channel and why i watch some people I'm subscribed to more than others. I think it comes down to how personal the videos feel . I think you've done an excellent job making your videos as personal as they need to be so people watching feel some kind of connection with you. Good job bud.
The best way to see any country is by cycling. We are so used to driving along highways at speed we never really know what we have missed. Having cycled myself, through parts of Africa, I know from personal experience how arduous this type of trip can be. Good luck Paddy and keep safe.
I am glad the new phone mount did its job buddy. Cycle on😂
That big yellow hotel was a great find. It looked brand new.
yeah a great find!
Safe ride 🎉🎉🎉
Great to see your back in Thailand Paddy! Being an avid bike rider myself don't overexert yourself. Especially if your not in great shape. The knee pain is not uncommon at first. It should get better as your body gets more accustomed to riding. I do love your enthusiasm!
Paddy, it looks like you've got your saddle height set a bit low. Try raising it a tad, and see if that helps. When you set it too high, you'll know it: that's where you have to start hopping from side-to-side. At proper height your leg should be just above fully extended on the bottom of the stroke. If the knee's locked, you've gone too far.
Paddy, buy a hi-vis jacket....wearing dark green and black against the same colour enviroment....ie, trees, bush and bitumen is not really safe for you.
Glad to see you taking rest days and not pushing too hard.
Enjoying seeing you back in Thailand....keep up the good work.❤
Paddy, best wishes on this new challenge. What about ending each day’s video with a slide showing your route and day’s travel? When you come through our area we can go check out where you were.
Its a good idea to avoid the main road. Safety first. ✌✌✌
When I saw the rain today, I wondered if you had a less sweaty day lol.
But keep an eye out for the rain, Paddy, it might reach you soon.
The air is fresh and cool in Hua Hin.
Never thought about riding a bicycle across Thailand Good stuff. I Was born in Lampang currently live in Miami Florida. I've gone back once a year to Chiang Mai to visit my mother. I rented a motorcycle and did the Pai - Mae hong son loop and loved it. I'm definitely retiring there in a few years and probably will make my home base Bangkok.
Crazy 😮!!!
...and do love your "hat" under your helmet, so cute! :)
Good to see u are doing 2 nights accommodation .. it makes sense. Even do 3 if u have to for recovery. Its amazing what u are doing and best of luck to you.. Duu la dua eng khun Paddy 😊
Listening to The Rest Is Football - good taste, there Paddy!
It's fair to say that it will get easier as you're fitness and stamina increase.
Still no mean feat to cycle top too bottom. I will be tuned in all the way. Good on ya Paddy
Great adventure! Looking forward to the next episode.
However the bike seat seems way too low it will make you more tired and the plate way too small it will make you pedal non stop... would consider also to use narrower tires as well 😅 (just trying to help). 👍🏻
You need to get foot straps so you can utilize your energy on the up stride of your pedal. It should help keep your knees relaxed
so hyped for your new thai series!! wohooo
ps: how abut some side mirrors? cld be worth it, heard too many stories
where motorbike drivers hitting other bikers from the side and rob them.
not sure if its still a thing or not, ask again Miss P pls^^
Best wishes on your challenge, Paddy. I hope it turns into an amazing adventure. I did a few short cycles around Scotland and the Islands (read whisky distilleries) and always ensured I had spares for the bike, inner tubes, temporary tyre, puncture repair kit, a few tools. Also in that environment you may want to get some handle bar mirrors - they would give you a little warning or things going on behind you. You're doing great, but cycling during the cooler hours of the day will be a great benefit and rest during the hotter hours maybe 2-3 hours. Look after that left knee, a topical ibuprofen cream will help, as will turmeric.
great courage Paddy.. then, missed the 'little red riding hood'😂.. thought this will be the special branding for the nextcouple of hundred of miles..
Loving this Paddy, just take care of yourself ok, you're not an athlete! enjoy the ride. It's not a race.
Your seat is too low, It will make your legs ache, on the down stoke your leg needs to be straight.
Monday I started my training for the walk from France to Portugal with some ladie. One is in Chiang Rai, one in Serbia and one in Argentina, I am in the USA for the next few months.
We will cycle and hike…but we are all in our late 60’s! Hahahahahah
You are an inspiration dear, yes, pace yourself!!
Blessings dear!
Did I not tell you mate, you are nuts to try to do this journey in four weeks. Brutal adventure. You are lucky a big o tiger did not jump out of the jungle and eat you.
haha I feel ya
@@PaddyDoyle.Do you remember that story, an Ethiopian runner was training in the country side on a small country road. All they ever found was a pair of bloody shoes.
What was the name of the town you finished in?
Paddy where are your safety lights for the dangerous roads???! Is there at least a bright red blinky light on the back?
Should use a pedal assist electric assistance bike for the mountains. Now days they can be very light weight. It would be nice if they came with regenerative braking for the downhill runs.
Paddy , the salad im sure you know is laphet thoke , a go to for us at our favorite Thai/Burmese restaurant in Buffalo NY. Be safe and take a frighin break you're not in your 20s we all want to see you vlogging for years and if you hurt yourself that would hinder your future capabilities. God bless, you crazy bastard . ❤😂
Hiya Paddy. Do not put yourself down. You are smashing it for someone who does not ride all the time.
Hello Nora. Where was that poll Paddy? On Instagram.
After you had that coffee. Thought that would be me done for the day. Early morning. LOL. Sorry. TMI.
You made a good call. Taking time out.
Bananas. Love. Omelette wish I could eat. But Eggs hate me. LOL.
Always. Amazing shots. From every angle. Beautiful drone footage. Lots of work. Thank you. Tiger balm. Helps all pains for a little.
Downhill. Wind in your hair.
If only that could last longer.
Great video. Great end to your day. Cheers. Well Deserved beer.
I posted the question over on IG you must of missed it, thanks for the lovely comments as usual!
Mate. As a cyclist who has done 120 mile rides back to back I think your knee issue is because your seat is not high enough! I have had exactly the same problem as you years ago and raising my seat did the job. Watching you ride, your knee remains too bent at the lowest point of your peddling. Take a few minutes reading on the internet about how to set your seat height properly. As little at 5mm can make your pain go away! Please give it a go. Bless you and good luck
Hey bud! Great videos! Your seat looks a bit too low? could cause damage in your knees.
You should ask Michael with you, I like to see if he still can talk! Wish you the best, environmental friendly, good idea!!! 💡
Hi Paddy when I saw u cycling and hear u mention about ur recurring knee pain i noticed that it may help if you raise ur seatpost a little higher. Just a thought for u to consider trying if it helps. Have a blessed journey. Cheering u on.
Loving the 360 shots paddy. They add something new. Cool.
Watch that 7/11 food dude. It’s all additives and E numbers son. Will give you nob rot.
Idea for a future project, spend a week living with a Thai rice farming family. You can thank me later!
Hi Paddy, the only thing that worries me is that when you cycle thru the countryside , it is the wildlife e.g. tigers. That is always in my mind when you travel thru the quiet route.
look for the option of walking route on google maps, basically it ill be the same as a cycling route or pretty similar.
Yeah, no. Screw the highways. I agree on as many side roads as possible. Safety first Patty! PS Of course outside Lampang there is no other options! They paved over the small road with the highway.
Dude you have gone mad. 😂 No way I would attempt that. But I bet the views are great. Good luck to ya. ✌🏼
Especially during summer ! Completely nuts even during cool season!
And the Main Roads are also Boring sometimes. Good Luck Paddy ! 🙏
hi , paddy very interesting vlog , you are very brave to travel in the very hot season , for your safety you should put a flashing light on your helmet or bike it 's very important the car or truck driver can see you , take care
Omg Paddy I almost thought you were gonna eat a banana a black coffee for brekkie, I was so mad. Thank god you are some real food!🥘
Just out of the shower, ready to watch! Lol
@paddydoyle Try spinning in an easier gear, it always looks like you're pushing so hard. Also, make sure the seat height is set properly. With that said, I am so stoked to see you riding bikes...keep it up, your body will get used to it the further you go...can't wait for the rest of the series.
The best phone holder by far is the quadlock. Have you got a solar powered power bank for charging your phone?
Dear Paddy
I think your saddle is set a little low, have fun with Nora 💙
I think your saddle could be too low and that could be causing your knee pain. So many people ride bikes with their saddles too low. There are many videos on YT about correct saddle height. Good luck!
Paddy ,what is the name / model of that invisible camera on your handle bars ?
What about your visibility to vehicles even during the
Day? Maybe a bike flag or orange vest?
Loving this biking series but wow you have to be so sore??
ppl saying the knee pain be the saddle height, could be assymetrical hip aductors. i.e. one of those pedal extenders on the right foot..
use your rearview mirror and wear reflective vest .
You should install a rearview mirror on your bicycle. Have a safe trip. Su Su ka✌️🚴
Not sure you'd try this , perhaps it's a bit of a stretch for some straight-laced people . I know it's widely used in Thailand, Kratom . It's legal in my state N.Y. and ill ve using it soon for pain management from my peripheral neuropathy I'm dealing with. It's rated as a great way to suppress pain and provide energy. Just a thought, if it's crazy just ignore
what little town was that at the destination?
Mate,
you need to wear a hi vis jacket on motor way just in case..we need you..
Paddy, I know you were going to discuss the bike later but what PSI do you put in the Tyres, I ask because I was told by a serious biker that this would make an enormous difference riding on Tarmac?
Question Paddy. I´m guessing you use the mobile phone rather much for maps, directions and so on. How do you charge it during ride? Or do you manage to stick to one charge for the whole day?
Well in average it’s downhill more than uphill from north to south so at least going the right way
Did you raise ur seat yet
If your left knee hurting is a somewhat chronic issue that comes back when you stress it, you may have a torn meniscus. If it gets in your way too much, see an orthopedist. Unfortunately, most of the time the only way to fix it is surgical.
Did you weigh yourself before you started this journey? Wondering how many pounds you would have shed by the end.
Please buy rear mirrors!!
