Good jop guys god blees you
I really enjoy watching you two work together. You remind me so much of my Dad and uncle. Everything they did they were doing it together. If strangers walked up on them sometimes they would think they were fighting lol. But they were exactly like you and Wiley just going on with each other having a good time. Keep up the good work and keep putting these videos out. Thanks for sharing!!
Loved the ad form Area Diesel Service being in there! That was pretty darn cool in my opinion.
Thanks for another great video.
This old Mack is putting up a fight for sure. I don’t know anything about these Mack’s so am not much help to you.
Am sure some comments will push you in the right direction.
Hang in there. Got to be getting closer to making it run again.
Thanks for everything Hank and Wiley.
Looking forward to part three on this old Mack.
Thanks.
The Iowa Farm Boy.
Always like your videos guys. As an ex mechanic myself, always when you take off nuts and bolts is put them in bags and label them where they came from, Or put them back in holes etc where they came from too. It saves so much time in the long run.
Thank you for your APPRECIATION to your subscribers Hank
Good job guys I was skeptical on the timing but I had faith in wiley😊
Just an idea if when installing something heavy like that use a couple of studs screwed in the bolt holes then put it on the studs and slide it in that way it takes some of the weight then put in a couple of the right bolts in and snug them up pull out the studs then put in the right bolts.
It saves the back and arms
Wow…what a difficult thing to do in the field. Good luck boys.
Great part 2 thanks Hank and Wylie
Y'all have done a outstanding job with that pump
Good morning, I love your videos, cool calm and humour, working on seized bolts and clips out in the field, I so admire, it’s bad enough working on cars 10years old as an amateur. Kind regards form north of Scotland. 👍👍👍👍
Y'all are awesome 👌, I enjoy watching the two of you working on stuff and cracking jokes!! God Bless y'all and stay safe!! Thank y'all for the laughs and good times!!
Yes Wiley, that packaging was made for that pump... We used to send out Windshields packed like that... You wrap the item in the gray film, then spray the foam around it.... The foam expands and fills the gaps as it dries.....
Trust you guys were supernaturally protected as that storm came near you, enjoy the channel.. keep on keeping on, blessings to you and yours from Cicero Indiana
Hank and wiley are work so well together while cracking jokes it’s like me and my buddy when we work on stuff
Right on.
smear some grease on the gasket it will stick it there. Have a nice Wilton vice on the truck yet - chuck that between wood jaws an you can take stuff off and on easily. Or simply on a nut that is in a different rotation and simply holding.
This was a critical thinking and discussing video. Cant wait for part 3.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good job so far guys looking forward to the next video
Awesome video. Hank, I appreciate the channel and the hard work you and Wiley are doing. Thanks, buddy 👍
Hey man send me an email when you get a chance please. Hank at hamiltonville farm dot com. I appreciate it
Looks good to me so far. Keep up the good work gentlemen! 😎👍
I just wish I was there. I Taught diesel engineering for a good few years and fitted hundreds of in-line and rotary pumps. Set the engine, set the pump and get the timing marks in line. Spill cut off method works well.
Very good job and God bless y'all
I use 3m spray tack for keeping gaskets in place to. Works good and not as messy as permatex
I nailed this. I just turned on TH-cam, and you guys popped up and it said posted 48 seconds ago.
Nice!
@@HamiltonvilleFarm no kidding
Love that you bring this stuff back to life; or in some cases try to.
Right on
Thank you for blogging every day
Wish you luck guys! 👍
that pump is kickin you butts hank..lol..good stuff you guys as always.
My favourite truck Mack R series😊
Great job guy.s wow some time.s we get a little over our heads in stuff 😅 thank you so much
Thank you Area Diesel Service and random commenters.
Love watching you guys, but sometimes it's so painful, when it comes to removing nuts and bolts, and not putting them in the position they came of on parts, or taken photos of how parts and hose look in place, but don't stop cause these videos are making followers
Great video enjoy watching keep up the great work
🇬🇧 Hi. Hank & Wily interesting project you have taken on , Do you know that you can buy Magnetic Screw Trays so when you are taking Bolts and Screws out they stay in the Tray , what I normally do is I put a piece of Masking tape on the tray and write on it where I have taken the Bolts and Screws From what part of the Engine , Just a Tech Tip for the future I hope it helps , also any heavy part I suspend by a Strap to take the weight off holding it , especially if I was working on my own with no one to hold it . Keep the vids coming boys 👍
Awesome job hank and wiley I enjoyed the video 😊
Boa noite muito ótimo esse serviço caminhão bonito meu amigo
Thanks!
We used to have those old macks and auto cars to log with before we went to intentional and Peterbilt also had a 13 speed cabover l-9000 ford that would hunt the other end of the world if u had enough juts to hold her to the floor
Fellas love the videos but if both pins line up it's in time the pump has too turn with the motor so as long as they line up it will be fine turning the pump or the motor so it doesn't matter which one you turn plus you can twist the pump housing love the videos and the comedy
hank looks beat and frustrated. typical mechanic feelings. hahaha
Hank; surely it would be easier to spin a bolt without those girly gloves on🤦♂️😂😂
All I can say is wow. You cannot treat all diesel engines the same when it comes to timing.I watch you guys struggling and I wonder how I did this by myself when I had my service truck.
Love you all show
The timing mark is on the harmonic balancer for injection pump
u have to rotate the pump to match the current engine timing
In a tight you can use grease to hold a gasket in place
Most injection pumps are installed at cylinder 1 tdc compression. The pumps usually have a timing window. Leave it to an ole Mack to put up a fight
I was wondering when you guys were going to finish working on the Mack
Привет старики разбойники удачи вам во всём. Очень классно.
Sweat is litterally dripping from Hanks nose as he fights the fuel pump 46:38
Hank if we can get Harbor Freight to put their initials on their tools you wouldn't need to put your HF on your tools. Just a thought
Mack makes a clutch adjustment socket that fits in a hole on the side of the bellhousing that may turn the engine?
That's a very expensive pump or repair just to start up an old truck sitting in a field. I sold a lot of Mack Factory reman fuel pumps in the 80s but I have no idea how to time one . I've should have learned from one of the mechanics in the shop. That's silver canister sticking out on the front of the pump I think is what they called a puff limiter which was supposed to help eliminate unburned Fuel and smoke. Sold a lot of those as well you can't beat a Mack from that era there like a tank.
Stay tuned
I had a dream last night that the whole school took a field trip to your place and you were giving us a tour of your things and you had all kinds of things I don’t know why I dream that 😂
6ou could look at your old pump and see were your pin and coupler stopped at. That will let u no if your still in time.❤
You can use grease on a gasket to get it to stick
Turn motor counter clockwise.
All that for a $275.00 truck, rock on guys😮
Can't you.just move the coupler on your pump Tobe in 😊time with your motor?
Hank Wiley call an expert like Wes he maybe able to unconfused you so you don't have to do it again.
Farah Fawcett was the girl in the Noxzima commercial with Joe Namath . Hank don’t know her ??
Indy baby!!!!!
I don’t think I have ever seen a spider that big
c est du travail de changer une pompe injection...vue en france
Hank and Wiley you two are like the Donald Trump of you tub will it starters, meaning you don’t know what the he’ll you are going but you are doing it real well.
Keep up the wonderful work and I missed your jokes this episode
Am I the only one that notices that Hank tries to never get his hands dirty??? No gloves for poor old Wiley!!!
Told you that pump was heavy. Stay Safe You Guys.
If it starts wiley, you better buy it and stick the truck in your front yard..
Arent these Mack engines getting kind of rare??
Get yourself a manual to guide you on the installation
Вы крутые деды 🇷🇺
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 I Don't Know 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Either one of those MACKS have twin sticks?
😛😛😛😛😛❤❤❤❤🦾🦴🦾🦴👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
bet this will never run again you have no idea of how to time that up best off not even trying
This comment didn't age too well! 😂
Can we crank this truck headed to Haiti? It has to make it on the boat!
th-cam.com/video/rAjN0wLMmLo/w-d-xo.html
Suggestion, take pictures so you now how to put it back together.
YOU AND WILY JUST GIVE THAT THING A LICKIN', AND I'LL BET IT'S GONNA START TICKIN'. YOU GUYS KEEP PUSHIN' ON... PEACE...
Get er done! Nice work I hope it works for your sake. When it fires up it will be glorious I m ready !
Well gentlemen or if ya prefer by now, shi*heads, have done some kind of a ton of work.... I been there and done that plus called myself a shi*head before I was through. I can't stress enough about writing down everything and not to leave to memory... I say it and broke the golden rules a good many times cause of doing a few and so how could I miss... and did miss that time. Before camera phones, we did write it down plus one thing to ever make things easier on yourself again is making tools for the job. Look in any old timers tool box and your going to find tools that make no sense to anyone but him/her. Those tools for taking off or putting on fuel systems were regarded as a tool never ever for about any reason but for just doing a fuel pump on say a mack or a cummins engine. Now whether they were wrapped up in a towel or in a special spot in their box, they bent or ground off the parts that would not allow a socket or a wrench so it did work. I suppose your going to call me a dang lyer but I took a piece of cable and after a good amount of time getting all the oil and grease out of it, welded sockets to that cable or made it so you could use different sockets on it and get past spots that the extension would of looked like a snake going into those places. From crows foot to a wrench with spots ground off or the sides of it so thin that you wondered if it was strong enough to even work after all of the modifying of it. Lots of my box end wrenches were ground off on the part of the wrench to allow it to go where a regular box end wouldn't go. Another one was quarter inch drive ratchets were modified to allow it to work with a lot bigger sockets than you can buy on it... That meant that you couldn't use a adaptor on it to make them work because of the space you had so if you did use a ratchet, it was ratchet and then socket and no extensions. I started making sure I had good grease or silicone to fix a gasket to hold it in place while installing something. But one thing sure, you never loaned any pump tools, you never used them even just once on something else... pumps only and it was the golden rule we made for ourself. When we knew the pump was coming off, that engine was put in time the way it had to be before any pump came off.... EVERY TIME! We used a torch if needed to get fittings off and never ever rounded the edges if possible as you have found that someone else was into it before and had rounded off the nut or bolt so you couldn't work on it. I have spot welded tools to bolts so they not only held but had heat on them to help break it loose. You might just start with boxes of baggies and also colored zip ties so that it will help to see what went where.... using different colors of zip ties on say hoses so that the two blue went one place and the two red went another and so on. When it comes to timing a fuel pump, no question is a dumb question I have near turned blue trying to explain how on some things work or go on a spot to someone who just didn't understand how or why .... I guess this last thing is getting someone to help on your first few that has done this job before... no need to add people who are as green as yourself unless they were the only sober one on the job. I ain't much help on any Mack as they are just their own special kind of "special".
👌👌👌👌👍👍😊😊
I didn’t hear any papa jokes. Are you and your Dad Wiley having some drama?
😂
I enjoy your videos, but you need to take a couple of pictures before you take it apart so you don't have so much trouble putting it back together. That's what I do anyway.
😛😑😑
An hour long video just to fit a fuel pump.
Does the rest of that Mack get any love, or is it too far gone, and you only care about getting the engine back in service? Seems like a lot of time and money just to hear it run, you guys are selling the engine I'm guessing.
are yall abusing another MACK?
You guys seem stressed.
Today was a waste of time.
mortske repair sell great scrapers
