  • 2019 Branson Thomas 57 Dutch barge with single Barrus Shire 90 Diesel engine (142 hours) Meticulously engineered and designed, “Second Wind” offers the space, and amenities which make her ideal as a liveaboard both in UK waters and beyond. The wheelhouse offers a sociable seating area, which surrounded by glazing boasts great light and views. The Roof has been designed to lower, reducing the air draft allowing navigation . The main living area is all open plan, incorporating a large kitchen with gas hob, oven and ample storage. The current owners opted for a single aft cabin which allows room for a king size bed and large wardrobes, but also allows for a larger forward bathroom with walk in shower and self-contained composting type toilet. Additional technical specification: Bowthruster, Lofrans Project 1500 vertical windlass, solar panels providing additional charge to batteries, infrastructure in place for the installation of generator, including separate Diesel tank and additional pipework, Grey water tank for use in European canal network, Worcester (kerosene fired) boiler providing central heating via radiators and hot water, and much more! Available to view 7 days a week at Burton Waters boat sales in Lincoln.

    Such an odd layout and dont get me started on the storage. With that amount of space it could be stunning just need a decent designer to rip it out and start again.

    Nice place, but did the owner think the boat will burn down?

    Would it be possible to install solar panels, have and have such things as satellite installations and wifi setup? Also could the generator be installed by you guys?

    Have to wonder just how popular a layout with the single cabin and one head being 50' apart would be for a liveaboard or serious cruiser? Certainly the significant interior space allowed for the master cabin and that huge head to have been configured as integral.

    What's the beam size on this boat?

    So much potential missed on this boat. Could have had a far superior kitchen layout and would benefit from a second cabin.

      The wheelhouse lowers on a ram

      I say this politely but it was mentioned in the video the wheelhouse could be lowered for the purpose of low bridges.

    Not much fun for anyone who needs to get up and go to the loo a couple of times a night.

    Given the insane amount of storage, the new owners should simply cut right to the chase and run it as an actual barge.

      Nonsense. Makes common sense and not being ripped off. This is a great bot but there are a lot available so makes sense to compare.

    bizarre layout

    • @Jurflip2
      @Jurflip2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep. Just a single sleeping cabin on a 57 foot boat is unusual to say the least. No possibility to accommodate friends or family. The galley and saloon are overly generous and the bathroom is ridiculously enormous. Having the bathroom right at the front and the sleeping cabin right at the back is also not really clever. Not having a side door on the port side will also make berthing or lock work unneccesarily difficult. The build quality seems to be excellent, but the layout is indeed bizarre.

    idiotic boat. Is ocean going or just chanels?

    • @TinWhistleTV
      @TinWhistleTV ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For a category c, it would be able to cross the english channel but it an ocean crossing boat. It's not got a big enough fuel tank to be able to do that and I'm sure it would require other features to cross oceans.

    The ridiculous massive bathroom! Completely unnecessary. The whole layout is ridiculous.
