£25M is actually not high at all by F1 standards. He's worth every penny in my opinion. Toyota was spending $1 Billion per year in their wild chase of F1 Title and they never got it, so what's £25M ?
Aston Martin have Aramco as a sponsor which is the wealthiest company in the world they will pay the difference to bring Newey on board if Stroll & Newey don't come to an agreement on the Salary particularly if Aramco buy out Aston Martin at sometime , plus there's the pull of Honda & Fernando. I always thought he would join Ferrari now I'm not so sure. As an English man & massive Alonso fan hope he does join Aston Martin.
In the game of F1 today, what Adrian Newey requests as wages is irrelevant if it means winning championships. So I do think the speculation as to a "figure" is absurd. In the end, either the new team has the money or doesn't. This is THE determining factor. But Newey is just one cog (albeit a very important one) in a large structure. I do not believe that mini stroller, Logan Sargent, nikita mazespin or Nicholas Latifi would become world champion in an Adrian Newey designed car. In short, any number suggested is pure speculation to begin with and absolutely baseless.

Leclerc and Hamilton in a Newey built car will win, put Lando and Piastri and even being a Hamilton fan I think they would do better. @@omarc2686 I also watch the NTT Indy Series and if this is anything to go by, then Alonso's age is nothing, he is still a spring chicken in comparison. the "mini stroller" (I just cannot use his proper name - has not earned it) is a considerably better driver than Logan Sargent, nikita mazespin or Nicholas Latifi but to me, he is only a better driver when his seat depends on his driving and not his dad. Right now, all he is is a paid driver and adds o value to the grid - like Logan Sargent, nikita mazespin or Nicholas Latifi and Gouan Zhou.
I think he is going to Ferrari. There isn't enough stability right now in Aston Martin. Too much drama in that team with Lance not getting the boot. Why would he leave a team with Driver Drama to go to another team with Driver Drama? Newey just wants to go racing. Ferrari will give him the paycheck. Its that simple. He's gonna retire after this last go round. He should be asking for big money and take nothing less. He's the best in the business, end of Story. Retire on top. Get a big check. Have a great retirement with the wife. Hes got another 6 years and he should be asking for $30 Million a year.
