Thanks for your experience on this arm. I have a 1982 Planar 3 that came with an R200 and did buy the kit to replace bias belt but never got round to it and don’t think I will try it now. I love the vintage look of the R200 but use an RB250.

I'm finding these videos very helpful as I have just been given one for free, just needed a new belt to be playing great again.

The vinyl source have a full rewire service for this arm including bias belt replacment. There is no need to write the arm off if it starts giving an issue. Great video thanks. 👍

These videos are great. Thanks. I was in a panic when I discovered my 'anti-skate' was broken even though everything sounded ok. Then a bit of 'if-it-ain't-broke...' philosophy plus lockdown inertia cut in and I carried on using it. Seems like your experience says that's ok, so I'm happy :)

Hi Great Video. I'll just add, the lift is adjustable with a tiny hex-grub screw on the R/H side, you may need to adjust this with a cartridge change. The bias belt change is doable, but I work with micro-electronics and have a long throw microscope, it isn't an easy job first time round. The ground connection is by the tab / metal strip shown on the socket which is the weakest part of the design. The cable is very long so cutting it back and re-terminating gets rid of a lot of excess capacitance and series resistance, my cable is now only 27" long.

Thanks for this, I'm considering buying a TT with an RB200 on it, and I'm glad to see you cutting through the BS, you've put my mind at rest!

I've got one of these turners. 1982. Decent bit a kit. I did pull the phone lead (thinking it was a plug) and yes I broke it. Small little wires. Anyway my tec guy mate fixed it. Silver wires or something

Great video Phil! Not much information available online for this Acos Lustre tone arm Do you know if this tone-arm is medium or low mass? And any recommendations for suitable cartridges?

We have talked recently and you’ve advised me over email….. you sent me a condenser and 2 rega belts.
So I changed my condenser and it works great.
Now my sound went over the weekend it sounded terrible……. Watching this I am thinking it’s my arm?
Sounded crackly and it was just strange ?
Rega 2 might be coming back out? If I email
You a picture of the arm can you tell
