An ex-professional boxer (O'Neal) tries to make a new start when teaming up with a fast talking but ageing hoodlum (Ceaser) and an ex-call girl (Frazier) but soon get more than they bargained for when crossing an adversary from their past. *******************************************************************************************************

Adolph Caesar was only 4 years older than Ron O'neal in this.Basically in his mid 40's playing a character that everyone is referring to as "old man". That's both acting and training coming together in a performance. 5 years later he'd be nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for A Soldier's Story.
Never knew this movie existed. Sheila Frazier is too fine for words.
That's the youngest I've seen Bill Cobbs, I thought he was born 70 years old.

SUPERFLY didn't mark Ron O'Neal-- the role further cemented his greatness -- perhaps the most intelligent, philosophical and strongest on screen portrayal of a cocaine kingpin done with supreme integrity and realness EVER!! It was RACIST Hollywood that typecast O'neal. This guy was a TRUE THESPIAN,, A Shakespearean trained actor!! Imagine if he had the same support system like Clint Eastwood and others in Hollywood? Just Imagine what he could've accomplished!!

The studios did exactly put a lot of big budget into these black films, so they didn't care about the boom microphone being seen.
It's nice watching these Blaxploitation movies with people who could actually ACT!!!!! LOL
True story these I phone movies be killing me they get pookie from up the block and big booty Judy from the jets and think they got a hit, definitely not living up to our legends, Hollywood and the nba are both grabbing black talent from other countries because our youth want fame and not greatness!!!
