Still cannot believe Paul is gone. I was very happy he posted at his community page. Granted that was a year ago. I was so hoping he was doing better with his alcoholism and I am so devastated he lost the fight at the end. Alcoholism is no joke. My own grandfather had two strokes because of it and he was only able to fight it after the second one.

At this point challenge runs for payday 3 are a lil boring. Payday 2 just inherently gives you far more options to work with and you have more maps to go through.

Can we talk about the fact that you managed to work SO MANY of Engineer's achievement names into your script in ways that don't come across as crowbarred in? Is The Kknowley secretly a huge TF2 fan to know so many of them, or did he just browse the steam achievements list for content? XD
You don’t make 6 videos about TF2 in a game that has nothing to do with TF2 without being a fan of TF2
most of them are fairly (?) common phrases, and the ones that aren't have been parroted to an autistic degree by the TF2 fanbase for the last 10 years so it would be almost impossible to not pick up quite a few of them

I am surprise by how many people Mitten Squad managed to influence with his channel and challenges. It was after I started watching his channel that I tried my first challenges for fun by myself. Now I do it as a sad salute to him. 🥲 rest in peace, legend.

Well, while having dinner browsing youtube, I came across this video and well, I was not expecting the first thing I'd hear was that we've lost one of the best youtubers I've ever seen. I watched him for years, and hearing that he's passed, especially this recent, is really devastating. Farewell Paul of Mitten Squad, you were amazing.
Paul of Mitten Squad is truly a great inspiration to many people, but i feel he isn’t truly gone. Seeing how many TH-camrs are doing challenge runs it constantly reminds me how he popularized the genre. In my eyes he is a legend and legends never truly die.
I miss you and may your soul rest in peace Paul.

for the marking Specials for a sentry's improved damage, one potential option was to ace the High value target skill, which allows you to mark them by aiming down sights, though that's abit of a skill point investment..

I feel like you should include Silk Road, City of Gold, and Texas Heat in your next challenge. You've already written out when you think they take place, so why not include them as part of the story?
I still feel like I want to see a "Canon only" run, in which 4 players are ONLY allowed to use perks, weapons and decks the characters canonically in that heist used, so for the 3 dlc sagas, only using those dlc characters with their signature weapons and decks.

Seeing a Frontier Justice with any more bullets than three is hard to comprehend.
This run made me wish for more legacy heists in PAYDAY 3 honestly, I love imagining what the new game's mechanics could do in these really old heists like ukranian job or firestarter
I think you should have limited the weapons to all PUMP ACTION shotguns instead of just the tf2 mod shotgun. There's quite a few Engineer shotgun unlocks so it would have made sense if you could only use pump shotguns
i didnt know about mitten squads death until about half a year after it happened, i stalked the channel daily but i couldnt see community posts on my tv so i just assumed he was taking a break, honestly one of the saddest revelations i had when i learned what happened

I had two ideas for Future payday 2 challenge runs, If you're still looking for them
The first is "The Victory Lap", Given Payday 3's release I don't think it's unreasonable to say that you're gonna be moving onto Payday 3 more than 2, so, one final challenge run which requires
Completeltion of *all* heists using the Timeline set out in the Story of Payday Series (Not 100% on how you'd do the level scaling and stuff, but I'm tired), as for anny weapon restrictions I was gonna say you can only use one build, like, if you start with An anarchist-Crit build you gotta go through the rest of the run with *just* that build, no changing weapons or annything, this would mean you'd have to choose your skills and stuff beforehand and it might get a little boring near the end, but I'm sure you'll figure something out to spice it up a little, or come up with something completely different, maybie use a different build every heist just to really push that "Victory lap" idea? Idk, but, if you really want to make it fun, you could work in Overdrill or even Secret Completion aswell, though as to how that'd work in this format I have no idea
Second idea was "The worst of the Worst", You gotta use the worst perkdeck, the worst skills, the worst guns, the worst melle, the worst crew, you get the idea, Allso, if you really want to suffer, you could play through the worst heists aswell, maybie using the RNG mod or by doing Goat Sim instead of Santa's workshop, or both. How you decide what's the worst is up to you, you'll undoubtedly know more about it than I
Both of these ideas are really rougth but, they came to my head a few months ago and I've not been able to forget about them, so I figured I'd mention, honestly, I'd be supprised if annyone even sees this comment but if you do, leave me some feedback because regardless of how rougth they are, I'd like to challenge a few people I know personally to this

Challenge recommendation:
Reasonable: Can you beat Payday 2 but you're on the Suicide Squad (basically a speedrun challenge, but each time you lose a certain amount of time, you die and have to restart the mission from the beginning. The time needed to complete mainly depends on the mission.
Hell: Can SAXTON HALE beat Payday 2's Death Sentence Mode?
Three main requirements:
-You start on your main account, so you have access to everything you need, including perks and skills
-must complete most heists in Loud
-You may only use your fists as your weapon, because guns are for wimps when compared to the gigachad's punches
-Non lethal throwables are allowed
The most important rule of all: You must not wear a shirt, regardless of if that's an option through mods or not.

Barely saw any videos of Mitten squad myself. The fact that his last video was about beating New Vegas while addicted to all chems seems a cruel irony, considering his alcohol death.

There have been several undocumented changes as of update 240.3 - 240.5. Silent saw is gone, molotovs do 10 more damage which means that the zerking methods uses for years are now invalid. Zerking with frenzy is harder and zerking without it is easier. Converts are harder to get as well
What I don't understand is why. Payday 2 is done in terms of updates. It's like they're trying to give one last kick in the balls
Silent Saw isn't completely gone, it was just nerfed. If anything, Saws were technically buffed slightly by the update as now sound gets halved if there are walls in the way. Which is a fancy way of saying the only Saw strategy that is actually broke is the GO Bank Stealth Heist. You can still Silent Saw, it's just a bit harder cause you need to stand farther away from doors.
You can still achieve an extremely similar zerk value just by throwing the Molotov, then entering the fire. IIRC it's a 2 or 3 percent difference. The only real change is that you can't throw molotovs directly under you now.
Converts are somewhat harder to obtain, but as long as you can inflict knockback you should be able to get them no problem.
Payday 2 is still fine. These changes are really easy to work around and barely change established strategies.

@gilby_6543 I think Silent Saw was technically a bug and Converts may have been broken at some point which explains why they were so easy to get.
I think the skeleton crew for Payday 2 was focused on fixing bugs and not seeing what the bugs actually were.
I'm not trying to defend why Overkill is doing weird updates to Payday 2. I'm just offering some kind of explanation for it.
I came to this video excited for a knew kknowley pd2 challenge run, then i was sad being reminded of pauls death. RIP, genuinly one of the best youtube creators

Also, any better is if you had installed a mod I once saw that allows civilians to stay down when a sentry is over them. It can do the job of several zip ties if done well. Essentially replicating the situation of Mercy Hospital.
So, 6 tf2 themed challenge runs down, 3 to go. I also have a sugested one.
Scout: scout is an annyoing boston boy with a nasty attitude but a weak frame. Lucky for him, hes an speedy little goober. He only uses lever action shotguns, pistols and bats. Also a dodge build is forced here. NO ARMOR ALLOWED!
Soldier: Our favorite idiotic pychopath, he went to germny to kill people. Tf2 rocket launcher required.
Medic: the teams resident doctor and mad scientist. Since medic is a suport class who doesnt usally fight. Be a pasifist (outside of lifelines) with the crew ai but they can only use tf2 thematic weapons. If rulebreaker is used, the medic can only use the airbow, crossbow and medical tools. Try modfing in the medi gun and stealth no mercy as far as it can go. (He is a doctor without a medical licence)
Meet the team: finaly is a multiplayer change run. Each teammate follows the rules if all the prevous tf2 challege run, but ppayers can only play one class each. 1st player hittkng level 80 spokes the difficulty to Eath Sentice (optionally ODDS If your team is feeling brave). Instead of crew support, a new lifeline appears: "Clown Car". Install big lobbies mod and allow upto 9 people in this heist with same changerun rules. This automatically turns on ONE DOWN.
Hearing about mitten squad hit me like a freight train. May he rest in peace.

Idea for medic: Duo run, you cannot artack with anything other than your melee saw, you need to bring faks / doctor bags and constant heal your duo, if you or your duo go to custody, restart

How to do the medic rules (to my understanding):
1: use a perk deck that heals the team.
2: can only use the hailstorm needle gun thing that I forgot about, the syringe melee, and the ones that I forgot about and forgot to mention
3: AI teammates are allowed. (Either all of their weapons are allowed, or their weapons need to be from 1 tf2 class per AI, like one is soldier, another is demo, etc.)
4: make no effort to assist others, like a real tf2 medic.
You know I’d like to think that they’re trying to confiscate engis turrets and he needs to steal them back so the cops can’t make them

It'll never not baffle me that he doesnt like the Biker Heist. Personally, I love it. Me and my friend used to farm it constantly in our earlier Payday 2 days because it was the best paying heist we could consistently clear on a relatively high difficulty. Plus, we just had a blast mowing down hoards of enemies.

Another one is senza He switches between the genres of borderlands fallout in the elder scrolls games
In the last one I will talk about today is nurbit nerbit he is a amazing TH-camr he sticks with the genre that Mitten squad did which is the elder scrolls and fallout well occasionally going on to other games like the 5 hour craziness that was can you beat the entirety of metal gear solid before the old dies
And obviously there is many many more that he inspired and I miss him he was generally one of my favorite damn youtube of all time right next to a lot of HOI4 TH-camrs and a lot of other miscellaneous fallout TH-camrs Mitten squad also inspired me to play more fallout games and play more elder scrolls rings and basically my favorite TH-camrs you included have some way shaped me in my humor in my video games I play and my personality in general
One of the things that we can take away from mittens squad is one open the cheese jar in 10 years and two no matter what happens to you you will always have a impact on someone you can forge a genre on youtube on accident even like I always say don't remember how they died remember how they lived and how they impacted communites

Medic Challenge Run: I dunno how to set up weapons, but the main gimmick is you get to use the crew A.I. and MUST equip them with weapons that make them relate to a TF2 mercenary. Oh, and nobody is allowed to go into custody.
Weapons should either be Nail Gun or Crossbow, since those are most likely the equivalents to the Syringe Guns and the Crusader's Crossbow.

I actually enjoy this build style, although I enjoy a nice armored biker build because biker has a higher regen potential
For those wondering why Mr. Brown doesn't get shot during Resevoir Dogs, supposedly you can actually body block him, ala "Mr. President! Get down!". Not sure if this is a recent bug or if its been there since the beginning, but there is a second Mr. Brown outside and you can walk him in. While personally untested, it doesn't seem like you can body block the second one, which is kinda weird how you can block the first one.
I could also just be talking out of my ass so do your own testing. Maybe its the body blocking, maybe it isn't.
