    I've been watching your videos for motivation! But it bothers me to see so many people judging others here in your comments...
    :( hoarding is a horrible thing to live with, none of these people are actually happy in their living situations, and it most certainly isnt something they do by choice.. I hope you all will begin to use your platform to educate others rather than perpetuate the misunderstanding and stigmatization and demonization of mental illness

      i have many diagonisises, hoarding is a symptom of some of them. My life is nowhere near like this, I'm a really clean person infact to a bit of too focus on clean however the basement and laundry room of my home are piled and I too feel like all I'm seen as is pathetic lazy and digusting. My family thinks so too. I like these videos. I would love my basement cleaned I have dreams of having a craft/ alter table, a rug in this cubby where I can sit and draw. a place to paint and be happy and listen to music. right not its like that in my room but of course its croweded with dressers and stands so my items can stay oragnized up here

    • @KashFloPro

      It was layers and layers of old newspapers, 20+ years of them being stacked on top of each other. Unfortunately they were not very fluffy. They had gotten wet at some point, and over all that time they had hardened together so they were almost like bricks. That was actually the hardest thing to physically get cleaned out of the whole house!

    I’ve been in dozens of hoarder houses and I have to say I’ve never seen such a clean one. No layer of filth on the walls, or even the floor. The bathtub looks clean. In fact I don’t even see the usual inch of dust on anything. No walking path through the house, or to the bed. And all the trash seems to be dry, no old food. Very weird ! Was this a house someone lived in, or were the neighbors just using it as a place to dump their recyclables?

    • @KashFloPro
      @KashFloPro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's a great way of putting it! It was my first hoarder house experience, but it was very "clean" junk. There was no food garbage, no signs of any spilled food or drinks, nothing like that. Just piles and piles of stuff! The only way to get anywhere was to just walk on top of the piles. The previous owner had owned the house for over 25 years, and had actually lived there.

      Hoarding is a disorder, but typically hoarders aren't stressed by their own behavior. It's a family member, or outside circumstances, such as the threat of eviction, that force them to get rid or their stuff, at least temporarily. It used to be classified in the DSM as a form of OCD, but is now further differentiated because hoarders do not feel a sense of shame or discomfort surrounding their behavior.
