      @@KaranJugran I appreciate you mentioning this. Thank you so much. I did learn about lifting the tongue to the roof of the mouth in yoga training, but I don't think they mentioned deep cervical engagement. As a martial art application, physical therapy, stability training, and post rehab exercise prescription, it is not mentioned. I will definitely check into this point. New research is always being conducted, so it is important to stay updated for sure. The 3-Lock Mountain is an integration of a few different practices and can be detailed even more to increase the benefits for those who want to take it to another level, :), so I will consider this for the future. Thank you again!

      @@KaranJugran Loving what I am reading so far on this topic. Yo Elliot - Strength Camp gives a simple and direct explanation on his Build Stronger Neck Muscles video. That is a very good question! I teach my clients and students about hook reminders. Find something to help remind you. You can use your breath, your phone notification or computer reminder, your YoutTube notification sound, traffic lights you stop at, a car taillights if you drive a lot or find yourself in traffic. The list is quite long, but that should give you a head start. I will do a video about that dilemma. Thanks for the idea!

    This has been very helpful. My husband has ankylosing spondylitis and although he says he has no pain his back gets tired and he finds it increasingly difficult to stand straight. I will show him this video but he will prob say that it’s too uncomfortable, I’m not sure how much to push on this, I imagine it will do no harm. Do you have any suggestions please? He is not overweight , mountain boards plays squash keeps fit. But fairly desk bound apart for a daily run. Not sure how to help. Thank you

    • @theposturespecialist3LM
      @theposturespecialist3LM  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nicci Nowinska With AS he likely has been to a doctor who has given him suggestions on possible medication interventions, physical therapy, exercises, and daily posture practice that will help him. The 3-Lock Mountain is going to be the best daily posture practice for him, but there would be specific postural exercises I would recommend to further support his core so his back feels less tired when he is trying to be in good posture. The running probably progresses the condition, so I would prefer he cycle, swim, hike, walk. If he lifts at the gym, I would stay away from load bearing exercises/positions that will further compress the spine. Holistically he needs to hydrate internally as much as possible and decrease inflammation...so decreasing foods that overheat or dry him out (ie salt, excessively hot foods/drinks). Turmeric helps with internal inflammation as well. There would be other things I would consider holistically if I were seeing him. I hope some of this is helpful. I do offer remote sessions, so let me know if he would like to set up a time to meet.

      Diana Isajeva It is definitely a workout if you have postural discrepancies. I tell my clients and students that it takes 6-9 months for that tenderness to go away (depending on the severity of your posture dysfunction). I have a 10-week posture program that starts September 12th, if you are interested. $200 for 10 weeks. One hour every Saturday. Lots of individualized instruction as I only work with small groups for my posture programs. I also have weekly classes if that would be useful for you. I have bad posture since I was a kid, my brothers would bully me because of it they will call me hunchback or egor and they still do. I accept I have a small hunch back and I don't know how to fix it, everytime I try to stand up straight I get tired real fast or I feel like I can't breath. After my second baby it's been harder to have a straight posture my back is always killing me. I need help! Please 🙏😩

    • @theposturespecialist3LM
      @theposturespecialist3LM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m so sorry you are struggling. I highly recommend my weekly Zoom classes to keep you consistent. The Tues at 1pm Friday at 11am PST. First class is free and ongoing is $10 per class. We can work individually together through Zoom and I offer a sliding scale, but that might still be more than you are able to spend. You will need weekly accountability to keep you making corrections and progress, especially since the baby is not going to get smaller...which equals increased weight you will be lifting. You will want to get on this now. My best suggestion, aside from getting the 3-Lock Mountain down, is to have 1-3 individual sessions with me to get you assessed and ahead and then to follow up with the classes weekly. Let me know if that will work for you. You can email me or send me a message via my website Contact page. If you get the assessment then I can see if a posture correctors might be helpful for you. Let me know what you would like to do. Hang in there!!

      Aaron Santiago Hey Aaron I was never notified about your comment☹️. So sorry. AS is not something I have worked with before honestly. I would want to talk with your doctor to see how severe your condition is and confirm treatment protocol. My hues is that the 3-Lock Mountain, movement, and strengthening (especially your core) would be a part of the treatment protocol as well as the basics that go along with AS. Since there is no cure at this time, keeping your weight down will be important as well as integrating the right counter-pain strategies for you so you are as comfortable as possible. I hope that makes sense. If in the future you try to reach out to me and you don't hear back from me within two days, I never got your message. So check back with me again, k? Danny Llerena Hi Danny. I have not found one that I would recommend at this time. I have a posture brace video that I did a few months ago. I am guessing you haven't seen it yet. It's under my Product Review playlist. A viewer recently recommended a posture brace that she uses, so I am going to order one and try it out. I usually do not recommend anything I have not tried myself, so give me a month or two and I will let you know. For now I would recommend the 3-Lock Mountain as I truly believe it is the best posture exercise and stretch people can do to improve their posture. Watch my posture hook video for additional help. Hi Celeste...the Diaphragm Lock can be a challenge for sure. Try to remember that you are dealing with muscles that are attached to your whole torso, so any added weight is going to present more work. I would probably give you some corrective exercises to help your body to adapt better while you were practicing the 3LM. If you have been exercising your muscles in poor posture, you have had that same added weight strengthening the muscles in the wrong direction. Now going the opposite direction to correct it will take more work and you will feel it a bit more. I think I am going to start a series for women since we have a few considerations that are different from men. Really good question. • @theposturespecialist3LM
      @theposturespecialist3LM  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cloppa2000 Yes, but with a slight modification. For APT, depending on the degree of tilt, I would implement corrective strategies to counter the dyscrepancy. I have a post on this at my Instagram site. The 3-Lock Mountain is a very safe micro- exercise and stretching practice that you implement with everything you do to maximize postural corrections and adaptations. You may do your individual corrective exercises 3-7 days/wk for 20-60 min/day; you do the 3-Lock Mountain 24/7.

    I can't hear what she is saying because of the stupid music. What does she pull up at 2:32?

      Sorry the music is too loud for you. I don’t think I can change the volume at this point. Let me see what you are referring to. Thank you for putting in the time stamp.

      The Pelvic Lock is detailed in this video. Each Lock actually has its own separate video detailing each step as well. Let me know if this is helpful. Happy posturing!

    Gave up watching. The background music is so irritating.

      So sorry it wasn’t a fit for you. I have other videos that break down each Lock, but not sure about the background music.
