Hi Damo, good video and under water vid so clear. We are all here helping you pull your pots. I'm going to launch my 2 katipo's on Friday, on the front bait box I drilled 10 x 10mm holes in it to release bait more i.e. mules and stuff. Hope it works better. cya mate.
Hi @Steve_Double0, I'm feeling the support 🤣🤣 cheers mate! I did the same thing with those pots when I had a couple of them. I found that they almost always came up with Blue Rings hiding in them because of all the little hidey holes in the plastic, so just keep your eyes out for those little suckers mate! Good luck with the Crays!
Hey Damo, great underwater footage. Your milk crate pot was perfect placement right next to the reef! This time of year hey, can start to get a little tiresome pulling pots for no reward, and then soon it will be boom and pots will be full. I'm just trying to skip the catching nothing phase this year 😅
Hi Wazza, it was great catching up with you the other day at the ramp! Yeah, this phase where they shut down before they march is pretty frustrating.... cheers mate and hopefully next time we catch up we have a bag of crays each! 😁
Hi @Podge. I know, right?! Hahahaaaa 🤣 it's normal for them to shut down a week or 2 before they start to move. You are only allowed 2 pots per licensed fisher with a maximum of 6 pots per boat (3 licenses).
You'll get one eventually! We used old metal milkcrates the same way 50 years back as kids, freediving them into reef holes.. Worked
Hi @laniheyward3143, that's awesome 👌 great idea! Here's hoping it performs soon 🙏
Youre a patient man Damo!
Hahahaaaa, cheers @kdtsh it's starting to wear thin though 😩
