In this video I demonstrate how to load MIDI software instruments, record MIDI with a MIDI controller, edit MIDI in the piano roll editor, quantize MIDI recordings, and write automation for the XY transform pad in Alchemy. Great video! Am I missing something? Recording midi for auv3 instruments seems pretty straightforward, but how do you record the audio from that instrument? For instance, how do you record an instrument that has its own sequencer built-in. In other words, how do I record audio from auv3 instrument that plays on its own without needing or outputting any midi?
_New to Logic Pro iOS here. 😖 I hope I’ll get used to how you do midi cuz I’m used to playing it (this has no impact on me since it’s normal) but where I’m lagging is when I program in quick leads or parts with a quick bass riff as a fill. 🎵🎹🎶🔊 I’m hoping to try this out because this seems useful. Thank you!_
Could you record midi patch changes from, let's say a foot controller or effects processor, then when playing back the midi, have it change those patches through midi events?
That's great ! Can you play a midi keyboard with your right hand while playing chords on the chord tab by touching the chord tab with your left finger or pencil ?
I wanna ask a issue in logic about audio import. Some audio files are automatically sync tempo on drag drop or audio import even if I don’t want to follow tempo. And when I turned off flex & follow off the audio file sounds very scratched poor. Whats the solution for it please reply 🙏
I have a Nectar Impact LX Mini, and a Launchkey37. Does the iPad Pro work as class compliant? I can't get any control of Logic Pro, except just playing keys, on iPad. Is there a way to use the controllers like I can on Mac - controlling transport, plug ins, instruments, etc?
Does this support external control surfaces? I use Logic mainly for mixing. I need hardware faders and transport. Not interested in touch screen automation.
It depends on where you usually work. If you like to sit down in a home studio and work like I do, it'll mainly just be for using on the go, or coming up with ideas on the fly. Personally, I've always hated the idea of bringing a laptop everywhere I go, so I really like it for doing site recordings. Also there are certain features that are just objectively better with touch control -- step sequencer, some automation features like Alchemy's XY pad I demonstrate in this video, the new Beat Breaker and Sample Alchemy plugins, etc. I don't see the iPad version as a main platform to work on, but rather as an extension of my workflow.
there's a community of people who produce solely on their ipads this may not be big for someone who uses a desktop, but for us mobile creators it's a revolutionary moment
I love that I can sit on the couch while watching tv and mess around with midi and drum grooves as a sketch pad. If I like it I can then expand on it in my studio. This is huge for me for coming up with ideas.

You might want to include how one can delete that performance information in case one wants to change it or just remove it.

Is there an option to simplify the automation, do you know?

@@MusicTechHelpGuy Admittedly I'm a bit of a keyboard guy, and never a Ipad fan. To each his or her own. 🙂
